So I used to live in Phenix City and the old pet store I grew up going to is closed. The past few times my kids and I have come back to my hometown we have stopped in this store to look and awe over the animals. The first thing my girls ask is to see Jasper, the beautiful Macaw. The owners are so kind to us even though we don’t buy anything. They let my girls touch pet and hold animals. They take such wonderful care and pride into their store and animals. This is our new favorite!!!!

We just moved to Pine Mountain, Ga. And called around looking for live feeder rats for our four ball pythons and found Animal Cove Pets & Pet Grooming in Phoenix City, Alabama. Drove the 38 minutes to get there and received excellent customer service as soon as we walked in the door. Definitely worth the drive and they had great prices!! Will definitely be going back in the future.

I never leave reviews, but. The lady that works there, really helped me get my ball python to eat. I've been stressing for 3 months since I got him, he wouldn't eat anything. She asked for pics of him and his tank info. She found the right feeder for him. And he ate this morning. I'm so grateful for this lady. She took the time to help me with my snake baby. They will definitely keep my business. Thank God for people like them to take time to help customers take care of their animal babies.

This establishment met all expectations for a first time grooming of our family dog. I was kept apprised throughout the day if there might be any delays on him getting finished.If you're in the Phenix City area and in need of a groomer or just want to walk around a local pet store. This is your place to visit!

Phillip was extremely helpful in getting us set up with our new budgies! He was happy to answer all of our first time questions and offered great advice on getting them tame and training tips! 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

I love this store and I bought a sun conure from Phillip, the owner, and Twitter brings me so much joy! Phillip is so knowledgeable and just a wonderful person and I love that he clips their nails for free too! He also clips wings if you need it, but I am not an advocate of that. Birds are meant to fly. ❤️ Anyway, check out this wonderful store! You won’t be sorry. He hand raises a lot of the birds he sells.

Have been in before Phillip was extremely nice and helpful. However today I went by with my older children 17/19 (not littles acting crazy) and the lady was extremely rude. We definitely won’t be back! We went in looking to purchase a ball python for my 24 yr old, there was one I was going to get, instead we left and will not return.

Very knowledgeable people run this business, they are kind hearted and truly care about animal health and wellness. Very healthy rodents for sale. When you enter the store you are greeted by the sweetest parrots. Great place to do business.

My ball python (Lieutenant Dan) is a picky eater and refuses to eat anything other than live. He’d truly rather starve. He’s at that weird stage where he’s in between food sizes. I’ve never had a problem finding something that works here and they’ve always been insanely helpful. They always have something new as far as ball python morphs and at a pretty decent price for the size and genetics. I really like that they get their reptiles from local breeders.

I got my rat boys from here a few months ago! It's a nice little shop and the employees are really friendly and helpful. I said I was looking for rats and the lady was happy to help, even pointing out a particular one to me that I ended up taking along with two more. They're wonderful little guys, they were well taken care of and very healthy, and the price was great too. I really love (and encourage others to do so as well) getting rats from small local businesses like this and I plan to get my rats here in the future!

it was ok. was excited to have a non chain local pet store but I guess I over thought it! items priced fine for what they were but super limited selection. SUPER disappointed in animal care- no heat or humidity on the ball pythons, mice had no hides or chews, and why would the guinea pigs not have hay? it's the #1 staple of their diet, and should consume a pile twice the size of their body a day. no hay remnants in the wood chips (which causes URI due to how dusty they are) so I'm not sure they've had it at all.

Everyone is so nice and sweet, and Jasper is always very talkative. I got my snake from there and he is very nice and you can tell he was handed very well, sometimes they let the birds out and you can hold them! This place was by far my favorite animal shop!!

Great service and prices. We took our Great Pyrenees there for grooming and Katie did a fantastic job on him and did NOT cut him like a poodle!! We buy our bearded dragon food here now as well. Great local shop with very friendly owners. Highly recommend.

Great customer service but didn't have many different pet options. Animals were highly taken care of and loved properly. Only lack I'd say was when asking questions regards animal habit and diet. The info was not great when customers are buying a pet or animal t they know nothing about or anyone for that matter.

We visit here often. What a wonderful place. If you are looking for a Great Pet Groomer this is definately the place. Katie does such a AWESOME JOB. She is genuinely concerned for the pets and offers a variety of ideas for cuts. She does all of our babies...as well as my Mothers.She recently groomed our pup Murphy and wow what a diff. He looks amazing...there is no groomer around here as good in my opinion.Thanks for all the wonderful help and caring. John

I would like to 1st say that Mr Phillip and Katilyn are the best. I decided I wanted a bird baby but didn't know exactly what kind. So I periodically stopped in. I was given info on all the birds in the store. I must've asked a million questions but they had a million answers. After about 4 months I finally decided on a sun conure. When Skittles came home I could tell that he was well taken care of and spoiled! We've had him for about 6 weeks and he is the best bird baby and brother! Great prices and great pets! THANKS AGAIN ANIMAL COVE!!! WE LOVE SKITTLES!!!

This place is amazing. The customer service was phenomenal. Went in looking for a bird cage and Mr. Phillip was able to help us get set up with exactly what we need. We was able to get toys for our Sun Conure Parrot and he also order a bird play area since he didnt have one in the store. Super convenient since I had a little knowledge of what to get but I was able to get everything from one store. Mr. Phillip knows his animals and he is great with kids, I had my 2 younger kids with me and and he made the experience include all of us as a family. This pet store beat your big box chain ones AND they have a dog groomer. I'll definitely be be bring my dogs up here to get groomed up here since their prices are so much better then Petsmart and they offer the same services. Having 3 dogs I'll be able to save at least $60-80 total. This is my new pet store.

The owner was a really nice dude. You could absolutely tell that he cares for his animals, and his customers. My parents purchased one of his cockatiels. After such a great experience, and seeing that my daughter really enjoyed their new baby, they decided to purchase one for my daughter. We loveeeee our new additions to the family.

This place is THE place to go for your puppers dog grooming! Katie is SO great with my baby. He is a golden retriever and he always come back to me looking the most handsome! Great customer service, and Katie is so flexible with her hours! Highly highly recommend!

this place needs to get shut down. they abuse their animals. they were picking their rats up by the tails and throwing them. they also have their rats in pinewood bedding, even though pinewood is extremely toxic to rats. their bunnies don’t have bedding. their birds look extremely depressed, and all of their animals look sick. please do not give this place any money, they need to go out of business.

I bought my firefly ball python for a great price at this location, the employees are awesome and kind, sometimes I just drop by with my daughter to look at the snakes and take off with no issues, I also buy mice for my python here for a nice price!

This place is AMAZING! I get my puppy groomed here all the time and he always looks so handsome when they finish. He also smells super good for days after his baths here. The prices are great and everyone is so friendly. I would highly recommend!

Let me start off by saying, hands down this is the BEST PET SHOP I'VE EVER BEEN TOO. If I could give 100 stars I would. This place is a hidden gem, you cant go wrong with anything you buy no matter what the price may be. When I tell you, you get a lifetime of support, and knowledge you cant get anywhere else. Please check it out, and if what your looking for is not in stock he will be happy to get your new family member for you. Oh yeah he has the sweetest cockatiels I've ever seen, they are so sweet and tame. I can go on and on about the customer service too. Just check out this gem.
