Great establishment! My family and I have always had wonderful service here with delicious food and a very courteous staff. I am very confused about the negative reviews. This is a privately owned business with owners who do not live in this town and therefore are not in anyway associated with any political drama there. I hope they continue to have success in Newbern. Growing up in this area I know the importance of these business to the rural areas and communities.

The first time I went there the service and atmosphere were great! Two weeks later I bring my neighbor, who happens to be black, and I got hostility was very uncomfortable. Great place if your looking for that 1950's southern touch I suppose. To their credit they weren't flying a Confederate flag so I gave them an extra star

Unique place. Good burgers and barbecue! Sometimes brisket which is my favorite. Can even get an old fashion thick fried bologna sandwich. And Cream soda!

Old Mercantile Store with part of it converted over to a restaurant. Old building has a lot of character with rustic appeal. Home cooked food with good prices. Have a lunch special 5 days a week n serve sandwiches on Saturdays.
