Everything about VCA Carriage Hills is top notch! Frim the office staff, nurses, veterinarians & management it is evident they care about you & your pet. I drive nearly 2 hours for routine care - they are that good! Thank you for all you do - its comforting to know pet owners have a care facility with 24 hour service!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to this office because they truly deserve it! Our pup was quite literally on his death bed on Friday! We were referred to them by our local vet and it could not have been a better referral. We drove an hour and a half to their facility and we were met with nothing but love and support and their extensive knowledge. Our pup Shadow stayed from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon with them. He was nursed back to health by all the amazing staff at this animal hospital. The staff is very knowledgeable despite our dog being a slight mystery case! They were constantly communicating with us and giving us updates! Our pup who normally doesn’t love the vet was given so much love and attention that by the time we were ready to leave, he seemed like he wanted to stay! The whole staff at this office is so incredible and we are forever grateful for their support! Everyone with a pet needs a vet like this in their life! We will definitely be back! Shadow’s new favorite place!

I am so grateful to VCA Carriage Hills. Over the weekend our cat developed seizures that progressed very rapidly. We are in a very remote part of Alabama and this was the nearest 24/7 vet. When our cat's state was just too far gone we needed someone to help us give him peace with compassion, and unfortunately because it was 3 AM no one near us would help. We drove nearly 2 hours to VCA Carriage Hills, and they greeted us with kindness and compassion and helped us give our precious boy the peace he needed. I am so grateful to them and would recommend them to anyone.

This place is amazing! They are very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. They took the best care for our Millee. She is a very timid, shy bulldog, but on recheck day, she came out of shell because they took such good care of her. I've never seen her so happy to see a group of people. They even went out of their way to come say hi when we were waiting for Dr.V. I cannot Thank Dr.V and his staff enough for helping our Millee. Definitely recommend this place to anyone I know.❤️

I, unfortunately, had to visit this clinic yesterday. I drove from Auburn at the recommendation of many vets and friends, and im so glad I did. From the first phone call to the last exit, every single staff member here was amazing. My dog Rosie was in a medical emergency and we lost her, but from beginning to end they not only were kind, informative, non judgmental, and compassionate, but also handled the entire situation with grace and professionalism. Thank you to everyone to let my girl have peace and for letting me say goodbye with dignity. Vets are angels that walk among us.

We were referred to Carriage Hills after getting a second opinion on our very sick dachshund. She spent 3 ICU stays here and had weekly follow up appointments. During this time we formed relationship with the staff and felt they genuinely cared about our girl. We truly feel Dr. Carswell went above and beyond for her. Despite the diagnosis, they maintained honesty and transparency without being misleading. While we would’ve loved a different outcome and to still have our girl with us, we are comforted to know she did get the best of the best care and the best chance. The price you pay for the quality of care is reasonable and realistic and we would not do do anything differently. And in the end, we could not be more grateful that they were with us through Joey’s terrible diagnosis and hugged (thank you Erica!) & comforted us after her fight was over.

I understand the emergency fee and am ok with it however I paid it, my cat was stabilized, but I didn't get any advice really. I got sent on my way.They gave me an estimate for a battery of tests and I declined, saying my vet does it cheaper. I've confirmed my vet does it cheaper bc I just went to him today. I spent $90 instead of $200-$350 on blood work. I think the vet and vet tech could have anticipated our needs better and given me more pragmatic short term advice, which is essentially what I just paid for, again, at my regular vet. I'm now doing subcutaneous fluids at home for my cat. The vet tech at carriage hills could have taught me this.

The staff here is amazing!!! They gave our dog Shadow the most incredible care. I highly recommend them to everyone. They saved his life and our hearts. We will take every dog to them from now on.

Upon my pup’s emergency situation at home that happened around 5:30 PM, and after calling both of our local vets that both recommended CH, I called. After explaining what had happened, they directed me to bring her in, and explained the after hours cost up front. Upon arrival, they took Precious directly back. We were in & out in 2 hours which is MUCH less time than people hospitals. My opinion is that this is an Excellent clinic, and I am VERY grateful they were available after hours to save my baby!! She got this MEAN fish hook caught in tongue and lip by thinking it was a shiny toy. I have no clue where it came from, but Carriage Hills was the BEST to her, and us!! I have read other reviews referring to costs, and while it was a little pricey, this was an after hours emergency, and my pet could NOT have made it through the night without care. I am EXTREMELY grateful for CH and their care for us!

This place is so good. We rescued a dog and brought her to this place. They took her right in and ran some tests. They are still currently taking care of her to continue to save her. They are nice and have doctors on hand. They are very helpful. Two more shots to go and my little coco will be worm free. She will continue to see VCA for the rest of her life. Thank you VCA.

This place is wonderful! We've rushed cats here for years. Every single employee is patient and sympathetic. The Dr cried along with us when we lost two. I'm confident they have done everything possible to help us.

Was open, when my little dog got attacked by neighbor’s dogs while on our property on a lease. They took care of her 3 puncture wounds, even tissue that was hanging out of one of the puncture wounds(which really had me worried and scared)gave her antibiotics, anti inflammatory and pain medication. Normally take her to Cobbs Ford Veterinary, but they’re stopped doing the overnight emergency and they directed me to Carriage Hills and they made sure my baby was taken care of.

We brought my daughter's cat in, which had been bitten by a rattlesnake, and she was treated. We paid the balance in full, the amount was around $3000. We took her home and then my daughter received a call saying she still owed $600. They will not release your animal until your balance is paid in full. She was told that it was being sent to collections. The finance director was extremely rude and should not have a job that involves talking to customers. We are so thankful that her cat survived but extremely disappointed in how we were treated afterwards. Take your animal somewhere else.

They ER visit is very expensive. But when I told them I couldn't afford all the xrays. The doctor work with medicine and had me make sure my bad rest and I had to monitor him around the clock. I went 3 nights without sleep. He just stop walking. We think he has hip dysplasia or back problems. I thought he was paralyzed. After 2 days of rest and and medication and following Dr. Whatley orders he is back to at less 90%. I have to tell him to slow down.

I drove my dog 6 hours round trip to this place for her all surgery. The doctor was done in less than 45 minutes sent me on my way. Called 6 weeks later because she wasn't putting any weight on her foot still and limping still very badly, drove her back he didn't do any xrays said she was fine needed to rest more and less than 10 minutes later sent us back on our way. Long story short this doctor didn't do the surgery right after paying 5 grand and I had to spend an additional 4 grand to get her acl fixed at a different place. DON'T USE THESE PEOPLE!

I have used VCA Carriage Hills several times for emergencies for my dogs. They have always been available and been able to help my dogs. The veterinarian even texted to check on the well-being of my injured dog.

This is an awesome veterinarian office. My Lawyer who is a Rottweiler loves it there. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Lawyer loves Desiree, the groomer. Its a wonderful facility.

When no vet in our area could figure out what was wrong with our dog Thor, we drove two hours away to Carriage hills. Our dog had some pretty extreme swelling on one side of his face and eye and we couldn’t get any answers on what was happening. The team at Carriage hills got him back right away and Dr. Van Hooser and team discovered the problem and set up a surgery day. We were very nervous since this was rare situation but we were reassured he was in good hands as they had another specialist on his surgery team. Thor spent the night the day of his surgery and we picked him up the next day and he had a difficult recovery the first two days but the Dr and nurses called and checked on him the first few days, and two weeks later he has made a complete recovery! We are thankful for Dr. Van Hooser and Carriage Hills team for taking care of Thor. If we lived closer we would have Carriage Hills be our dogs normal vet. -Allison and Tyler Dye

These folks were incredibly professional and kind to our dog. Our dog needed an adrenalectomy and the doctor and his technician were incredibly kind and compassionate. We were from Florida and our drive was long but it was well worth it to have these kind people take care of us. Very thankful for all their help.

There isn't enough space for all the words I could use to express our gratitude to the staff here. Morgan, our seven year old golden Irish had eaten objects he shouldn't have. After surgery everyone was very supportive and clear on what to expect. Things didn't go that way and our pup ended up needing extra care as well as another surgery. Both surgeons were outstanding. I was updated nightly (10 night stay) with any changes as well as pictures and let me know if his spirits were up. I was fortunate enough to visit him twice a day as I didn't want to strain their already busy schedule or intrude. Through all of this, Mary, Erika, India, and Lauren went above and beyond for us in every way possible from helping me visit to literally saving Morgan's life. Dr Carswell, Dr Carlson, and Dr Kitchens were wonderful. There are many that I'm unable to name as I'm horrible with names, but I want everyone involved with us through this rough time to know just how grateful our family is for everything they did. He's now back home with us resting and continuing his recovery only because of this wonderful group of amazing people.

The experience we had was remarkable and worth the 1.5 hour drive. Dr. Kitchens was able to sit with me and explain the diagnosis in full detail and answered all my questions. She was very knowledgeable and listened to what I had to say. The office staff and nurse (Tina & Nicole) were so kind with my pup and rushed her in within seconds of arrival. Highly recommend for ER care.
