When I lived there I was shopping weekly and found some great deals. I bought clothes, old watches, books and mostly electronics and cameras. At the time things were somewhat tossed here and there on shelves and not very organized in some departments. I visited several months and big changes had been made and it was a much better organized store but I found many prices on items had gone up. I found a few electronic items that I did not need and I did not see any cameras or old watches at the time. I think they had also stocked some new bedding and other items.

I love this place so much I try to visit it once a week. They have the best prices on jeans any size and their collection are you able to put strawberries in the f french toast

I just visited and discovered they almost doubled their prices again. I shopped Walmart beforehand and discovered the thrift store sheets were average $10 for just a "used" top sheet and their blanket prices average over Walmart by $4. Each. We are talking about donated items that have been USED!This is not a mission driven store, they are out for profit and profit only. I will never donate to them again. And you should not either.

This place has great deals! They have a worker there who is so rude though. She blessed an employee out because “he took too long on break” in front of everyone, not only that but she was talking about a “bad mom” this that and the other.. my friend was a person ahead of me, and the employee said “she’s such a bad mom for talking to her kids like that.” My friend literally was trying to get the kids back into the buggy because they jumped out, they were tired, etc. we she kept ranting on and on about her, not realizing it was my friend. We contacted a manager and idk if anything was done, but either way, this place is so unprofessional!

This is a great store ,very friendly and clean the managers are very nice and understanding..always something new on shelves and on the floors everyday ..it is very well lighted so you can see things also. Very hard workers working everyday to please the customers

I love shopping here. I usually visit this once a month. Each time they have different items. I have found Princess House glasses here. I were a women's petite pants. I have found just the right size pants at a price of at least half off regular retail stores.

The clothing is way over-priced. Used wall mart brand shirts (George) over $10. I would spend more money on good deals. The prices are hiked up during race weekend also. Pretty disappointing

I love this thrift store! They have a great selection of furniture.I bought this solid wood, dovetailed dresser for $20.I painted it, changed the knobs, I now have a beautiful buffet.

They need to change their name to America's Grift Stores & Donations...This used to be a great place to shop for good deals. There were always quality items on the shelves, a nice glass case with reasonably priced jewelry and electronics. Now they take your DONATIONS, pick out anything of quality to sell online, and put overpriced, broken junk on the shelves. $5 for a dirty corded phone in multiple pieces in a bag? $10 for a broken kids toy? They can keep it.

It is ok. They have mostly clothes these days and they are not washed so the whole place smells dirty. The prices are pretty high as well. On a lot of merchandise, you can add a small amount more and buy brand new. The staff seem more friendly these days.

This is a nice, well-organized resale store. Good selection, fair prices. Enjoyed the shopping experience. Staff are not particularly friendly, but they do a good job of keeping the place clean and well-organized, so that's better than many resale outlets.

I enjoy going to thrift stores and this one is one of my favorites. It is always clean for the most part and the employees are always friendly and willing to help you in any situation you have. Very cool thrift store and prices are great. Lots of different items to look through. Looking forward to coming back again soon. I would recommend this particular thrift store to everyone.

First time for me at this store location I am really impressed the store itself is very nice well organized and pricing still reflects thrift store prices I made several purchases and could have made more I was in there for maybe an hour and while I was there I had the opportunity to talk with several different employees and they all were very friendly and answered any ? I even had the chance to speak with other shoppers. I was really surprised every one involved in this store was super friendly and knowledgeable and I do mean everyone I even had a little boy to tell me about the toy section

I love this place honestly haha, I mean, I go here once a week now because I'm starting to collect a certain line of toys and the thrift store always has something for me when I go. Its always nice and neat, arranged in an easy way and the staff are always super chill and help whenever I ask.i recommend this place highly because its simple, quick, arranged nicely, and has good finds. Always stocked nicely.

Very upsetting we drove from out of town and website says they close at 8. Old sign on door says 7 and they told us we had to leave they were closing at 7. We watched a dozen or more cars and customers leave. Update your website that me and these other people looked at.

I have found decent items in the past but find it difficult as of late. I did find a pair of work pants my size but missing a price tag. The cashier wouldnt sell it and said it will have to go through the pricing process tomorrow. My jaw dropped. I explained there were many other identical pairs in larger and smaller sizes on the rack that could be used as a reference or that they could go price it while I waited. All i got was an attitude of insolence and blank stares. I allowed the cashier to ring up my other items and when the total was rang up, i walked away and left the store with the manager and cashier looking dumbfounded. They can keep it! $43.81 in sales they lost over their incompetence. The nerve to expect me to make a second trip for a purchase of work pants that just needed a tag. This place is ran by morons. Their customer service is abysmal. Worse than any other thrift store. I understand they need to make money and sell things fairly but if it comes at a cost to my time and patience then they can forget my patronage. I have no plans of returning to this chain of stores simply for the fact they refused to make things right on the spot. Procedure should never take precedence over people.

Since moving to Pell City last year, I’ve visited this place countless times to find things I’ve needed. They seem to have a great selection of everything. Books, housewares, children’s toys, and clothing are well organized and well priced. I’ve even bought many small pieces of furniture for my new house that just needed a little love and a coat of paint. It’s always a treasure hunt. I’m so glad they’re here in Pell City.

Today, February 6, 2022 at around 3:30 pm, my mom and I finished shopping. We went to the register for an item that had a scribbled price on the back. The workers couldn't figure out the price so they then called a young man to interpret the price. He said he didn't know the price and that "it looks like Spanish." He kept repeating the phrase, or I guess "joke" over and over. Nobody laughed and he then continued to say racist remarks while looking at us (my mom and I who are Mexican). The guy has fair skin, has hazel colored eyes, light brown hair that's slicked back, he was around 5'9, and was wearing a red Alabama sweatshirt. It is truly disgusting that judgemental people like this exist.

The staff are always pleasant and seems genuinely happy to be working there. The clothing is generally well organized but overcrowded, making it difficult to browse through. I have always found a great book that I love from my favorite authors. If you have a particular need for a certain item and you are willing to make trips to look for that particular item your due diligence will most certainly make it worth your time. I have found just the right peice of furniture, kitchen item, decor etc as items come into the store everyday. There is ample free parking but there are some rather big potholes going in and out that you will need to avoid.

Seems to have gotten rather unorganized.. staff is confused. Nobody is being trained properly. They can't even take a simple phone call and page for someone to pick up. And that is if anyone even answers the phone to begin with. Also the new GM has zero customer service skills whatsoever. Definitely was a better store a year ago..

Always a decent selection of decent clothes at decent prices. Usually even has mattresses at a reduced cost. Paid less than $40 for three pairs of young girls jeans and three pairs of young boys jeans.

I love this location simply because of the sheer size of the place! They have an enormous selection of everything under the sun and the store is usually pretty organized, especially for the amount of stuff they have to keep organized! The staff has always been polite and they normally keep the store clean as well.

Just went to the American Thrift Store in Pell City AL at 7:15am on Tuesday July 10th 2018! Doors propped open for business even though business hours start 7:30! My mom and I was walking around with enthusiasm on shopping for the kids some school clothes. Was in there for 5 minutes and some rude woman yells (not ask) for us to leave, that we could not shop until 7:30! Needles to say I will NOT be back! They lost my business before I even got to spend my hard earn money in there. First, why would you have the doors propped open like you wanted customers to enter the store? Second, if the lady would have said something as soon as we walked in the door letting us know that we had to wait to shop then I would have understood. They let us look around for 5 whole minutes before saying anything! Third thing is it would have taken us longer than 15 minutes to shop in there before we would have been ready to pay for the items we decided to buy! Y’all lost a really good customer that enjoys to thrift shop on a weekly basis and I promise you that Center of Hope has better customer service and their sales actually goes to a good cause unlike the American Thrift Store!

My schedule right now only allows me to come on Sunday's. Everyone was nice. I was kinda shocked as I tried to go to bathroom area and it was closed. Not very good as some people take medication and NEED TO GO. Probably why this was my quickest trip ever. In an out in an hour. Could have spent more money. BYW, highly illegal to have a place of operation with no bathroom. This is what the 3 stars are for!
