We were referred to Dr. Simms For our newest small dog rescue. Our new rescue was kept in a cat carrier for 8-10 hours a day, didn't trust anyone and had several very large infections on her abdomen. Got her on Friday, Dr. Simms Tuesday of the next week for a visit, Dr. Simms diagnosis is Cancer. Dr. Simms handles the animals and the new parents with the greatest of ease and care. Our new family rescue got worse in the following week, Dr. Simms adjusted his busy surgery day to add her to the schedule for removal of the tumors the next day.Mrs. Tricia handled all the details in-between and keeping us updated on her surgery and progress.My wife and I picked up our puppy dog, took her for a pup cup treat and returned home to her new brother and sister rescues for a get well gathering.She got the sutures removed, playing with the whole family.Thank you for the staff and Dr. Simms for your time to make a difference in her life and ours.Chris and Dawn Green

Dr Sims treated my dog for raw places on her leg that she had licked and chewed that other vets said couldn't be fixed she suffered for years and so did I. Now she is healing and is so happy and so am I. Thanks Dr. Sims.

Had too put my babygirl down,red nose I've had 16yrs..This vet let me stay with her daddy as long as I wanted,as I still hurt cause there's a hole in my heart,he also let me order her the most beautiful urn an her name on it..an I put she lived a good life..They where so concentrate an I'd send anyone I no too him.

Our Sadie Sue, black lab, sliced her leg upen on a plastic pipe that was sticking out of the ground.....very deep cut. We rushed her in to the doc and they were incredible with her. Took her right in and sedated her, stitched her up, inside stitches and surface stitches. Kept her for about 6 hours until they were done and she was back alert. The wound healed up and the swelling went down and she is back like the pup she thinks she is! Thanks Cropwell Small Animal Hospital! We appreciate you!

I had a Boston Terrier with an injured eye. His eye had turned white. The Dr told me my baby was in pain. Nobody in Alabama would touch him except this wonderful vet who removed his eye and sewed it up beautifully. My baby was a different dog after!!! I had searched for help and a coworker told me about Cropwell. I drove from Vestavia... I would have driven lots further! R I P Cosmo!!!

I love this vet office, we recently had an emergency with our pregnant dog, she had complications during birth and even though we didn't have the money right then they still helped her. I am so grateful for the vet and their techs there. Thank you guys so much.

Dr. Sims is so wonderful and the prices are pretty reasonable too. He's saved my dog's life before (called in over a weekend for that too) and made all my other pets happy and healthy! Forever grateful for this fantastic local vet.

When I was a child Dr. Sims killed my Dachshund Molly. She was supposed to get a steroid shot and he administered medicine to put her to sleep. He attempted to revive her. He never apologized or admitted fault, he simply asked if we would like him to dispose of the body. He sent a $200+ bill to us for killing and attempting to revive Molly which we had to pay.An apology, even 30 years later, would be nice.Edit after owner's response:As you can see below they still won't simply apologize. He remembers, I'm not a 46 year old man randomly looking for drama. He did mistakenly kill our dachshund Molly while she was in my mother's arms. He is yet to apologize and charged us for the pain caused. Pain still felt over 30 years later.

Dr. Sims and his staff are incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, and professional people who's love for animals is evident in the way they treat both client and patient. My husband and I have taken all of our dogs and cats here; and plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. We even brought a stray whom we've since adopted, and the staff was so helpful in attempting to find the family if he had one and helping us care for him in the interim. We couldn't ask for better healthcare for the furry members of our family.

Staff did not seem very informative.my friends puppy had severe worm case and the office did not offer meds just told her she can go to co op and they wasnt concerned in even offering puppy shots.i have never been to a vet office with a 6wk old puppy and the staff not offer to start puppy vaccines and recommend a worming treatment from the vet. I am so glad that the vet i do use for my babies actually cares and puts effort into his patients to keep them well.

I made an appointment at 7:45 to come in at 9:45 for a certain test. The front desk found out when the techs came in at 8 that they do not do that test. Instead of calling me she waited for my 9:45 appointment and for me to get my baby and dog out of the car to go in and then find out. I could’ve had another appointment and not woken up my baby.
