The service in person is fine, but for local delivery the shoes packed in the box still had stains on the shoe, so I had to drive to Prattville just to get a pair with no stains. Can’t fully blame the store as a whole, may have been a situation where the store associate did not recognize it, but other than that they have great sales so these Nike Monarchy’s aka Dad shoes are very comfortable, stylish, yes, I said stylish lol and affordable!

Very clean and well taken care of store. Went there looking for shoes and found under armor shoes on sale. I'm used to paying around 120 dollars a pair but got these for 44 dollars. It's always good to get a bargain. Also picked up some planters fasciitis inserts for the shoes that seem to really work. Really nice store.

Wish I could give them negative stars been over a year over 83.47 they can't seem to pay back that was over payed to them. They decided as it was an over payed balance that they sent us a check of 83.47 that bounced a year of countless hours and over draft fees of that bounced check that they wrote. They refunded the 17 check bounce fee but for whatever reason they have kept the 83.47 and keep saying they payed it but it was with a bounced check.

The staff and store are nice. However, my visit was just a tad disappointing yesterday morning (6/30/2023 @ 10:26) The cashier asked if we were military which we are so she looked at my ID and said she applied the discount (discount is for a limited time only). It wasn't until getting home that I realized she did not give me the discount. It's not a huge deal and I'm not mad. The point is that she asked and announced aloud what the amount was with the discount (despite not ever applying it).If you are planning to purchase something and using this discount, check you receipt after purchase.

Had my receipt, i had to threaten to call corporate, to getvthe 14.99 item returned, then she refused to give me a receipt, online orders do not come with a paper receipt, mine was paypal receipt, rude, misinformed about company policy, i dont go there often, only if i HVE TO

Great experience at all points. Went in looking for something their website said they had but wasn't on the floor. Young man helped me out and we found two of what I was looking for in the back area of the store. Purchase was quick and when my guy showed up to pick up my purchase he had no issues. Great service and their staff is a 7 out of 10.

I have never in my life had a worser shopping experience than I've had at this Academy Sports + Outdoors location on Sunday, August 27th. All I wanted to do is an even exchange, with my 8 day old receipt and original form of payment and identification,if needed. Customer service couldn't even get anyone on the phone to assist me. I will be shopping elsewhere for my sporting goods. NEVER AGAIN!

I ordered a grill and grill cover online. Cool, that was easy. Get to the store for pickup, no one says a single word to me. Just stuck their hand out for my online receipt. Then, they loaded my items & walked off. Not a word. No "Thanks", no "come again"... nothing. To top it off they gave me the wrong grill cover. Now I'm privileged to go back & have it exchanged. Really NOT looking forward to it since this impression has been made.

We stopped here for some golf equipment. Specifically we were looking for new golf bags to purchase. The inventory in the golf section was sparse. Very surprising for a sporting goods store only a minute away from the largest Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail site in Capitol Hill.The management here really needs to reevaluate their golf section. It needs to be upgraded.

Big box sporting goods store. They had the chest waders I was looking for and it was lower than their competition at Bass pro. Besides hunting and fishing sporting goods, they also sell golf, exercise, baseball, football, biking, swimming, camping, and many other sporting goods. Academy also has a large clothing and shoe departments. They also sell grills and grilling accessories.

Tends to usually have what i’m looking for regarding sports or anything athletic. I came here for some tennis rackets and prices were a little high but I got what I needed. They have lots of good baseball equipment. It’s a pretty good sports store.

Always have great name brand items at great prices. I shop there mostly at Christmas for for sons & grandson hunting clothing. I always get up to date hunting clothes with lots of different styles. Checking out your items with little wait time & friendly service. Over-all grat place to shop...

Normally a great store. I've spent thousands of dollars here. Disappointed today when they wanted my ID to be able to sell me a small folding pocket knife. FYI, there are no state or federal laws governing the age to buy one of those tools. They wouldn't give on it; stated it was a store policy. Heck, I've never been carded buying ammo here before. Anyway, walked away and left $200 of merchandise on the counter. Guess I'll move online for purchasing these things from other suppliers.

Has equipment for most of the sports and activities for this area. Cashiers are friendly and quick with transactions. When lines started to build up the staff acted quickly and opened extra registers to get people checked out and on their way. The military discount is now seasonal.

Place was crazy for Black Friday after work, but I was able to ask a young man who was busy facing shelves for assistance. He was extremely helpful and got a flat cart to load my heavy workout equipment (50% Off!), showed me which barcodes to take photos of for the cashier, and took my stuff to the loading dock out back, where pickup was a breeze. Long lines but checkout moved fast.You have a great customer service representative in Sebastian. He deserves a raise, I'm sure! I'll be back. Very pleased with my visit!

My son loves to beat up the man muscle equipment... whatever it's called. I love Academy Sports because it's always clean and everyone is super friendly. I ordered my stepsons football cleats and they had to ship from another store. I made the purchase online, and before I opened my eyes the next morning, I received a text that they were ready to be picked up. When I went to pick themup I was in a rush because my step-son needed them before practice. This was the best seamless transaction I have ever experienced in my life. I was in and out in less than five minutes. Bravo to lady sitting in the front of the door that, bravo the gentleman that brought me my bag with the shoes already in it. Yay to Academy Sports as an organization, and yay to the Prattville location!!

Purchased Justin boots for my grandson last week. Discovered nails protruding in the heels. Tried to exchange last night. Was met at the door with a very rude employee. We could not find the receipt. Refused to exchange. You can refuse exchange without being so rude.

Hiking shoes are really priced well. I bought some Skechers that were less expensive than Amazon. Their collegiate hoodies were on clearance and an extra 30 percent off. Priced better than Walmart. Very well stocked and helpful associates

Very "cold" store. I asked for info from an employee as I entered (she was at a small lecture type desk near the entrance), had to ask twice before she even acknowledged me then she said they didn't carry the item (I was there because the item was listed on line as carried here) but if they did it would be over there (she waved towards a corner of the store). Since she had done no more than piss me off, I walked the whole store looking for the item I wanted (an arm holster for a cell phone). During the whole tour, I never saw another employer I could ask for help. As I exited, I noticed the cashiers did not seem to care at all about being friendly towards the customers trying to check out. I will never return to this dump.

This place was good but they had a goofy looking Jeep out front no fault of their own
