Nice, clean, pet store, very knowledgeable about fish, which is my new life quest! Friendly staff large variety of live animals and supplies not found in other local pet stores. I've bought plenty beautiful fish from here. Gourami, African cichlids, tiger barb, oscar, guppies, platys, snails, and live food and great aquarium plant selection. Never had to return any that died, but they did accept a return of 3 green tiger barb that were too aggressive for my tropical community aquarium.

Been coming here for a while now, they keep a variety of quality pet foods (my cats love). The fish selection is diverse and if you know what your doing then a good find! Same with the small animals, please do your research before getting a pet and there won’t be any issues. Don’t expect the staff to be able to explain the ins/outs of owning a pet in a brief interaction. Do your research and prepare ahead of time. Be kind and open to new information (rant over lol). Deana was amazing at my last visit and will continue to shop for my pets here !

Pet SuperMarket of Northport has a top of the line employee, Thomas. I met him last week talking about birds and was just going to let my kids see birds at another store. It was a terrible experience so we left crossed our fingers and prayed Thomas was here. Thankfully he was working today and went above and beyond helping my 6 year old boys while we were in the store. He is a top of the line employee and you guys are lucky to have him! He got in the floor on their level to show them everything they wanted to see. He was very helpful and knowledgeable with all of my questions about all the reptiles and birds! Thanks for the awesome experience Thomas!

I usually don’t write reviews unless I had a phenomenal experience or a terrible one:I love going to Pet Supermarket because their selection is huge and they always have great discounts! We went today to get my cats some new toys, snacks, food, and litter since we received a coupon in our email. The first employee Diane was very sweet! She offered us help and price checked things for us! We went up to checkout and Chris was very friendly but our coupon wasn’t working. He had Bridgette go find Diane to get our coupon working and with all their help we were able to get our discount! They went above and beyond to be VERY friendly, kind, accommodating, and just a super positive experience! If anyone who is a higher up at Pet Supermarket sees this: please give them a raise or something! They were so helpful and very friendly!

The big gal, Jeana or something-Doesn’t need to be working there. She thinks she is a manager but she is not. It is written all over her face the disgust she has for people asking animal questions and she thinks her customers are stupid. Someone was returning a Guinea pig and she asked “ why-what happened?” They said something like it bit my son and her face looked so red and angry that is could burst. Then she had to ring me up and she acted completely rude and said “do whatever you want to your cat” because she was so flustered they were returning a pet. Haha! It was funny but her BIG self doesn’t need to be working with animals because she is one. Js.

I would say this is the best pet store in Tuscaloosa, however, the one lady at the fish section was rather unpleasant. We waited 30 minutes before she could acknowledge us, because she help about 4 or 5 other people who came in after us. She was also not very knowledgeable with the animals she was dealing with, which is concerning in my opinion.

We came in just a few minutes before close without realizing it, and didn’t until we were walking out. Every employee we interacted with was incredibly friendly and cheerful and genuinely trying to help choose what was best for our two cats and dog. Great experience!

Prices are pretty standard for a big box pet store this particular location seems to have a pretty regular revolving door of employees they have a good selection of fish although tanks were leaking when I was there last and honestly the way the small animals are housed I think isn't good for them having little ability to hide from staring humans must be really stressful overall not a bad place to shop because the variety is decent do wish the had a better selection of grooming tools

The place is great, although i was specifically searching for cat litter boxes, their selection was limited and expensive. The handle broke before we could even get home >> for the prices i would have expected a longer lasting & stronger product.

They staff is friendly and try to be helpful. The animals they sell seem to be reasonably healthy and well cared for. They often seem to be out of things we are looking for, but they have a pretty wide variety of other items to choose from. Worth a stop if you have pets and live in the area.

I went in with a blown light bulb for under the hood of my aquarium. They have now changed them to leds. I had to walk all the way back to the front of the store to ask for help. The girl helped me find the fish flakes, water conditioner, and filter cartridges. The price of fish has gone up tremendously. It will probably cost me $50 just to fill up a 10 gallon aquarium with fish. It's a shame that having fish for pets costs as much as a dog or a cat.

It's one of the only places near/in Tuscaloosa that carry live rat/mice and its still quite a drive for me. They seem to never carry enough supply for demand. Additionally, whenever I call or just decide to physically visit, the staff acts too busy and/or just rude to quickly reply they "don't have any".. I would rather drive the hour to Birmingham than deal with them.

New store manager is really nice and come to your need quickly.. he replaced my 2 death fishes no question ask and offer to test my pond water if it’s happen again..You can tell it’s under new management since the fishes selection is a lot more and pretty now also is the under water plans really nice too..and the worker is a lot nicer too

Madison there was very helpful with me! She helped me pick out a hamster and was extremely kind! I went back to get another hamster (just because I wanted another one as well) and I talked directly to her. If you shop there, ask for the manager Madison! The other Madison that works there is pretty awesome herself! She also helped me with my first hamster purchase. She is very down to earth and sweet! Thank you to both Madisons ❤

Seemed pretty clean, low stock, though. We thought this was Pet Smart, so we attempted to return something from there without a receipt. Their employee had told us we could. The manager at Pet Supermarket was quick to tell us they couldn't do it and that she was a manager who had worked there for a long time. I understand the rules and misunderstanding on our part, but she seemed pretty rude with her explanation. Plus for Pet Smart, minus for Pet Supermarket.

I do not even want to give it a star but the only reason I am is because of I Judy she is very sweet. There is this lady named Paige I think is her name and she is very very rude and should not work there if she is going to be rude to the customers. She does not know how to talk to customers and she is going to smart off to the wrong one and they will drag her over the counter with all this being said I will not ever return to pet supermarket again.

I thought the store was a bit prejudiced towards cats because they have iams cat food but no iams dog food.my dog has ate this food scents berthAlso I went to check out me and my wife and we wanted to pay separate bills and the young man working the cash register suggested we pay together to make his work easier. well my wife's buying stuff for her and I'm buying stuff for me I don't feel it was right to even suggest that .so another young man helped and when he did he put both bills together we paid separately but my wife end up paying for a quarter of my bill.Don't think we will visit again.

When we first went here about a year ago there service was great. We went and looked at fish and the guy was extremely knowledgeable. A couple days later when we went to buy the fish it was hard to even get anyone to help and the girl that helped us was about as clueless about them as we wereWe decided to go back to look for dog houses. There were some with no price tag. So we went and asked a worker for some help- she never once walked over to see which ones we were talking about, said "they're between $120-$160" and turned around and started doing something else. So, we went to the front desk and asked for help, she also acted as if it was an inconvenience to help. her reply was "they are about $120-160" my husband kind of stood there for a second and then she finally said "I mean if you want me to I can go get the actual price for you". such poor customer service.

Tammy and her team were absolutely amazing. The only thing our son asked for Christmas was a cockatiel. After calling around this store was the only place that had one. We explained our situation and how far we were traveling and the pet supermarket team were extremely accommodating. You don’t find service like this in many places.

Staff was very friendly, checkout was quick and convienant. The selection of the items I was purchasing was well stocked as well as much variety to choose from. I will definitely will be visiting the store often now that I've discovered this pet lovers treasure.Also a big PLUS, my canine companion, Sport, was able to go into and walk around and enjoy the store and was able to help me make the correct selection if the items I was purchasing for him. Not a bad store. Staff is nice and knowledgable about a variety of animals.They however run low on reptile stock WEEKLY. Substrate and crickets are always out due to not enough being ordered and a handful of people in the city buying their whole stock. There needs to be a limit.I no longer go to this store due to low cricket stock.
