Yes, all the reviews were correct - as soon as you get off the elevator,  the hall smells like the smoking area  - the bathroom had a sour smell like old piss - the food was nothing but a waffle maker and 3 bagels - no coffee in the pot and one bottle of chocolate milk that was sour - boy that left a bad taste in my mouth - the lady working the afternoon was rude - but the TV and the ac worked and the bed slept good and they're plenty of places to eat around here - and I got done what I needed to do - hopefully I won't need to come back here.

Considering the price, I KNEW this would be a bare bones basic hotel stay. We brought most everything we needed. Good thing too. We didn't arrive until almost midnight. We requested a cot OR a couple of extra blankets for a pallet. The first night the extra blanket had cigarette burns all over it. I had to ask repeated for a pillow. I brought the burned blanket back down stairs and requested another. The guy working nights had an awful attitude anytime you asked him for anything. Also you only get ONE SMALL PILLOW PER PERSON. SMALL!!!! When I turned down my blanket there was cigarette ash all over the sheets. My kids had already crashed so I just brushed it off and threw something over it and requested it be changed the following day because we reserved two days. We got up in the morning for breakfast and the bagels were stale. The fruit was wrinkled. They were almost out of juice and after the night before I wasn't even going to request anything because I don't enjoy being treated poorly. We left had breakfast elsewhere so do not expect to eat the free breakfast. We left around 9am and didn't return until after 5pm. Due to the weather we needed to wash clothes. I asked for change downstairs to be told they didn't have any. So then I tried using the vending machines for change. I received just enough for the wash 1.50 before the candy machine ate my money and wouldn't do anything. Again due to not wanting to be poorly treated I let it slide. Then my daughters wanted a snack and needed more change for the dryer. So they went to a DIFFERENT vending machine and again it ate their money. Some one else came by and trying to cheer my teenage girls up made jokes and beat on the vending machine. Then a "resident"/employee" of the hotel blamed my girls for beating on her door and the guy from the night before came out berating my teens. They lost 5 dollars and finally only got a 3 musketeers and a bag of m&Ms . Peanut no less. My daughter is ALLERIC to nuts. She wanted regular M&Ms. They came back to room to tell us this. We went to bed after a finally getting the quarters for the dryer. 90 minutes. We get up at 3am and our clothes are still wet. I go to another vending machine. The drink machine. We haven't used it yet. 1.00 in nickles and dimes, no return. 1 in cash. No return. Out of ALL drinks, no sign. I finally go down stairs and talk to King Rude who was ASLEEP. I woke him up after 5 minutes and he does give me back my$ 2.00 and I go across the street to the Mapco to get change to dry my clothes. At 3AM. We were planning on staying Sunday too but due to this experience we bolted at 9am again. Didn't even try the breakfast again after my husband said it was the same as the day before. Worst hotel experience ever. My husband did speak to the day person on the final day who was very nice but the damage was already. Avoid this hotel at all cost. We only stayed because of the price and the location but would have been better off spending the extra $100.00 to stay elsewhere.

Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was awful. NO tongs to pick up bagels or boiled eggs. No meats or scrambled eggs. No yogurt. No coffee was made, had to ask the second person to get coffee made. Only creamer was powdered coffee creamer for coffee. Unorganized set up. Items such as coffee creamer was not labeled. I will stay here again because of convenience but take Breakfast elsewhere.

I've stayed at this Super 8 twice now and I have my 3rd visit set up for the 27th, just a few days away from today. This time I'm moving to the area and bringing my animal with me so I'm praying for a room on the first floor as my 7 month old puppy doesn't know stairs or elevators yet.The rooms were clean and the beds were really comfy. I'm not a good sleeper and very picky about beds so this says a lot. Not enough pillows but the next morning we asked for a couple more and all was then good. Front desk employees have always been really nice, personable and accommodating. Breakfast is a typical continental style and I enjoyed it, they were well stocked with everything. AC was on the louder side with my last stays but many hotels are like this, it's not their fault that my hearing is much too good and with that being said, I always travel with earplugs.Can't wait to get there again...just a few more days. Gonna use the laundry and pool, relaxing and not searching for a home to buy this time.Everything is close and convenient too.I feel very comfy staying here and I would absolutely recommend this hotel!Edit....I'm here now and the AC isn't loud in this room.

Convenient location. Clean and safe outside. Outstanding personal service. Room was dated but clean and comfortable. Minimal breakfast. Will definitely stay there again. Pet friendly.Walkability: Next door to DOLLAR General and Dominoes Pizza.

First off sure enough I slept threw time to cheak out I'm sure pretty much everyone has dune that not meaning to of so usually house keeping will have a key and come and say house keeping but instead these folks call the rainsville law on me so instead of them coming in to wake me they send the police instead I'm like wow what did i do frfr so I went down to try and just pay for another night mind you 109 bucks spend the night before well she says my manager said u could not stay another night I swear didn't damage nothing was very quiet so whe the girl at the desk Said I couldn't stay another night I said call the manager so I can ask her what I did so wrong like seriously so she storms away says I'm calling the police again lmao really cause I ask what I did so bad that I wanted to hear and ask her manager what was up didn't do a damn thing it was crazy honest to God it was very wrong very disrespectful left my charger cigs and some more things because I was shocked hurrying up cause the law was waiting on Me to escort me out so I will call them and speak with the mAnger to get an understanding seriously I deserve that and my things that I left frfr

Location was great, pool was clean,1 bed was more comfortable than the other one, 1 was lumpy soft the taller one was more comfortable. Room was cleanWas on 2nd floor. Was pretty quiet.Only complaint would be in the bathroom, no vent so it was hot in there, the light over tub barely lit up.Overall the price was fine for what you get.

Wish I had remembered staying here. We just stayed again and upon arrival had to ask for a different room because it was so smoky. They begrudgingly moved us to another room which didn't smell but had no heat. The desk person was aware of that because they responded by saying to unplug it and plug it in again. That didn't work. The tub was so dirty I had to stand on a towel while in the shower! Breakfast was all carbs and they were out of coffee. Not impressed.From 2 years ago...When we got to our room housekeeping had missed it. They changed us to another room, which looked moderately clean except had no towels. But it turned out the stain on the bathroom floor was mold. Huge area! Nasty! Also the inside of the refrigerator was gross.

Don't plan on getting breakfast here...practically non-existent. Rooms were okay, but could use a little deep cleaning in places. Carpet was only moderately sticky. The heat/air unit in room 215 had multiple kinds of mold growing out of the vents. I really didn't want to turn it on but it was getting cold in the room. Beds weren't bad, but I had to fold up a jacket and put it under my "pillow" to make it high enough. The "queen" beds were also more narrow than a standard residential queen bed....felt more like a full size bed. We had three towels in the room for a party of four. Was looked at with suspicion by the front desk clerk when I requested more the next day. They were nice towels, but if I were going to steal something it probably wouldn't be made of terrycloth. We had a non-smoking room which didn't smell like smoke, but the hallways all smell like a giant community ash tray at every Waffle House you've ever been to. The TV in Room 217 (next door) stayed on ALL. NIGHT. LONG and was playing something on a continual loop so that was pretty disturbing. The had the "do not disturb" sign out. I sure hope I didn't disturb them any when I frantically beat on the door before ducking into the elevator the morning we left. I didnt say anything to the front desk...it wouldn't have mattered. Location isn't bad...just a few minutes out of Ft. Payne and not far enough from the local attractions to make a difference. Wireless internet was actually very good and the room had a nice big TV.If you go, pack a pillow, some ear plugs, some Lysol spray and a few extra pair of socks.Rooms: It's a Super 8 so don't expect the Ritz Carlton. At the same time, even Super 8 CAN and SHOULD do a little better. Black mold, probably toxic, growing from the AC unit? C'mon!!

I was there for a week. The hotel and rooms were well maintained, they did not allow noise to filter in from one room to another. Although smoking was allowed in some rooms, the smell did not enter my room. The hotel staff was so friendly and more than accommodating. The property manager, Amanda was helpful, friendly and more than willing to do what she could to make the stay a pleasant experience. I will certainly use them again if I am back in the area.

Really nice room, especially for the price!! Room was clean and well maintained. It was also quiet. Granted it was a Sunday night, but still you can tell when there is good sound protection between them. I would definitely book here again. No question. I recommend this place to all. Oh, and Domino's pizza is right next door as is a great local place for wings and chicken.Stayed there again three days later on the way back through. Same high rating as before. Shukria gentelmen!

Never got to stay in room I made online reservations for. Paid for 2 weeks. Arrived from Ohio when I got there guy named mahon night shift refused are reservation even though it was confirmed and accepted . He got rude with me in front of other customers when I showed him my receipt....said he wanted more money. I had travel agent talk to him. We got a refund and slept at rest area because it was late at nightNoteworthy details: Unfriendly clerk night shift . Beware will not take online reservations. Will demand more money. DID YOU INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER WITH YOUR EMPLOYEE REFUSING ONLINE RESERVATION

It was so bad that I chose to sleep in my car. The man at the front desk was friendly and helpful, but the room was awful. There was a bug on the wall and stains on every surface (bed, floor, walls, ceiling, chair). The room was nonsmoking but smelled like smoke. The pillows were strangely small. They were the size of pillows you'd have on a couch. Lastly, there was a bottle of personal lubricant in the bed. I simply walked back out, left the keys at the front desk, and slept in my car.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The amount of hot water made it all worth it. My only complaint was the bathroom, not so much on the clean side, hair left in the tub, the floor needed to be swept, and the dried pee on the side of the toilet. Other than that the room was among some of the better that I have had, especially for the price.

We made last minute reservations through Booking so I'm trying not to be picky. The rate was great and lots cheaper than other places in Fort Payne we had looked at. I think that is the important part since we hardly used the room over the last three days..The room is outdated: which I read in other reviews but I didn't expect dirty carpet. However, it is a pet room so again I'm trying not to be that person. We were left alone and the hotel is quiet. The staff is friendly too. There was no breakfast (Covid-19) but that wasn't i big deal to us. All and all it was okay. If possible we would book again.

Absolutely loved the 3 ladies at the front desk I had the pleasure of dealing with, this motel does not feel like a super 8. High quality in every way from the staff to the very updated modern rooms. Breakfast was amazing every morning, very clean. Myself and my family will be staying here again most definitely, I want to thank Mersha and Brandi especially for being so helpful. A job very well done.

The gentleman who checked me in at 2pm was nice and welcoming. The 'bad': there was urine stains at the bottom of the toilet, the coffee tops did not match the cups in the room or at breakfast, the Wifi went out and informed the front desk and without even checking just stated, "Oh, it shut off, it will be back" - as if this is a common occurrence (I did find humor as everyone else in the hotel got their hotspots out - The Wifi never did come back on before I left) also for the owner the spout in the tub is not connected to the wall and sealed with chalk. The 'good' Overall the room was clean, bed was very comfortable and happy with my stay. I would recommend.
