I absolutely love this place! The entire staff has great customer service! They get a little loud between 9am-1pm on the first floor, so hopefully if you're here for work, you're gone by then! They're down to earth here and very reasonable. The lady at the front desk even helped me with some supplies to make this V-day a good one for my Bae. I'll definitely be back! Rooms: They have the entire Dove collection of toiletries at your disposal, so you'd be covered from head to toe, even lotion! They also have the complimentary razors, toothpaste, etc. at your request. The beds and pillows are plush, and the water pressure in the shower is awesome!Nearby activities: I'm just visiting my man while he travels for work so I'm not here for any activities, but I can tell you the location is about 5-8 min from Walmart, restaurants and at least 1 nail shop... Though as a city dweller you might expect super country in Selma, this area is decent and civilized! You can definitely get yourself together if you come here last minute!

This IHG property is exceptional beautiful and accommodating. My family always stay here when we visit Selma for business or personal events. Ms. Alysia, Ms Georgia, Ms. Tasha, Mr. Patrick and the rest of the staff is the epitome of warm friendly southern hospitality. Being a Diamond Elite Member of IHG and staying at various property, I can say without a shadow of dealt...The Currys love it here. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and friendly staff are top on our list and this hotel delivers all of them. Thanks Selma IHG, we will be back.

The front desk person was great. The heat in the room wouldn't work on auto it had to be set to ON. The carpet in the room was dirt and needs to be replaced. The elevator didn't work and had to walk up to the 3rd floor. They moved me to a handicap room on the first floor, and the numbers on the heater couldn't be read. The carpet in that room was so dirty that I had to keep my shoes on after my sock got so dirty I had to throw them away.Rooms: The hotel needs to upgrade everything in the rooms. The dust was plenty in both rooms. The refrigerator wasn't cold. The carpet needs to be replaced. The ice bucket was nasty.

The beds were so comfortable. I slept great. The coffee and free breakfast were delicious. The staff was nice. My only issue really was that the shower curtain wouldn't close and the bathroom could have been a little cleaner.Noteworthy details: The bedding felt like I was sleeping on fluffy marshmallow clouds.

Negatives - Unfortunately during my week and a half stay, my group had ~10 cockroach sightings inside and outside of our rooms. My shower had mold on the ceiling since the bathroom fan didn’t work. Housekeeping cleaned my room about half the time and half way each time. The front desk and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful but the place definitely needs some work.

This has been an disappointing experience stay here first I'm somewhat handicap restricted from stairs as well as my elderly mom to get here to find out there's no elevator for use, my mom had to find some where else to stay . Get up to the room finely to enter a stinking wet stinch unless you turn on the air , ants crawling on the table while trying to eat , dirty tub, cook staff rude , I would not ever stay here again or recommend to anyone smh . PS. The beds were comfortable.

If I could have given this place a six star rating I would have!!! After having stayed in a location that was very fearful lol we came here and finished out our stay in Alabama. I believe the managers name was Mary Bell, she was absolutely delightful. Customer service was absolutely second to none!!! Took incredible care of us, even helped us in our room when we got the key stuck. She made sure that we had everything we needed especially after having told her the nightmare we had experienced in the hotel that we stayed at a few days before. She is an absolute gem!!! She showed us to our rooms and let me tell you, the rooms were absolutely magnificent!!! Everything was perfect, everything was clean, everything looked amazing. I definitely recommend this location to anyone. Please go see Mary Bell, she will take incredible care of you. And let me just take a moment to tell you about breakfast. Lord have mercy, that breakfast deserves a five star rating all on its own!!! We have been working up in this area for a week and this was the first hot delicious meal that we have had. That breakfast definitely exceeded our expectations. Biscuits and gravy, hot coffee, scrambled eggs, cheese omelettes, bacon galore. The fresh hot swirl cinnamon rolls were through the roof. They definitely do breakfast right!!! This place was awesome. Highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and stay here.

“Disappointment for a Holiday Inn Express” as said by the previous reviewer - couldn’t agree more. This is the least maintained HIE we’ve stayed at and we’ve stayed in some questionable areas. The shower head was held up by a couple of tied plastic Walmart bags. Trashy and gross! Next time I’ll stay somewhere similar that costs less or somewhere nicer for what this place charges.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!!!!Let me say, I generally do not write reviews but in light of my extremely poor experience I want to shed light on this situation. This hotel I have tried to avoid like the plague because of my previous issues, but I will say in the previous incidents the staff were very gracious in apologizing. Not this time. To preface this is Selma Alabama so the hotel options are very limited, literally 2-3 in the entire town that you can consider staying in. I say that to give some explanation as to why we chose this location after previous issues. When checking in (reservation made abt 2 months in advance) I waited (literally) in line for almost an hour. It was painfully obvious the woman at the front desk had minimum knowledge of what she was doing. When it was finally my turn I could tell she was yet again having a problem, when she tells me oh we don’t have this room anymore. Ma’am what do you mean you don’t have my room anymore. She says we gave them all away earlier. Then proceeds to tell me how it’s not her fault, I should have called them to reserve my room instead of doing it online. Which makes not a bit of sense. Her attitude was beyond rude and disgusting, so then abruptly walks off and goes back to talk to the “manager” who tell me basically the same thing and suggests I just take a double bed, after paying for the suite. This is not feasible as we have a toddler and another person in the room. So she says oh I found one you are all set. Gives me a key and we go to our room and of course it’s not a suite. Go back to the front desk and wait another 30 minutes to be told oh idk we just don’t have it then. The customer service was less than sub-par! You would have thought these women were brought off the street to start a fight with every guest member.

The room was clean enough. We were given 2 towels for 4 people. Had to ask for more. The pool was a mess. Breakfast was pretty good. It's kind of a disappointment for a holiday Inn express.Rooms: Clean room

A/Cs in all rooms need upgraded. It was either full on or off, no temperature adjustment, and had to ask for assistance to figure out how to even turn it on, i.e. had to press shut off/reset switch at the plug where it was plugged into the wall receptacle. Was full on all night at low temp, luckily the blanket on the bed was thick enough, or would have frozen. Otherwise, great service, nice people, and a fine room. Just fix theA/Cs, Holiday Inn Express.

I stayed this last weekend for a local event, and was extremely pleased with the cleanliness and service. I work in the hospitality industry, and am one of those people who thoroughly check things before I set my luggage down. Literally the only (quickly resolved) issue I had was someone had unplugged the HDMI cable in my room from the main outlet and I missed seeing where it was supposed to go. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was spotless and had better water pressure than my shower at home. The breakfast bar in the morning had a great selection of both hot and cold choices and the coffee bar was ready early enough that people could have coffee quickly if that was all they wanted. I will definitely be booking here again for any events we have here in the future. By the way, the staff on every shift was both friendly and helpful.

My family and I stayed at this hotel during the summer. We were in town for the funeral of a family member. We arrived very late in the night to an alert and very friendly front desk representative. Our room was very clean and the tempature was nice and cool for a hot July night. The following morning, we were greeted by hotel manager Marybeth. She directed us to the breakfast where there was a variety of breakfast choices that were very well presented. As we were leaving for the funeral, I informed the front desk that I had accidentally got my room key stuck in the reader. They told me to go and be with my family and they would have the issue resolved when we returned. As promised, the issue had been resolved when we returned.I can't begin to express how comforting the entire staff was to me and my family during our stay. Marybeth, Geraldine and Chris thank you again for making our stay special.

The room was very clean, But when I looked up the paint from the ceiling was falling. The phone was not working, because there was no cord from the receiver to the phone. I enjoyed the exercise room but the TVs in there did not work no internet connections. There was no container in the room for ice. The person at the front desk was very nice. When I talk to her that's when I found out that the hotel was under construction and they were remodeling the hotel. I Will go back on my next trip to Selma and give them another chance.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was in room 302 and the door wouldn't lock. I moved the latch so the door couldn't open all the way. The next day I left and came back and realized my door was open/unlocked. I thought the cleaning crew didn't see the don't disturb on the door. I soon realized the cleaning crew never came in. I immediately took inventory of all my things. Nothing was missing but I was bothered because anyone could have entered. I called front desk about the door and they said they will send maintenance. Two hours later no maintenance, so I decided to go to front desk. I'm at the elevator, the elevator comes up, I get on and the door closes, it makes elevator noise, the door opens and a guy gets on and hits the 2nd floor button. I got on the elevator on the 3rd floor, I thought he got on at 2nd floor. When the door closed we soon realized the elevator is broken. The hotel staff is terrible.

We came through and spent the night. The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Our room was clean and it was quiet, even though we were near the lobby and directly across from the gym. The breakfast the next morning was good and they even had turkey sausage! Which I find hard to come by when traveling. The turkey sausage was very good too. Had a wonderful man taking care of the breakfast room. Very friendly and helpful. I know all this sounds like ok, but why 5 stars, you should be getting good service, clean rooms, etc. anyway? Well, no you don't always get that either when traveling, so that's why the rating. We would stay there again!!!

My bedsheets were dirty. Yellow stains on sheets and makeup or grime on covers. Had definitely not been changed, just re-made.I called down, I was told to pack up and come to the front desk, and was handed a new room by an unapologetic attendant who assured me she had nothing to do with the cleaning staff. How reassuring...

I had one night stay for business in September. The facility was reasonably clean and well kept during this Covid-19 pandemic. However, I don't like the AC in the room which was constantly running. Also, I understand why they offered the bag breakfast to go instead the conventional buffet, buy still, the variety and quality of the food in the bag was very poor.

Although not as nice as it once was, it is still a decent place to stay. The room was clean. My only complaint is there was no one at the front desk when I checked out in the morning, and I had to call several times for a copy of the final receipt. As of now, I still have not received it after calling and the front desk person seemed as though he was entering my email while I was on the phone. I just called again, and was told he would give it to the manager who comes in at 11pm… we’ll see!

This location could use a little updating. One problem I had and mentioned to staff was the location of the shower turn on. Apparently it was under the faucet, not visible to the naked eye. The instruction label was worn with just the image of the shower head visible, all direction rubbed off.The staff was very friendly.

Absolutely phenomenal. The hotel is almost done with its renovations and the new design is gorgeous. The rooms are very spacious and makes you really feel like you’re getting the most for your money. The staff are some of the most hard working, friendly people that I have seen in any hotel. I highly, HIGHLY recommend staying here during your stay in Selma.

The breakfast was good, but they ran out of most things and the person running the breakfast was in no hurry restock the items. They had to move us to another room due to the smell in one room and because they didnt want to put a rollaway bed in another room. The front desk staff was very nice. My biggest complaint is the bathroom in the room was filthy. It had someone else's hair all over the floor, had to take a towel to clean it up myself. Also, you could see someone else's pubic hair under the toilet seat, meaning the seat was clean but the cleaning crew did not clean under the toilet seat or the floor, hair was everywhere in the bathroom. I wont stay there again while traveling through the area.

It is currently under renovation and all issues should be fixed once its complete. Our first room had issues with the tv and that foom's replacement had a leak in the bathtub. We were moved from a double to a king and were told we would get a price reduction due to the respective price differences and the inconvenience of moving. Our other room had some minor finishing touch things (outlet cover missing, shower curtain ripped). Our reservation was for two rooms. The beds were very comfortable, the breakfast tasty, and the staff were very personable.

The hotel is run down, carpets are disgusting in the rooms, the doors in the bathrooms have gotten wet by the showers so many times they are rotting. The hotel smells, especially the elevator. Hotel rooms aren’t worth what you pay for them. The experience for my husband and I was bad. I got the room by using Priceline which over charged us. I ended up washing everything when I got home due to the smell of the hotel. And I always held my breath in the elevator due to such a smell. Holiday Inn Company should be ashamed for not getting onto the local owners and making them do a good cleaning. I sure hope I don’t have bed bugs. One last thing the walls on the elevator were disgusting. I think next time when I visit my family we will stay in Prattville
