This store and many other DGs have gone way down hill, I'd give it a zero if I could. The sad part it's the corporation. not the general manager , and cashiers. dG corporation won't give the hours to fix stores. It is like shopping at a bargain hunter you gotta dig and climb to find what you need. Hope there is never a fire cause they're gonna have to climb out.

If I could give negative stars I would. Store made my skin crawl. Absolutely disgusting. Store needs to be closed for good or a emergency crew to run it and stock it. Today October 5th at 6pm the female casheirs were in there just talking behind counters and playing on phone talking about going ahead and closing since no one wanted to work. Pathetic

Absolutely the nastiest Dollar General I have ever been inside of. Shelves were extremely disorganized, not properly stocked, scattered merchandise, trash in the aisles. What was even worse was the white mold like growth in the bottom of the milk coolers. Upon entering, I walked directly between 2 employees and neither spoke or even acknowledged a customer. If all DG stores were like this one, I would never set foot in one. Store manager and district manager should be embarrassed by this dump.

So today I stopped by dollar general at 4:15pm! As I approached the door, a lady was standing right outside the door smoking a cigarette. She tells me "We are closed"! I ask why & her response was "WE ARE JUST CLOSED FOR THE DAY! WE ARE FINISHED & WE ARE CLOSED! I DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE YOU A REASON! MEANWHILE... I SEE 4-5 PPL STANDING AT THE DOOR, ON THE INSIDE OF THE STORE LAUGHING!!!! YOU HAVE 1 PERSON ON THE OUTSIDE & 4-5 PPL (THAT I COULD SEE) ON THE INSIDE!! SO CLEARLY YOU ARE NOT UNDERSTAFFED! & THERE WERE NO EMERGENY VEHICLES OUTSIDE EITHER! SO PLZ TELL ME WHY YOU ARE CLOSING THE STORE AT 4:15PM WHEN YOU ARE SCHEDULED TO CLOSE AT 10PM?! & WHY DO YOUR EMPLOYEES HAVE TO BEHAVE THAT WAY?! IM BAFFLED & PROMISE U I WILL NOT BE BACK! WAY TO GO DOLLAR GENERAL!!!!! IM SURE U LOST MORE CUSTOMERS THAN ME TODAY!

The store was in absolute shambles. Shelves were almost empty and there were carts of merchandise doen every aisle. A disabled person in a wheelchair could not have maneuvered throughout the store. The employees told me they had no support from their store manager or district manager. They did say that their DM had worked overnight one time, but he hasn't returned and they have no way to get in touch with him. I felt bad for the employees working. There were only two there and when I inquired, they told me that 4 people worked that morning. They definitely have little to no leadership and I would be embarrassed if I were the store manager or the district manager. Dollar General!! Something needs to happen quickly to het this store back in shape. Would you like me to share pictures with you?

I like the prices but staff arent always friendly. They put a young married couple and their 2 year old baby out of the store when a tornado was going over our location. Whats so bad is the couple were from out of state and didn't know where else to go. Thankfully the Texaco by the interstate let them in.

Is Dollar General ever better than 2 stars. Employees are always pleasant and helpful, but clearly overworked and under paid. It's always a total mess and hard to find anything. The only time I ever go is when I'm rushed and need something that can't wait... Maybe twice per year.

This store has very pleasant and helpful employees. Like all the Dollar General stores, it is over crowded. Not the fault of the store, it's a corporate problem! This store is always clean and we'll stocked.

Workers never stock items. Store is always cluttered with unpacked crates. They are always closing early. Tonight they closed at 8 yet website states they’re open till 10 pm. Last night they closed at 6pm

I work in customer service so I understand having a hectic week . However when a customer is trying to ask a question you should let them finish their sentence . The man Oliver was quick to cut me off and tell me what they have on the shelf is what they have Instead of listening to my full question. Vary rude and unprofessional

Every time I go in to this Dollar General there are blocked aisles. I usually have to stand in a long line unless I ask them to page someone. Most of the cashiers are super friendly.

Usually love this particular store but some new guy was working the register. He was telling everyone"Have a nice rest of your day" in the most apathetic voice. Not being sincere is worse than being dismissive.

So happy Dollar General on Lakeshore in Cropwell, Al. has been remodeled and now has groceries plus shelves are stocked. Hope it stays that way!! Hope employees are friendly and better at their jobs!

Fast friendly usually has what u need when u go in everything is priced steady flow of customers all day they try to keep store cleaned in the Flo of customers all day from the time they open to closing there one of the dollar generals in st clair county that has a more classy products a variety of what u need also has alcohol sales and a lit up parking lot at night

They need to do a lot better about keeping their prepaid phone's in stock , i mean i get it . not a cell phone retailer but they got ton's of ads and empty spot's where they USE to be . also could use more counter room , thank's have a great day .

You can find your basics, and it saves you from a Walmart trip. Every employee I've ever seen in there was lethargic, bored, and wanted to be ANYWHERE other than Dollar General. I can't say I blame them.

Not one person knew how to properly load a prepaid debit card . Three different types of cards where tried and it couldn't be done .I went to 3 different stores in my area near Pellcity Al.

I love Dollar General stores and spend hundreds of dollars a month there. But this store has the most hateful staff I've ever seen. I stopped going. I drive to Cropwell or Riverside, or just go to Walmart.

It was awful line was 11 people long the cashier saw that the line was that long and walk out to smoke and get on her phone and they talk about the boy that was left alone and her talked about the customer to the other customer the store you can't get around in I got pictures gonna call the news station when I recorded them smoking in front of the store while the line is in back of the store it's the awfulness store in Pell City people are walking out I have walk out several times if another store come just alittle closer I know a least a 100 people wouldn't go there again I heard them say so will be recording tomorrow and will tell them I'm recording they say they don't care the head office ain't going to do nothing I bet they will when the news get it.

Very small and no room to get around in the isles. The restroom was extremely nasty everything is falling apart in there. Didn't even want to sit down. Works if you are in a pinch but wouldn't recommend this store to do everyday shopping.

Depends on who is working and what mood they are in. Most of the men workers are vert nice and welcome you as you walk in women well we all know that word.

Had store coupon they wouldn't take off even though valid. Exact words were we can't control what the register does.Its hard to believe that to be true.
