I took my 9 month old Lab to Carlos and his crew at Old Dixie Kennels to start working toward a good gun dog last November. These guys are great to work with and Carlos makes sure that his guys are doing what’s needed with every dog they work with. No shortcuts! They have fantastic facilities and do a great job of taking care of the dogs. After just 3 short months, I have a well mannered dog that still has a ton of drive and desire that he shows on each retrieve. I will continue working with him to build on his progress but Carlos laid a great foundation to build on. Carlos took the time to work with me as well to ensure the transition for Bo was seamless. I’ll definitely be back with Bo and any other dog I have be it a hunting dog or not.

Carlos and his team did an outstanding job training and caring for our German Shepard. We observed the training process on more than one occasion and the training is very compassionate and respectful of the dogs. I stared working at ODK about a year ago just cleaning and feeding the dogs on the weekend, just to help the guys out! Let me tell you it didn’t stop there, I came to have a passion and respect for dog training just seeing each dog improve everyday and the work and time they take for perfection is amazing! I soon after got a dog of my own (Grace) a Pedro pup I can tell you she will be trained just like our customers dogs. Every single dog gets the attention it takes 💯!

we had a great experience with ODK. Jeremy was very professional and took the time to explain the course training to us. He answered all of our questions and put us at ease with our concerns. We boarded our lap pup Boone for 6 weeks. Jeremy and Logan worked with us so that we could pick up Boone for weekend visits when we wanted to spend some time with him and see how his training was going.Before the obedience training Boone wasn't a bad dog but was starting to test us and began to stop listening to our commands. Barking at night was an issue.After the training from ODK, he still has his puppy personality but listens and follows all commands given. He doesn't bark at night unless someone comes up to the house he doesn't know. He loves to retrieve toys and will actually drop them for us on command. Boone has always been a water dog but now more than ever he loves to swim in our pond and play with our son affectionately. It is a real joy having a dog that is able to listen and still be a loving pup.Highly recommend to anyone who has concerns with their dogs behavior.

We met the Old Dixie crew at the NWTF convention in Nashville. After chatting for a while, I decided that they would be a great place to train our 10 month old Bluetick. Our boy was a rescue with anxiety issues, so I just couldn’t do it myself like I had done with our previous pup. We live in PA, so the only hard part was getting Durham down to Alabama. We did, and that is when the magic happened!So Carlos is the new owner of Old Dixie, and he was terrific to deal with. Covid made it hard for me to get food shipped so Carlos took care of it for me. At Old Dixie, they love dogs and it really shows. After two months I went and picked Durham up, and I just can’t believe the difference. Our dog was suddenly confident and disciplined. He listened and was proud to show us what he could do. The thing is that usually Carlos would be able to have sessions with the dog’s family to work with everyone, but since we were 11 hours away it couldn’t happen. It didn’t matter though, Carlos provided us with video updates and education on the commands that Durham now knew.After getting home to PA, it’s like we have a whole new dog. He is so easy to be around, listens so well, and is a joy. Carlos has stayed in touch and has offered to FaceTime with us for anything we need. My family is so appreciative of the caring and kindness that Carlos and his whole team treated Durham with, and the results are amazing. Not only is he trained now, but we had the peace of mind knowing that Old Dixie has a great Vet on site in case any issues arose.If you are thinking about training for your dog, you will not find better value or results anywhere else. After hunting with an ODK dog this past season I have nothing but great things to say. This dog was top notch and one of the most disciplined dogs I have ever shared a blind with. Carlos has a great training path for every caliber of dog that comes through the kennel. This is a family oriented and veteran owned kennel with a staff of passionate hunters who know what is needed out of their dogs. ODK has great customer support and genuinely wants to work with their clients. Hands down I will recommend this kennel 10/10.

We sent our lab, Ruby, to ODK for training and we couldn’t be more happy with the results. Our dogs are like our kids, and I knew we couldn’t send her just anywhere.We live in San Antonio, TX and we decided to send her 13.5 hours away to Carlos. That took some major trust on my part, but his reputation precedes him. This past weekend I went to pick Ruby up after months away, and was fortunate enough to see Carlos run multiple dogs from ODK in the HRC hunt test in Northern GA - and WOW. All of his dogs are a cut above the rest, and they all follow Carlos’s lead with confidence. Every dog passed, and Ruby amongst others got her HR title!Probably the most important thing to me though, is how they care for the dogs and how they treat them. The love these guys have for the dogs and the love they showed Ruby means the world to me. It was even tough for me to see them say goodbye to her! They pour their heart and soul into these dogs on a daily basis and it shows. Bottom line is I would send any dog to Old Dixie Kennels, hands down - I don’t care if we lived double the distance away, they would still be going to ODK.Thanks for the fire job you did with Ruby, and for answering my incessant questions along the way. I’m sure I’ll have many more!

We just got our GSP pup back, he was there about 2 full months & obedience wise turned out great. E-collar is very effective when we are out & no means no now more than before. He did very well at the end of his training time with obedience, even while we were there beside him. We have also noticed a difference in how much calmer he is at home & around other people. Wasn't very happy with how skinny he looked but could also be combination of heat & high energy levels while there. I wasn't overly happy with the "fetching process" that he was supposed to be taught and paid extra for; but may be just that day but wish there was more evidence he had learned more than what we saw.Also, with the dogs(like ours) being there more than 6 weeks or so, I wish there was more attention to cleaning/health towards the dogs. Our pup's ears were very very dirty...full of dirt & moisture, as well as, his underside.I have also recommended about 2-3 people to his kennel & obedience training. I was a little disappointed to hear , that I found out he didn't even come speak to them when they dropped their dog off & was greeted by the younger worker there for the afternoon and isn't replying to her messages. He is a great guy and has helped us very much with our pups obedience and training. He keeps up his place very well & clean environment for the dogs. He is very organized however just giving my input to possibley help his business grow in the future! I still would recommend him to my friends with fur babies just giving a little input for future improvements/business! 🐶🐶🐶

Sent our dog to Old dixie kennels for 3 months. After the first month we went to visit and things seemed to be going fine. The next month we didn't get a chance to visit but we did two months later. We went up on a random Sunday to visit and our dog was skidish of us, was VERY underweight, and no longer wanted to retrieve. We were told that he just lost his drive to retrieve and was unable to be taught. If this was true, we were unaware and still paying for no reason. So the next day we drove back and got him. He could barley walk he was so skinny, it was pathetic. He told us he just lost weight from exercising but according to the vet that was not the case. A few months after he got well we took him to a local kennel and now we have the best hunting dog we could ask for as well as a healthy and happy dog. As soon as he realized he was unable to train our dog we should have been informed, and then maybe it wouldn't have been as bad.

One week after purchasing my puppy from old Dixie kennels and paying him 9 months up front I got a phone call that he had ran my 8 week old puppy over. I understand accidents happen and he replaced my puppy with another puppy. Communication was next to impossible and being in a different state it was difficult getting ahold of Jeremy. After 4 months of training and the dog being 6 month old I decided to make a surprise visit to old Dixie and found my dog living in a crate he couldn't even stand completely up in. He was extremely skinny and scared to death of everything. I was told that my 6 month old puppy had completed force fetch and was on pile work. This couldn't be any further from the truth. My dog ran away as soon as Jermey let him out of his crate and took him 10 minutes to heard him back in. He put him on he force fetch table to show me some progression and my puppy started peeing on himself. I took him home with me that day and took him right to my vet on Monday. My vet was very concerned with the living conditions and health of my dog and claimed he had never seen plaque that bad on a 6 month old dog in his life. My dog gained 13 pounds in 10 days with a normal food diet. I have him at a new trainer now where it took 2 months of tedious work to get my dog not afraid of the sight of a white bumper. Being that I picked my dog up 2 months early Jermey owed me for 2 months which turned into a power struggle where I had to threaten him for him to reimburse me. He claimed I pulled my dog too early from his program. It has taken a little over a year to get him ready to hunt from a credible trainer unlike Jeremy. I would strongly recommend NEVER sending or purchasing a dog from old Dixie kennels or Jeremy Jones.

Took my dog to ODK for basic obedience and she changed in just 1 visit! I ended up doing a 6 week program there and Jeremy was great working with her. Now my dog listens to me with no problems at all. I totally recommend ODK!
