OMG it was so very frustrating the other night trying to run in at the last minute and purchase just a couple things I really needed. An employee I've never recalled seeing before is there right with me striking up conversations about the things I was buying he even interrupted a conversation I was having with the person I came with and as him and I were talking this employee says ,"That makes the items 2$ each!" Well, yes I understood that but as I tell him it still helps me not bc the only kind I'm wanting they don't have. I tell him how good it is maybe they could order it and I don't remember what exactly he says next but I tell him yes, they are available bc Dollar General carries it, and oh my goodness.... I said the wrong thing! Anyhoo I got away but only to be met in the frozen food section, then where the salads are kept. It's so close to closing and he brings out all these chocolate covered strawberries and has his cart blocking me showing them to me going on and on. Later down another isle I'm getting frustrated bc I can't find bacon bits but he's telling me where they are! I just walk away from my buggy looking for my friend and next thing you know he's pushing my buggy and he approaches me asking if I filled the buggy up just to leave it for other people to put the stuff back. Well, I wasn't planning on it but it sounded like a fine idea. So I did. I don't know what the world is his deal but it was surely a very weird experience as well as frustrating.🤔 😔😶‍🌫️🤐

This is a mainstay in my life. I am partial to Hill's for many reasons. Let me say this. The employees at the registers have not changed in my memory. And the manager is one tough cancer beating,working while fighting it, working long hours during that time period also. She was just unstoppable and worked her way into the management position because she deserved it. I feel great that a small grocery store that has been right where it is and has only had one major sign change since I can remember. I say that in a good way. This is one of those places that a community has supported and shopped locally so that it is still up and running. People have retired from this grocery store. That is just not something you see these days as often as we would like to. Imagine Food Giant in Hueytown. It's much the same. Imagine Julian's Hardware in Sylvan Springs. These are the small town stores that we just would not allow to be mowed over by a random conglomerate that truly doesn't ever feel like a mainstay does like Hill's.. love this place.

Great customer service, high prices. Molly, one of the cashiers, is so sweet. She ALWAYS welcomes every customer that comes through the door and is quick to help. She’s just, overall, a friendly person. Since Hill’s is a smaller store, the prices are higher but the customer service makes up for it. My only real complaint is the way they bag groceries. Even though I put my items on the belt in the perfect order to be bagged, they still bag all sorts of stuff together. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve discovered a cold items in the bag with the snacks the next day.

Hill's Foodland is like Pleasant Grove's personal grocery store, this is the "go-to" spot that's been around for years & years and everyone knows about it. The staff are friendly and the owner is such a lovely man. You are welcomed like you're part of the family here. This business is up to date in regards with their online website portal; you can view items & their price, you can catch up on the latest deals & coupons, and you can also do your shopping online & order ahead for pick up. I could go on & on about allllllllll the things I like about Hill's but I believe I've said enough. Beyond pleased with how well this establishment is doing & has been doing for all these years! There's a reason why this bad boy has been with us for so long!

Amazing service!! Amazing food! Great street tocas! Good drinks! Wonderful free chips and salsa..great setting. There food is so good! There California burrito is huge and very good!!chicken breast and vegetables is also a Amazing dish!! 5 stars easily!!!! I love this place!! Great staff!

They do a great job as far as I can tell. I don't get a chance to go by there as often as I would like but everytime me and my little girl walk in the door we have the same experience!! Someone very nice will greet us and ask if we need help finding anything and the store always looks clean, organized, fronted, and well stocked!! Also, they have a good selection of meats and the ground beef and steaks are usually priced at a good deal.. I always appreciate the guys who work in the meat department too.. Very friendly and more than happy to stop and answer any and all of my questions.. They seem to know what's going on around there🙂and are always very knowledgeable about the product and how to prepare it.. I've had nothing but good experiences at Hill's!!

Local grocery store. Was able to purchase what I needed.Cashier was new and one of my items wouldn't scan and I wanted to put back some of the potatoes because they rang up $10.00. Cashier was able to take Care of me in a professional manner and meet all my needs with a pleasant smile.

Most times when I go in the store it smells horrible. It could have just opened and it smells. They need to keep their meat traps clean of the dry and fresh blood. They are very pricey but the staff is really friendly. They have excellent customer service the store just smells and need some price adjustments.

I absolutely love Hills and have for many years of the staff is amazing from Miss Molly to Mr Johnny they are all one of a kind. Service is top notch. So go on down to your hometown store. You won't be disappointed

Not a comfortable environment / was followed around by an employee, several times, on several different occasions, not sure why. I've had this happen several times, literally ,Ray Charles would notice. Just my experience may not be yours. Just my experience. I found all items for which I was shopping. At the check-out, I didn't have a long wait; there was an adequate number of cashiers. All employees that I encountered during my time at Hill's were both friendly & helpful.This evening, I give Hill's Foodland 5 stars easily.

Pleasant Grove's hometown grocery store is full of friendly, helpful employees. It has the feel of traditional family owned hometown stores. Prices are very reasonable and they have a wide variety of goods.

They have a lot of things but not everything. I definitely couldn’t shop here for all my groceries. What they do have is fine and they are close. Their prices aren’t terrible and their employees are nice.
