Prices are good, but they charge an extra 10% wholesale on top of the 10% tax on food. I don't buy chicken or neckbones from here anymore because they seem to keep it roo long. With them wrapping the meat tight, you won't know it's spoiled until you get ready to cook it. Love the staff.

I noticed the new sign outside and on the building. They are calling themselves Fresh Value Marketplace. A lot of the shelves were empty and they moved the bread from the left side of the store all the way to the right. Some of the products have changed, so I'm not sure if the prices will be better or cheaper. There weren't any homeless people hanging around outside, so I guess they are trying to improve their look. I'll wait to see how the prices go in the next few weeks.

It runs out of things I want quite often and no one knows when another shipment comes. They also don't carry certain flavors of an item and their prices shift a good deal from week to week. Very frustrating and their fruits never look good

Just walked out of here for the first time, decided to try the food in the deli. I can’t believe how bad it tastes. No seasoning whatsoever, almost can’t believe a country cook made it. Then to top it all off, took a sip of my sweet tea to wash the taste down, and it’s hot like coffee. No ice. Waste of money.

The name of this store has changed. I only stop here for one item and one item only. You don't save, the prices are the same and 10% is added to the total. That's rights, so if an item is $10, you pay $11 for it plus $.90 tax. That item is now $11.90. I guess it's good for the people in the area that otherwise wouldn't have a grocery store to shop at since Winn Dixie closed on this side of town and they may not want to go in Walmart. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Everything was clean and neat . reasonable prices. I didn't understand while customers pay a 10 percent sue charge to shop with you all..my purchase was.80.00 and was charge 7.50.had I know that I wouldn't had shopped there. 7.50 isn't a lot but it could mean the world a struggling person

A few items that I needed were less expensive than I thought it would be and then most of the things like I had to buy a bottle of mineral oil and a can of flying insect killer and the prices were ridiculous. Why can't they get the store brand or generic or whatever of the bug spray? Just things like that they should have a cheaper version available. I wasn't very happy with the experience that I had today and I usually think I do pretty good.

Only my second time there, but I like the store. We go there for 2 specific items that aren't sold anywhere else in the Tuscaloosa or Birmingham area. I just wish they would sell the original flavor of Turkey Hill iced tea (the one with the orange lid). All they have is the sweet tea and raspberry flavors. ☹️ If they sold the original, we'd shop there A LOT, even though it's a 45 minute drive.

Great employee's but especially night management (rarely in there during the day so no idea about the day management but imagine they are nice as well). Prices are great especially on meats with lot's of sales. They might not have quite the selections of some of your other stores but make up for it in price and customer service.

I really like their meat dept. and their fresh fruits and vegetables are good. The meat market has some really good prices. Worth a visit just to see. It's not as fancy as a Publix by any means but it's a great store.

Great prices on meats, produce, and snacks. The pick 5 is a great deal! Come shop now and you can receive saver stamps for every $10 you spend and for every ten stamps you get $3 off of the new glass food storage container promotion. Collect enough and all you have to pay is taxes on them!

Went to the store this morning 12/22/21 and was racially profiled by Amy. She assumed I was paying with ebt. There is nothing wrong with ebt, if I could get some free money I would. It's the fact that she automatically assumed I was paying with ebt. I have NEVER been racially profiled in this store EVER!!! You need to watch yourself Amy not everyone will walk away quietly after being racially profiled.

Food is always spoiled. Meat and vegetables. Me and my family had to return items often because of it being rotten. Prices also sky rocket up since new management including 10% TAXES THEY ADD ON, they no longer do western union nor wic so keep all that in mind when shopping, your better off going to your next nearest grocery store. I just give up on this place 😪

Now called fresh value it's in transition to new owner I think. It's a lot like a food flea market. They won't have everything you want (like Libby's sausage gravy) but often have incredibdle deals on hit or miss items. Recently I've bought half gallons of ice cream, gallons of whole milk, and frozen hungry man dinners for just 99 CENTS each! They have most of the same dollar groceries as dollar tree and they always have fresh chocolate milk and my fave Borden's dip at great prices. Big sleeves of Frito lay peamuts for 65 cents. Plus the cube steak I bought from there last week was the BEST I've ever had and cheaper than Walmart, even though it was clearly fresher and better quality meat. Eckrich beef weiners for a BUCK a pack. Grilled some for chili dogs tonight. I LOVE this store. Thank you.

I like the prices they have. I do have concern with the freezer bunkers. Every time I go in there, the bunkers seem to be up to par. They seemed to be out dated because the frozen products aren't frozen enough and in the process of thawing. This needs to be check into.

The store smells like fresh blood when you walk in... I bought a pack of meat from there and it was no good. I had to take it back and the guy was kind of rude. They say it is lower prices but how is that when they are charging you double taxes.... this place sucks...

Not very expensive and not to crowded. I went at 7 PM on a Tuesday night and they had 3 registers open. I was glad to see that. It showed they care about their customers to me.

Never enough cashiers on the registers, What few they do have always seem to have the attitude that they do not want to be there and never fails that they genuinely dislike the job they have. Also, they are mad that have to ring up my groceries. On more than 1 occasion while at the register the cashiers are carrying on a conversation between the 2 of them and refuse to be courtias and stop their stories and acknowledge the customer. Unfortunately there is NO other option for groceries except Wal-Mart and your store has gone down hill so much that I am close to returning to shopping there.

The price on the item is not the actual price. Price on the item+10%+state tax=Actual price. Produce in produce section is never 100%fresh. I think the dates stamped on the hotdogs, sausages, bologna, packaged meat is fake because I've bought bologna, hotdogs and sausage links that have been spoiled when I went to cook it the next day after buying. The red rind cheese has visible mold. I went to buy eye drops and saw all the items were expired and the boxes were dusty. The only good thing about Vowells is the Hot Deli!!!!!! The best friend chicken!!!!! The deli workers are very customer friendly!!!

Prices at Shelves are different from Register where 10% is Added! $1.00 item will be 10% added for a Grand Total of $1.10. Most of Staff are quite Rude though a few are Outstanding!!!

I only go here for the deli food. It's inexpensive comfort/soul food and comes with a drink. I always get an iced tea. This is fairly unhealthy food loaded with fat, salt, and sugar. But sometimes it really hits the spot.

Oh my gosh! The best deli ever hands down. Really good prices on their meats. Also they have a whole ailse of all kinds of ice cream! Yayy! They have a space where you can sit and eat their hot food selection. Enjoy a plate of one meat and two sode and piece of bread and drink for 4.99. Cannot beat it. They also do a brown bag of canned goods for the food bank i think it is called that, so if you are into helping others with a meal or two...here is the place.

They have a better selection as far as their pick 5. I believe it’s 17.99 for 5 items. The only thing I dislike is that it’s “the neighborhood store” and by that I mean you will run into some very odd characters

CashSavers got a LOT of food & other products never before seen in any other top brand supermarkets today. Feels good seeing this store going all out against its competitors. I enjoyed shopping there. 👍

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! If you stay across the street at the Candlewood Suites looking to fill your grocery list with eatable foods. Do not purchase salt from this market if you value your life. This place is terrible, arteries in the chicken. Month old mashed potatoes and over priced junk that would be turned down by your local food bank for the hungry. This excuse for a market should pay you to shop there! Please look at the meat shelves and tell me this place shouldn't have some local municipal food safety organization shut this insane disgusting place down! This place should pay you to take junk off the shelves to save space on the landfill!

Cash Register Prices are usually wrong! Also, Don't forget that if you see a $1.00 price, then add 10% more! Stay away from the Clearance at back of store past the beer section- Some expired almost 2 Years or less! Most employees are Rude too!
