THE fish store in Anchorage. Employees are well versed in all things fish. All the supplies for any type of tank you could possibly desire, fresh or saltwater. Tons of livestock and plants in stock. If they don't have it, they can absolutely get it for you. Pictured are two bettas I recently picked up from them. They're the most active bettas I've ever recieved.

The guys here have gone above and beyond to help me get my tank set up and safe for fish. I struggled with my nitrates and nitrites and they tested my water for me, told me exactly what to use, and told me a good water “treatment plan” to stabilize my water. They’ve been helpful, friendly, educational, and informative. I felt comfortable asking all the questions I needed, and they were more then happy to answer them. Make sure to stop by and support this local shop!

I'm a representative of the American Axolotl Organization, so my care standards are high for all aquatics.I had a wonderful experience here! I picked up some lovely ricefish that are in their quarantine, and they had some beautiful bettas on display. Definitely check them out!

I'm thrilled that I stumbled upon this amazing place. After a hiatus of over 20 years, I decided to dive back into the world of fishkeeping. Unfortunately, my initial purchase from a large retail store resulted in diseased fish. Thankfully, I discovered AK Coral and Fish, where I sought out medication for my sick fish. The staff here are incredibly down to earth and possess a wealth of knowledge.Once my existing fish were successfully treated and healthy again, I returned to AK Coral and Fish to expand my collection. From now on, this will be my go-to destination for purchasing fish. Their selection is truly impressive and I dare say, the best in Alaska.

First time visiting, staff was very helpful, I just wanted to browse and see what they had and that was no problem, staff were cleaning tanks and we're still happy to offer help and answer questions, tanks all looked clean with healthy fish.

I Love Alaska Coral, Tim the Owner is My DuDe. About 8 years ago my Daughter wanted to fish tank but didn't want to beta I told her if we're going to do this we're going to go big and Daddy's going to get a Shark. I got a 200 gallon saltwater fish tank and we chose an Australian epaulette Shark and they only get about 10 of them a year and United States for sale because they're wild caught in Australia and my dude Tim got me a perfectly healthy beautiful baby Australian epaulette shark they was already eating frozen foods and it's she was the most beautiful shark ever as well as he provided three different Dory fishes for my daughter's nemo tank.. so no matter what it is that you're looking for whether it's an exotic species or just a specific Coral if it has to do with fish or Coral Tim and Alaska Coral Tim's the Dude, and Alaska Coral and fish is the PLACE

Only place in town worth buying from. Anchorage water hardened. Buy from a box store and you're bringing home problems. Great operation!

well worth the trip across town for healthy fish. The guys here are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Don't be misled by some teen working at petsmart about the hobby. Come here

Like most others, I love this place. So happy there is finally an alternative to the large stores like Petco/PetSmart whose practices with regard to fish keeping is absolutely atrocious. Unlike these large stores that’s give you incorrect information about not only compatible species but proper tank size, cycling, feeding, etc, AK Coral & Fish give sound advice & provide a much better environment for the fish while in their care.I live in Soldotna so whether it’s plants or fish, they always make sure they get home safe with a chunk of filter material (beneficial bacteria), more air in the bag, insulated box, etc. They’ve given me smoking deals on used equipment too. Love these guys. Keep it up!

These guys are GREAT! My wife and I stopped by just to check it out and ended up leaving with several new additions to our aquarium. They really know their stuff also. Cody is exceptional. He helped my wife and I out during a very busy time of day but he didn't stop answering our questions and giving us advice until we were completely satisfied. If you're looking for ANYTHING fish/aquarium related or if you have questions about anything, stop by and see these guys!

Our family had an excellent experience here. We brought the kids and enjoyed looking in all of their tanks while waiting to be helped. The store is clean and neatly organized, and the fish are well looked after. Cody helped us understand what would be best for our tank size, and was very patient and informative while we decided what we wanted. If you’re looking for tank creatures or supplies, I fully recommend Alaska Coral & Fish.

Best fish store you'll find in Anchorage. Period. The guys there are helpful and their selection of livestock is top notch. Only thing Id ask for is a larger selection of plants but theyve got a good range of beginner plants as well.

Always great service. Healthy fish and they sell reverse osmosis water and fish supplies at a great value. If they don't have something you can always ask and they will do their best to help you find it. Best variety of fish I have seen in years.

When you turn off of Arctic Blvd onto Potter Rd shortly before the spur, dont let the sun-yellowed sign for Alaska Coral & Fish fool you: there is life here. Within the walls of what might otherwise be mistaken for an old warehouse is a bustling ecosystem of aquatic flora and fauna. Upon entering, you are transported to a wondrous underwater realm; as a wise man once said: “Darling it’s better down where it’s wetter” and nowhere in Anchorage is it truer than Alaska Coral & Fish. You no longer need to make the perilous 2-hour drive to Seward’s Sea-Life Center to get the Alaskan aquarium experience, it’s right here in town, from floor to ceiling and wall to wall are endless chambers of beautiful blue water housing a kaleidoscopic menagerie of exotic fish, each just as vibrant and rarefied as a rainbow. Included in this panoramic spectrum are Black Moors, Pink Jack Dempsey’s (name of a private detective in a true crime novel or a prizefighting pugilist?), Blue Moscow Guppies, Red Spot Severums, Purple Rose Queens, Blue Brownies, Gold Barbs, and the star of Pride: the Rainbow Shark. Of tetra there are Glowlites, Rubies, Silvertip, and the Rummynose. You like shrimp? They’ve got Whiskers, Yellow and Red Fires, and the unabashed Sexy Shrimp. Alaska Coral & Fish doesn’t discriminate when it comes to water type either, they’ve got both freshwater and seawater aquariums and if you’re looking for that perfect coral or anemone for your co-dependent Picasso Clown, they’ve got those in supply as well. And while your fishie friends are devotin’ full time to floatin’, reknowned French philosopher Voltaire would remind you to cultivate your garden; Alaska Coral & Fish doubles as a nursery with a rainforest-like selection of plantlife. An eternally swaying array of cryptocoryne, ludwigia, wisteria, Tiger Lotus, Duckweed, moneywort, hornwort, Java Ferns, Pineapple Compacta, Banana Plants, African Onion, and ual grass shelter all manner of fish peeking out from behind their fronds, waiting for the errant visitor from which they can beg food or attention. You dont have to be gladiatorial to appreciate their armory of Sword plants either, you can choose from Amazon, Rosette, Ozelot, Argentine, and Big Bear (not the defunct grocery chain), and while we’re on the topic of stabby-themed designations, dont overlook their swordtails or the ominously titled Black Ghost Knife. These fish won’t hurt you, however, and this isn’t a battlefield, the laws of survival do not hold sway here; all the myriad aquatic creatures and plants are well nourished by the expert team of ichthymasters who are both knowledgeable and passionate about helping you configure your ideal aquarium. Permanent residents Clyde and Bonnie the Albino Frogs, or Taco and Slurpy the albino axolotls, can attest to this fine fishy dormitory. At Alaska Coral and Fish, there are no predators they must hide from, each little clam knows how to jam, each snail knows how to wail; this is a humble corner of Anchorage where life not only exists, it thrives.

Love this place, but the staff is super dude-oriented. I keep being asked if I'm working on a school project even though I manage a stock facility. Also, it took a month to get my order in. That being said, their tanks are impeccable, their prices are very reasonable, and their staff is so knowledgeable. All of their fish are very VERY well cared for. But stop treating me like a kid when I'm there to order a bunch of supplies for my facility.

The staff at Alaska Coral and Fish are great. Always very friendly and helpful when it comes to picking the right kind of tank mates. Cody is always on it, very knowledgeable and happy to share. They have also seemed to maintain a nice variety of coral and fish during the pandemic. Would highly recommend

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable! Vast variety of fresh and saltwater fish. Tanks are kept clean. Fish are vibrant and healthier than at any other pet store I've been into! We left with 7 fish for $80 which seems pricey but well worth it for the variety we chose :) Definitely our go-to for fish and tips!!

Fish health: 3 starPlants: 4 starCustomer service: 1 starProduct selection: 2 starIf you go here, expect to waste half an hour just trying to get an employee to acknowledge or assist you. If you're lucky enough to get helped, the advice given is poor at best. The plants are reasonably priced but lose a star for poor packaging. If you buy fish from them be sure to check the tank for dead fish rotting on the substrate. Their selection of equipment and chemicals is extremely limited and overpriced.I will not be going back.

Great hidden gem in Anchorage. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The quality of the fish is top notch. The staff obviously cares about the product. The coral nursery is just cool. They go out of their way to show our kids the fish and coral taking the time to explain the types. Repeat customers and will go no where else from now on.
