Dr. Julie has taken care of our cocker spaniel since 2011 when we moved to OBA. She is extraordinary. Absolutely amazing and awesome. Her staff is incredible. They love our fur babies and it shows the second you walk through the door.I can’t thank them enough for keeping my baby healthy!

Dr. Taylor and her staff are one of a kind! I have been taking my animals to Canal Road for years. Over the weekend my 12 year old dog was having some issues. They were able to get him in ASAP and ran bloodwork, urinalysis and took X-rays. Dr. Taylor called me to update me after she had examined him and took time to talk to me personally when he was ready to be discharged. Definitely would recommend Dr Taylor to anyone and everyone!

Dr Taylor takes care of both my dogs. Lots of kisses and love by the staff during shots and scary physical assessments. They started with her as newly adopted rescue puppies. Both dogs went through being neutered and they did a fantastic job. Also, I went out of town we used the boarding and both my dogs didn't stress. Its wonderful knowing our pets are in good hands.

We were down at the beach and away from our usual vet when our puppy got sick. After just Googling local vets, we took her to Dr. Taylor. We had to drop her off since no appointments were available. We were very nervous leaving our baby at a vet we did not know. Bailey, at the front desk, helped makes us feel comfortable about leaving her and said to call anytime. Dr. Taylor called and kept me informed about with was going on with my puppy. She was extremely kind, listened to my concerns, answered all my questions and you could tell, she was very caring. While my puppy had to spend the night, she called me multiple times to keep me updated. She checked on her during the night. Even after we picked up my puppy and brought her back home, they called again to check on her to see how she was doing. Whether you are a local or just on vacation, I highly recommend Canal Animal Hospital and Dr. Taylor! Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for helping our puppy!!

Dr. Julie came as a recommendation from my boss who has been using her for years. Last week we had our first visit- I took our 2 year old Aussie for her normal annual exam and vaccinations. The staff was helpful personable and Dr.Julie has an incredible bedside manner! She greeted me like an old friend . Katie came out and was so happy. Two days later - we were surprised to find a nice follow up greeting card in the mail that was signed by her entire staff. It also had a "save my pet" sticker for our front door. The next day we had an emergency with our other dog. She had eaten a foreign object and had a bowel obstruction. I called and Bailey made it work for us to bring her right away. Dr. Julie was very kind and very responsive to the situation. She personally called us multiple times per day to report the status. She gave us assurance that everything was under control and that we could observe for a while longer to see if it would dislodge. And it finally did. We avoided a costly surgery.I think other vets might have recommended surgery immediately and collected a big bill. Dr Julie was more concerned about our beloved dog than the payday. I have full confidence that she did the right thing. Also - The staff was incredible. We loved everything about our experience despite the tragic circumstances. If you need a great vet - look no further.

Dr. Taylor is the absolute best. She is always super interested in her clients, and is very knowledgeable. The staff that works here is always open and friendly and treats my dog with kindness even though he's apprehensive. I've been going here for 8 years (I have a cat and dog), and I've never had a complaint. If you're looking for someone to really care about your animal and treat you and your animal well, this is the place to go.

Dr. Julie is the best ! Our dog got very sick while we were on vacation. Dr. Julie immediately saw our fur baby as a new patient and provided top notch care. She kept in close contact with us throughout the multi day stay. She even came in after hours to check on our dog, bringing her cooked chicken and rice.

The doctor and staff were rude and condescending. I hate this place. Waste of time. There is no way I would allow them to touch my dog. They take the animals to the back and won't do exams in the room with you. My dog needed help and we had to walk out and leave. There is something wrong with this place.

I discovered that my cat's paw was swollen. However, it was not puffed up, but it was wide as 2 paws. Right away I went to my friend and neighbor's. I asked her what is gojng on. She believed perhaps it was a snake bite. (She has gone to Dr Julie a long time for her dog Lucy, now her cat Rocket). She called and explained the condition of the paw. She was told perhaps a snake bite. And to bring her in right away. Since I hadn't the need to go to a vet, moving here recently .So we rushed to her office, as I sat in back seat, holding my baby kitten.I was so relieved she was still open and took her rught away. She stayed overnight, and was given antibiotics. When I went the next day to pick her up, the staff all greeted me very warmly (just as if they have known me for a long time).I was taken right away to see my prdciius baby girl kitten. Dr julie was so easy to talk to, a very comforting and warm personality. They all helped me bck to front desk, and I and Sparkle went to the car.Im so thankful for chosing Dr Julie and staff.Joanne

I called and was able to get an appointment on a Sunday I was so surprised and thankful. My pup had gotten very itchy when we moved down here a week ago and I didn’t know what to do. I came here and literally everyone was so sweet and helpful. The vet was great with my pup and it didn’t take long for a diagnosis. We were able to get some pills and the price was great for the pills and the appointment. All in all it was a great experience and I’m very thankful for this place!

We took our dog Mocha for the first time today. Wow! We are so impressed by the staff here. The Dr and staff are very friendly and cared for Mocha like she was their own. They were thorough with their exam and were accommodating to our and her needs. We would highly recommend Canal Road Animal Hospital to anyone.

Dr Taylor is excellent. We have 2 small breed dogs. We have used her since we adopted them as puppies. Kennel service is excellent and our dogs come home after our vacations healthy and happy.

I boarded my dog here last week. One of the main reasons I picked this clinic was because they told me he would be able to play with other dogs that were also boarding, or they would at least try him with the other dogs. When I picked him up and asked, they told me they did not even try him. When they brought him out to me they said he had not been out and probably had to go to the bathroom. It was 12pm. He peed on my feet immediately. He has never done that. I brought him home to discover he has kennel cough. It sounded so awful, I do not know how they missed it. I even signed the paper agreeing to extra charges if he needed to be treated for something.I have never in my life left a Google review before this. That's how strongly I feel about this clinic. They may be an awesome vet, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for boarding.

This is the worst animal clinic I have ever been to in my 60 plus years and consider Dr Taylor and her associate to be unscrupulous and unethical. I brought my dog in for a bad tooth, he had had previous dental work at another clinic 3 months prior and I told them he had one additional tooth that needed removing. I used her because it was convenient to my work. I was never at anytime given the opportunity to speak with anyone except someone at the frt desk. They implied they would relay the information and since they had been recommended by someone I trusted I had no reason to be concerned. They took my 3 1/2 lb. Teacup Poodle and removed "14" teeth and broke his lower jaw. Then proceeded to say it must have been like that when I brought him in! Are you kidding me! On Friday at 5pm I now have a dog that cannot eat and just screams in pain and they tell me nothing they can do for him and charge me over 500.00 to damage my dog. After a tragically long weekend I found an amazing Dr in Foley that was able to put a splint on his jaw that took almost 6 months to heal. Dr Taylors office refused to assist in the financial loss that I incurred due to there lack of listening to what I requested and the incompetence of her staff. My dog has healed now and leads an almost normal life except for his lack of teeth at meal time. I hope no one ever trusts her again because she will leave you high and dry with a bill and a boot.

We have been using Dr Julie for 3 years now and could not be happier. She genuinely loves what she does and it shows. As a long time multiple animal owner I can't say enough good about Julie and her staff.

We’re Snowbirds from Wisconsin. One of our two dogs was due for a rabies shot, so we chose Canal Road Veterinary Clinic. Our dog was treated so professionally and lovingly. We were so appreciative. They took all the info for both our dogs. Now if we need veterinary care while we’re away from home, we’re definitely returning to Canal Road Veterinary Clinic.

Great place as long as you never have an after hours problem, then completely useless you call and press 0 for emergency then you are given another phone number and the person there isn't helpful and tells you to call back during normal business hours.I really like Dr. Taylor and she has been wonderful with my dog but as any pet owner knows, problems don't always happen during business hours and without that support system there really isn't any point. Unfortunately after last night it appears I will be moving to another vet

Simply the BEST vet office in all of Baldwin County and surrounding area. Dr. Taylor and her staff are very caring and always know what is best for all of our furbabies (going on 13 years)! She treats us and our babies (3 dogs) like family.

Took my dog there after a pit bull attack, they seemed more concerned about her shot records than my poor little dog. They finally said I could leave her but they had only one Dr so it could be awhile before they could fit her in. This was my 3rd visit and 2 out of 3 visits they employees were RUDE! Left took her to magnolia hospital they took one look at her took her in immediately. Thank God for Magnolia my dog was rush in for emergency surgery. This vet would have allowed my dog to die. If you love your dog take them to Magnolia not this rude clinic

As a visitor vacationing in the area I dropped off my special needs dog, Augie, 7 days ago because I was assured by staff when I made the reservations, and again when I dropped her off, that Canal Road Animal Hospital was equipped and staffed to care for her needs. She needed to be gently walked twice a day for 10 minutes using sling assistance so that her limited mobility was maintained. When I dropped her off she needed some sling assistance with using her back legs but her front legs were fully functional. 7 days ago she was alert, curious, and most of all healthy. I am a registered nurse and am fully aware of what her limitations, and strengths, were when I delivered her into their care. The dog I picked up today is near death. She is unable to use her front legs without considerable assistance, falling down onto her face as her front legs buckle underneath her, her mentation appears sedated/stupefied, and she has a large hardened ulcerated wound covering her left upper leg/hip area. When I offered her water as soon as we brought her out of their facility this morning she drank an entire 12 ounce bottle and wanted more. Her eyes were sunk deep into their sockets and her gums were extremely sticky. Augie was severely dehydrated and near death from it. This would be unacceptable from a kennel, and doubly so from an animal hospital. I am currently sitting in the back seat with her trying to nurse her back to life. I brought them a special needs geriatric dog and they gave me back a dying dog who endured god knows what extraordinary discomfort over the past 7 days. I pray that Augie survives the neglect and her local vets are able to revive her back to her baseline.

If you want a dead dog and cats back after boarding this sure is the place to go. My pets were perfectly healthy, came back from boarding lethargic and sick. All had skin infections, and were throwing up after getting picked up. Don’t recommend, staff will yell and try to say theyre being resonable.

Always positive experiences with businesses in Orange Beach.Just left the Canal Road animal Hospital, my dog was having seizures and foaming at the mouth. She obviously was in need of urgent care. We were there 45 minutes before they closed and was told they didn’t have time to treat her..Unbelievable lack of concern for my pets welefare..

Their name says they are an "Animal Hospital". But we called first thing in the morning on a Wednesday and they said they would not see our sick pet. They told us to call a different care provider. To me, that's not hospital. That's a regular vet clinic with limited capabilities.
