Amazing experience, knowledgeable employees who are excited to share what they know so you can have a successful time at home with whatever brought you there. The animals were in clean comfortable housing. And the Bettas seemed SO happy. They had little bubblers for each one and they looked so healthy. Prices were affordable as well, I was able to get more than I expected. I will be coming to Anchorage specifically for Pet Zoo. A 3 hour drive is worth it for these folks. 10/10

They have stepped their game up over the years! You'll find a good selection of brands and products you can't find at most pet stores here in town. Good top dog rewards program which allows you to save, get coupons, etc.

Good store, shop local. The store has a great selection and good prices. The kids love seeing the animals and it is a great learning experience. I usually let them get a little animal toy.

Excellent service. Got exactly what I needed, even free treat samples at the front desk and spun a prize wheel and got a new tag for my dog's collar. Everyone I interacted with was in a positive mood. Donated to the sea life center there today, too. Support local :)

This is the only store I go to for my 4 ball pythons, leopard gecko, & kitty. I’ve been going to pet zoo for about 8 years now. They treat their animals so well, the staff is always so sweet & incredibly knowledgeable. It’s a huge thing for me to know that I can trust the staff with any questions or concerns I have, and pet zoo absolutely exceeds those standards for me.

Had to purchase some new dog food today that is cheaper than the hypoallergenic royal canin that I have been buying from the vet for 2 months now. 107 bucks for 25 lb bags. Yikes!Spent 65.00 bucks on a bag of Blu Dianond brand grain-free chicken flavored food. I think is was like almost 70 bucks but there were coupons on The shelf with the price tags and the food for us to take to the register for checkout.

Love shopping here and supporting a local business that has good prices, a great selection of pet foods and treats and the rewards program is great as well. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Would definetly recommend!

I have had many pets and I've used to pet zoo for years for their nutritional needs and other needs. Dogs cats and rabbits. My last cat lived to be 17 or 18 years old and a big reason was that I discovered Nutri Source cat food. He passed away on November 17th of last year I'm grateful that I was with him when he went to the rainbow bridge.My boss and his wife rescued a kitten a few weeks ago. The kitten was went cold and his fur was matted and he was very hungry. I adopted this kitten into my life my heart and my home. We've been together 8 days. Pets who is the only place I have found Nutri Source. Because of the success I had with their products my new kitten is being raised on their food. Please see attached photos of T S Trouble. I Always enjoy shopping here. The staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable about the products they sell. Only 4 stars because they didn't have the product I was looking for and the associate said she hasn't seen them in the store for a while. It was a regular round fish bowl so I thought it was weird a pet store wouldn't sell fish bowls.

I have been coming here for years. The staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. For example the dog food I had fed was no longer available and the employee had a vast knowledge of the different foods and helped me choose the best new food for my dog. And Pet Zoo is a local company... and I like supporting local!

Be advised, they no longer offer bags and are out of the reusable bags. BYOB Bring your own bags lol. Great service, fantastic products, and they are locally owned. Thanks for being here for Alaskan pet owners and thank you for looking out for our beautiful state by getting rid of wasteful bags.

Bought a snail and a plecostamus. Just a baby pleco. Knowledgeable fish-man. Free popcorn. Non-stop cute puppy parade in the store. Free dog treats. Yappy New Year promotion going on right now. Petzoo animal jail is an ok place to visit with the family.

We decided to stop here first on our way to PetCo to look at an automatic litter box for our cat. I noticed they had the same one that PetCo had but $30 more expensive. So I asked the manager (whom I assume is the manager due to her carrying a clipboard and watching everyone in the store) if they would price match it and I was immediately cut off when asking. She went about how and why they don’t price match but I don’t like being cut off when asking.

The staff is always friendly and they always have the dog food I need in stock.Their rewards program is actually useful, which I can't say about a lot of stores. I appreciate being able to shop at Pet Zoo.Update: My son adopted 2 kittens and I haven't had cats in over 20 years. We went to Pet Zoo to stock up on supplies. We got a lot of great help and info on taking care of kittens from the staff. Also 20% off our entire purchase since he had just adopted them. Really the best pet supply store in town.

Everytime I have stopped in to buy fish the staff has been super knowledgeable and kind. Forget to catch a name but the lady that helped me today went above and beyond to help me find some fish that would be suitable for my setup! Always nice when you don't feel rushed to pick what you want out.

Great variety of products, very knowledgeable staff with low turnover, locally owned, and never too busy. The one time they were out of stock of an item, the first person I spoke to knew why and told me which of their competitors may have it. Well behaved dogs are welcome inside. COVID-safe without being overbearing. Don't shop big box; this is the place you're looking for.

I usually have a good experience with this local business. However a couple weeks ago I had gone in and asked an adult woman manager for a specific pyrantel puppy dewormer for my 2 new puppies. She was condescending and rude. Gave me a dirty look up and down and told me “we don’t carry anything like that” and I asked again if they carry that specific product and she again looked at me with the snarkiest face and said “no I’ve never heard of that”I found it on the shelf with the help of a young man who is not management this week at that exact store.

I have been shopping at Pet Zoo for almost 18 years because I believe in supporting local businesses. I have always had superior customer advice and support until today. There was a discrepancy on a price of a product because the price label on the shelf was more than twice that the register rang it up to be. The same product "glandex" with smaller square inch wipes was priced the same as the product with larger square inches. Your girl with the blue hair on your Dimond store tried to make me think that customers will move products around and ignored the fact that the wipes are different dimensions. I told her that wasn't right and asked her to look me in the eye and she wouldn't. From now on I'll order my pet supplies from Amazon.

I went there today and the service was excellent! I was greeted and having fish bagged right away. The employee who helped me was very knowledgeable about tank setup and happy to answer all of my questions. I appreciated that she gave me honest advice so I didn’t buy fish that would outgrow my 10 gallon tank. The prices were also better than Alaska Coral & Fish as well as Petco.

I've always had a good experience here. I appreciate that I always feel safe shopping here. They respectfully wear masks and keep physical distance while still helping me get what I need for my reptiles. Sometimes they are out of stock of what I need but if I call ahead they are good at telling me the eta of those things. A++ costumer service

They carry healthy foods and treats. I greatly appreciate the knowledge their employees have. I would like to see better sales however. Sometimes I can beat their prices with free shipping. Great place and knowledgeable staff. They take in animals that people don't want and the staff are almost always ready to help you. My only real complaint is that have been times when the employees haven't been very helpful or keen on helping, but I received both of my rabbits from this place (one of which was a rescue from a petting zoo). Great spot to go if you're looking to support local businesses. Their pets there always seem to be in excellent condition every time I've gone as well!
