It's not my favorite place to shop, it tends to be crowded and although I'm sure it's actually clean, it looks dirty to me. And overcrowded. And there's not quite as much variety that you would get if you go to Family Dollar, which is similar but has more variety and is more spacious. It's not a bad place to stop though, if I were right there, I'd go in and get what I need.

I have found the staff and management to be very helpful friendly and professional. They have an extremely large category of products.They were basically a junior grocery store of sorts along with being a little bit of a hardware store a little bit of an automotive store clothing all types of foods etc.You can go buy oil for your truck buy some clothes and put on your back buy you some milk bread eggs cheese bologna crackers you can also buy phones and phone accessories it's like a variety store and a convenience store and a grocery store in a really unique mix..The prices in general are very competitive there are some super great deals if you look now is everything else there are some items that are priced based on market or they're what I call convenience priced in other words they may have an extra five or 8% markup on select items.On my first visit based on what I bought and based on comparisons to grocery outlet IGA and Walmart through a combination of purchases I found that I paid slightly more than some places and paid slightly less on others.. I guess what I'm saying is it all kind of evened out.I bought a buggy full of a variety of items and I may have spent 5% more or 5% less then I wouldn't other local stores in the grocery departmentAs far as general apparatus the grocery stores do not usually carry and hitting it against the Walmart in Andalusia I find the prices near the same and some items were actually 10 or 12% cheaper compared to Walmart prices.I'm not exactly happy with Walmart for a multitude of reasons over the last say four or five years they have anti-customer policies and procedures in my opinion. They are a business and they get to decide for themselves what they want to do that can also make them a profit or make them a loss or slow down any profit they may have made.So when I can do my shopping elsewhere I try and do that and I also like to keep my money in the local economy to keep our local people employed so they can provide for their families and so forth.So it's a no-brainer to me this place even has steak in that wrap and I can't think of what the wrap is called where it pulls out all the air and it'll last three or five times longer than normal and I have tried their steaks and I would say they're probably better than a lot but at the same time it's not a ribeye so I would say if you went to a meat company or to one of the local grocery stores and you bought a similar steak they beat the price real well at the dollar store.If you want to talk cut of course you'll have to go to the grocery store of your choice. However if you just want a steak that I would say it's somewhere around a 7 - 8 depending on your taste on a scale of 1 to 10.I'd say most states at local supermarkets are in this range unless it's a high-end piece of steak or a specialty cut there are some steaks at the local grocery stores that are definitely a 10 I have bought them at IGA and grocery outlet alike at various times and I would give them a 10 out of 10 that's not always the case because meat cuts very even though they're generally uniform there is variances.I'm not advocating for everybody to go to the Dollar store and stop going to the ICA or the grocery outlet I know the people very well at both of these local businesses and they're very good honest people and they provide excellent service and a wide variety of goods and services.I am saying that the dollar store has many items that they do not have and she might find a bartender too so I'm saying put it in your mix for shopping and support this business as well as the other businesses.I realize people go out of town for all kinds of reasons and they have to buy things and they choose to buy things but every dollar you spend locally in your area has a ripple effect and your dollar may turn into three or ten or twenty dollars over time I'm not a mathematician or a statistics expert but I have listened to people that are.Our city is awesome and this business contributes to our city.

If you want to get in and out in a timely manner do not go to this place. The isles are crowded and cluttered. There is only one cashier at any given time,no matter how many people are in line. I have been to several stores in this area and time is is as bad as it gets. I got tired of the line that did not move for several minutes. I returned my items and left the store.

Merchandise still in boxes either on the dolly or on the floor. There was five aisles that was blocked due to merchandise not put up. Shelves either empty or merchandise out of place. Air conditioning not working most of the time. Who wants to buy chocolate candy and it's soft or completely melted? I shop at Dollar General all over Alabama and this is one of the worst one I've ever been in. I'm referring to the DG in Lamar Plaza in Opp Alabama.

It was good bad. I had to call the manager cause the cash register was so disgusting. I go in there at least 4 time a day. On the first of the month I spent over 200.00 dollars on cleaning supplies and I was upset how I was treated

It's Dollar General, same as rest but nearly everything I have bought here food wise is crushed or broken in package or the taste is way off. No idea why? Unless they kick to its place in the store.

Awesome customer service they always know where merchandise is located. I love the manager very friendly and will do anything to make the customer happy!! Love this store

Poor...didnt apply all my coupons to my bill. I did not realize it til I got home. That was not the dollar General O normally shop at. Not only that, he was going to throw my recieght away!!

Store needs remodeling and is always strowed but most products are okay. Three quarters of Opp, AL is messy and run down anyway.

We didn't like it there . The food was like they opened up a can and got it out and warmed it up . Was not good at all and the service wasn't good either we had to ask for refills ..
