Do not waste your time or money on this place. The owner (Kimberly) is very disrespectful, dishonest, and out right rude. I will never recommend her or this place to anyone. I have been a client here for over two years that I take my FOUR DOGS to get groomed at. The first mistake that took place was I took my Aussiedoodle there it took her THREE DAYS, to complete a summer cut. First excuse they didn’t get the shampoo out, second excuse was her hair didn’t dry, and the third excuse was she didn’t have one. Fast forward four months, I have two other aussiedoodles that I take to her. As I explained in person and over the phone, I understand they have mats and I am willing to pay additional please let me know what I need to do. It took her FOUR DAYS to NOT even get the job completed or to communicate they needed to be taken else where there for she wasted my time, gas, and money. As she used every excuse in the book as to why they were not groomed. This also happened the weekend of Memorial Day. Which left me on a Thursday night getting a call at 7:30 pm saying we cannot complete your dogs. I had to had them to another groomer that took pity on me and my dogs. The first photos of their hair messed up was her attempt to trim them. The second photos of them cleaned up is a job VERY WELL RESPECTFULLY DONE by BARKEYS BOUTIQUE GROOM SALON. They are wonderful.Do not waste your time and money here. Kimberly, you are a liar, a manipulator, and cause your LOVLEY staff unnecessary drama. You ask them to lie about your where abouts. You also do not return phone calls as I have been calling over a week now. Once again. This place is pathetic and Kimberly is a disgrace.Edit: these are also inside dogsEdit: the owner also wanted to make a personal post about me on her Facebook page so I wanted to share with you all the type of person you are dealing with. I also gave the owner, Kimberly, a chance to apologize before I posted anything and she did not want to take ownership of the situation.

My wife and I took our labradoodle here six times. Six times, we asked them to cut his hair the same length all around. We paid $70 every time and didn't get the haircut we requested once. They had a chart that had the instructions we repeated six times written down and highlighted. The last three times, we asked them to repeat our simple instructions, “same length all around.” After our last visit, I returned my dog to get his tail and ears trimmed to the length we requested. They agreed that his cut did not match the one we requested, so they took him in, trimmed his tail, and walked him back out without trimming his ears. When I asked for them to trim the ears, they said they had no time but would call me back when they did. They never called, so I called them and made an appointment. Then, the day before his appointment, they called to let me know they would charge me for another haircut. I’m giving them two stars because they try hard to be friendly.

Our dog was groomed on July 15th. He came home shaved to the skin in some spots with patches of untouched hair in others. Shaved eyelashes on one eye, hair too long on the other. Shaved to the skin behind one ear, big puffs of hair on the other. Shaved to the skin up his front leg, big patch of hair on the elbow. It's just so splotchy. He had been groomed the Monday before we dropped him off, so he was wearing a cute bandana. They removed it, which was a bummer because he looked so cute wearing it. They also charged the "large dog" rate for our barely 40lb pup.

Read the reviews and was scared as… anyway, they did a good job. My standard poodle has been about 3 times and each time he came back as expected. They are nice people and communicate well.

Excellent first experience with The Barkery! They are very nice and easy to work with. Had my dogs cake ready in less than 24 hours. I definitely recommend this place!!

This is not what we expected. His nails were not clipped and his ears wasn’t cleaned. I called to talk to the groomer and was told she could not be reached. We were charged the maximum amount to shave our dog bald. This haircut is not even close to the picture that was presented.

You can really see how much they care for the fur baby clients and their parents. Their treatments are amazing, they do baths, messages, hair removal brushes them so well and does all styles and sizes of grooming. I was very happy to see when you board your fur babies they have someone there with them 24 hours a day . That means so much to me. They make wonderful treats from scratch that look so good and healthy. I know that mine will be there quite often. You can trust that when you take your fur child there they get the best care possible!

Took my dog to the Barkery in October 2020. It was z horrible experience. I blame myself because I waited until the last minute to make a boarding appointment at my usually facility, which is Golden Animal Hospital in Pike Road(great service and care everytime!). We boarded our 18 month old golden doodle for 10 days. He was supposed to be groomed the last day he was there. We keep his hair long so he was only supposed to be washed and trimmed. When I dropped him off, the receptionist was nice enough but the place smelled very bad. I've used several dog care facilities since we're new to Montgomery and the Bakery was by far the worst in cleanliness. The dogs and the administration area are all in one. This created a very unorganized check-in since the receptionist was moving, picking up and pushing dogs off the counter the entire check-in. I looked over this because we were literally flying out of town the same day.10 days later, I called to the Barkery know I was headed to pick my dog up. They told me that they had to cut his hair down low because he had a few matted areas on his legs. I didn't like that but its understandable. I arrive to the counter and the owner hands me a bag of hair to "prove" how bad the matts were! They brought my dog out and he was literally shaved down to skin😥 It was so sad! They didn't even grind or clip his nails. It was clear that they had no clue what they were doing. They couldn't find his collar and leash. They said that I must have taken it with me. I usually take them with me at my normal grooming place but I thought I remembered leaving them. I didn't take the time to debate the point because I was almost numb at the sight of my dog. I just kept telling myself, "This is your fault for waiting too long to make an appointment and taking him to the ONLY place that had an opening" Now I know why they had an opening. For the life of me, I can not figure out how people are giving this place good reviews. When I get home and the family and I console each other, lol.....I find my dogs collar and flea collar buried in his door food that I had left with the Barkery. My dog also wouldn't eat for days after we got him back and he was sick for at least a week. He sneezing and vomiting. Btw, he smelled horrible. I was trying to figure out what they used to wash him and if they actually bathed him the day before I picked him up.This was the worst experience ever and I would learn to groom my own dog if this was the only place open. On top of all of this, the receptionist and owner never apologized for the haircut. They basically blamed me because I let him get matts.Worst experience ever!

This is hands down the best place to take your dog in the state. I just read some negative reviews on this great business. It looks like these people don't have there facts straight. You could not ask for someone to love and care for your pet better than Kimberly. She is the only person i have ever known that truly 100% of the time put the pets and the customers first each and every time. I can't say enough great things about Kimberly and her staff.

It's a dog fun place. My first visit left me with the desire to be one of the regular customers. Very personable, relaxed and welcoming. Pet owners dropping off their fur babies to the day care would open the gate to the upstairs area and take off their leash. Dogs would bound up the steps and the owners would leave without a worry. I can't wait to see how my pups look when I pick them up today. If you need a groomer or doggy day care - check them out.

My fur baby and I love The Barkery!! The staff is so friendly and so sweet! My baby loves it there! I love seeing his pictures on Facebook of him playing with the other dogs!! The staff truly has a love for their job as they care so deeply about each and every dog that comes in!!

There is no doubt that there are plenty of boarding and grooming places to go to in Montgomery. HOWEVER, The Barkery has a staff that is loving and caring. I have been going here for about 6 years. The staff is unbelievably loving and caring. They become emotional attached to your dogs and become your friend. Kim, Steve, and Sydni are all so very sweet. If your dog is not the playful type, then they may not like this place. The Barkery has a very dog friendly natural playful atmosphere where all of the dogs get to be dogs! They get to play and socialize with one another and get treats and loved on by the staff. Every dog owner is particular in their own way and that's understanding. But despite them being our fur children, they are still dogs and want to play with one another and run around. If you want your dog to have fun and be loved and for you to feel secure knowing that they are safe, then the Barkery is the place to go!! I'll never go elsewhere. My dog instantly gets excited the moment we pull up and is eager to run inside. That lets me know that they too love going there. And don't get me started on how amazing they smell when they get groomed. As silly as it sounds, I could smell my dog all day after they get groomed. I LOVE THE BARKERY!!!!

This place has helped my dog tremendously with his separation anxiety. The staff was amazing and took a lot of time making sure he was comfortable and okay being there without his family. He absolutely loves going now and tries to fight me to leave. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place!

The staff at the Barkery are awesome! When I first brought my Jax in they ask a lot of questions at first and realized they just cared about him. He has anxieties and they made him feel good enough for me to leave without much fanfare. He must have played hard because he was out not long after getting home. I see why you ask questions like allergies, a jumper, aggressive etc. They cleaned him up and obviously took good care of him. Thank you Kim, I can see you are a true animal lover.

Such a GREAT staff! My dogs have so much fun & I have never felt like people care about my dogs as much as they do at The Barkery. 10/10 would recommend to anyone with any kind of dog!

I took my sons dog here and my husband picked him up. The grooming was fine. They brought him out the wrong dog. They brought him the wrong collar. They made the dog walk through a room full of unsecured dogs which terrified my dog. My husband was very upset I took the dog to this location. I cannot recommend a place that allows grooming dogs to mix in with other dogs they dont know.

Today I brought in my pit mix to get her nails clipped. She has never been a fan of having her paws touched, much less letting us clip her nails. Kim & her staff at The Barkery went above & beyond to make it an easy (instead of terrifying) experience for my Harleigh Girl. I even rewarded her with some of their delicious homemade dog treats. When Harleigh got some she was all smiles & absolutely loved her Banana Cupcake and Zebra Cookie. I would definitely recommend The Barkery to anyone looking for pet grooming, doggie daycare or even just a nail clip.

I witnessed the entire staff act in a rude and extremely unprofessional manner . The entire staff allowed my sister's dog, Midnight, to walk away from the facility due to the staff not regularly monitoring the outside activities of the animals. Furthermore, they waited until a family member arrived at the facility to pick up the dog instead of calling the emergency contacts to notify of the situation, approximately 30 minutes after Midnight ran off. The owner, Kimbery, argued with us, accused us of calling her a derogatory term, admitted she lied about being called a derogatory term, and then refused to look for the dog. This incident occurred on Thursday, July 2nd. Today is July 5th and we have yet to hear from Kimberly on the status of the search for our dog. I highly recommend that you look elsewhere for your dog sitting needs.

Pet Parents BEWARE! On July 2, I dropped my dog Midnight off at The Barkery, we planned to go out of town, so we let the staff member know that we would want to do daycare and boarding, because we planned to go out of town and would be back late. We ended up not going out of town, so my sister called The Barkery at 5:35 to inform them that we would not be boarding and we were coming to pick midnight up, she said okay, everything seemed normal. My sister got to The Barkery 6 minutes later and call and through tears told me that the Barkery allowed my dog to get out of their gate, around 5:00pm, THIRTY MINUTES AGO. Apparently Haley the staff worker, did not want to upset her and tell her over the phone. Mind you, they thought we were boarding, and at no point did they reach out to either Emergency contact listed on the paperwork, had my sister not unexpectedly showed up, it looks like they had no plan to reach out. We were told that Haley was in one room(making mop water), and Kimberly the owner was in another room(cleaning) while the dogs were outside, and unattended. They heard a loud noise, and a customer who was coming to pick up their dog came in and informed them that a black dog with a blue collar had gotten out. They had no idea because they weren't watching. One Hour later, me and my siblings were out looking for my dog with NO ASSISTANCE from The Barkery. No one called either of Midnight's listed emergency contacts, reached out to establish a perimeter, or even apologize and explain what happened. I had to reach out to Kimberly and request that she call me via text. When she did call, she did not apologize, she simply blamed us because he jumped the fence, all while not looking for my dog that she lost. My dog has been coming to the barkery since they were on Woodley rd, and he's never jumped. Around 7 I went back to Barkery, and Kimberly and her significant other, Jake arrived( how she had time to go get her boyfriend while she claimed she was looking for my dog, not sure). Kimberly ran inside the building, never spoke, never apologized and sent Jake, who is not an owner of The Barkery, to "deal" with us. Apparently, Kimberly had lied to Jake and told him that she was threatened by myself on the phone and was called a b****h, which was untrue, I was actually quite pleasant all considered. When Kimberly finally came outside, I asked her was she ever threaten or called any obscenity and she said no that never happened. Jake went off to smoke his KOOL cigarette, because the whole reason he came was because of her lie.Why Kimberly would make herself to be the victim when she lost my dog is beyond me. Kimberly yelled us, blamed us, cursed, and never once apologized. I understand that things happen, but if you're a dog sitter and you lose the dog, you need to take some form of responsibility and at least be sorry and try to help. Instead of being concerned, Kimberly(owner) and her daughter, and another staff member keep screaming about their "Livelihood". Thankfully, me and my family were able to go out looking at 6:00 am and posting lost posters and found Midnight near Huntingdon College. The staff members saw us looking for our dog, offered no help, and still no apology. Today is July 9, and The Barkery has never followed up, or showed any concern for their negligence. My dog refuses to leave me or my sisters side since this event, so I'd advise you to find another place to drop off your four legged family member.
