I've been involved with multiple rescues over the years. Precious Paws is one of the best I've ever fostered for. I've also adopted from them, or more like foster failed, since they had the nerve to send me such an amazing dog! The dogs from Precious Paws all live with dedicated fosters that work with them to be the best dogs they can be. Because of this, they really know their dogs and can make sure to place them in proper homes where they'll thrive. I've been working with Karyl for close to a year and she's always very responsive when an issue comes up with a foster. I haven't had to bathe a single dog from transport, which is almost unheard of, because they're so clean when they get to New England. The dogs are kept in crates on transport, walked, cleaned, and checked on often, which is very apparent when they get off that transport van. Alabama has a huge problem with bad dog "owners" that keep their pets chained up, let them roam to get killed by cars, or leave them outside to starve and be killed by the elements and wildlife. These same " pet owners" are the ones leaving the bad reviews, which is unfortunately all too common with Southern rescues. Please ignore the people who are actively adding to the problem while these rescue owners are devoting their lives to trying to fix the issues with animal abuse in the South. They will unfortunately say anything to shift blame away from themselves and their irresponsible pet ownership.

I have fostered for Karyl and the organization is NOT located in Smokerise and they do not steal animals. These animals are vetted, spayed and neutered, and cared for very well by the best people on the planet. I have volunteered and fostered for Precious Paws and other groups. I fostered one that had an upper respiratory infection and was almost starved to death. When you foster, the dogs may be sick! Keeping them in a kennel will assure the spread of an illness, so of course she tries to get them to fosters. PPRI paid the vet bills and I nursed her back to health. During her stay with me, Karyl took her to the vet to be spayed and made sure I had meds for her. I LOVE PRECIOUS PAWS AND ALL THEIR AWESOME VOLUNTEERS AND ESPECIALLY KARYL AND BRIAN.

Update: Precious Paws and Rebecca's Paws and Claws have reportedly severed ties with Karyl Alderman. Am adding two stars based on this news. I was a foster for Karyl. She sent me animals numerous times who had communicable illnesses, without warning me. My personal animals caught the illnesses. Hopefully my cats will not catch FiV from the kittens she stuck me with in October, who are FiV positive. Even though precious paws and Rebecca's have, reportedly, severed ties with Karyl, they have made no offer to take these kittens off my hands and find them homes, or get them medical care. My personal cats are at risk. My efforts to contact them have been blocked, and I've been threatened with legal action for these reviews. Know what, I'm only adding one star. Do better ladies.
