Extremely friendly store. Jeremy helped me not only load heavy gardening bags into my cart, but also escorted me to pay and then reloaded them into my car. Very friendly and extremely mature young man, Ace Hardware he’s a keeper.

Shop local ! Locally owned and operated.. Yes its a franchise but that's just brand recognition and bulk purchase buy down power. With out a doubt these is the most customer driven hardware store in Montgomery. I Drive by Home Depot for hand tools and our local company projects "DYI". Not a lumber yard or big box store for builders.

Went into ace the other day and the staff has fallen off. It is hard to get help from people like it use to he 6 months ago. Aaron was not helpful and acted really shady when I was looking at tools. Felt uncomfortable while shopping. Some employees were laying around on the swings and patio furniture in the store. Still have excellent employees like John yow and Kevin and Steven who are helpful when they are working but the staff they had when I was there just were not engaging and helpful. I miss the days when you go into a small hardware store and get good help.

It’s good for small things. I come here for garden and yard supplies, and yes it’s more expensive but it’s convenient at times. But I will say don’t buy lawn equipment because they don’t do returns. They have signs stating this and it scared me away a few times.

Today if I could give this store a zero I would. I have been in this store before and received great customer service, but the last 2 times i have received the worst customer service from the same associate. Her favorite word is NO. She makes you feel as if you are bothering her. I came in to get glass cut and she said NO, I can only cut squares, I told her that is not what the website said. She just looked at me like I was stupid. While I was in the store, i decided to purchase some light bulbs that they carry and that the only other place, I can find them is on Amazon. She stated NO that they do not carry them any longer. I asked if they carried anything close to them. Her reply was NO. Again looking at me like I am stupid. Someone needs to either teach her customer service skills or take her off the sales floor. I decided to leave and just go and order off line at Amazon because I can get better customer service ordering from my computer that I was receiving in the store.After reviewing the web site, I saw that they repair window screens. I called in hoping to get another associate, but again Miss Rude thing answered the phone. I told her that I had a window screen that I need to get repaired and I saw on the web site that they repaired them. Again NO, we don't do that. Time to find another retailer who wants my money.

Absolute worst experience I have ever had went there with a couple of things I was looking for to start knocking out some of the repairs and just upkeep of my home and was repeatedly harassed by the staff asking the same questions over and over and since I was browsing and checking options as well as cost and comparing things I was in no rush and as I am generally a private person I paid the employees not much mind and continued to my shopping when I was rudely accounted by what I have to assume is store manager from his aggressive, accusatory behavior ans he proceeded to follow me like some 3rd grade bully harassing me and making derogatory statements and honestly I was shocked to see such an rude, unintelligent, and just overall embarrassing and immature behavior from a so called professional. I will never ever set foot in such an atrocious malicious store again and would advise the rest of you to do the same the store is very poorly stocked the employees are about as knowledgeable as a box of rocks and just rude, arrogant, hostile, immature bullies who I'm sure contribute to the fact that the store is always empty and they never get in anything new. By far the worst overall staff and experience I have ever had and the franchise should be embarrassed by and would do well to simply wipe the vile slate clean and just try and start over again. Still shaking my head in complete disbalief

Pretty sure this is the first Ace I've been to in this region. Nice store and kinda cool to visit a place that's not one of the bigger box stores. Staff was friendly, personable, and helpful. I was looking for paint samples and they really took the time to help me explore some options similar to my desired color. The samples were very reasonably priced.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I went here this morning to pick up blades I had sharpened. I went back to the key counter and as usual, no one was around. I called the store from my cell and when a lady answered, I told her I needed some assistance at the back key counter. She said “ you’re in the store?”… I said yes and she said someone would be there shortly. This same lady walked back to the counter and immediately started telling me that next time I need help I need to walk around the store and find someone to help me. I said “No. I’ve done that in the past and that’s the reason I called- so I wouldn’t have to wander around the store.” She then said that if I don’t want to find someone then I need to tell the person at the register when I walk in that I need help at the back counter. I said I called the store to get help and I asked her to please just get my items so I can leave. Of course, she had an angry/irritated expression all over her face. As she walked to the back I apologized “for being such an inconvenience to her.” She said I wasn’t and I said that she seemed very irritated. She then proceeded to start telling me that next time I just need to go find someone to help me. I again asked her to get my items and she finally did. I expressed how rude she was to the man at the register, but of course, he just smiled and said “Ok.” (Which translates to: Ok- I don’t care and neither does anyone else.)There was absolutely no reason for this lady to keep arguing with me because she didn’t approve of me calling the store to ask for help. Needless to say, I will not be back to this store.

Kayla was awesome, she is very knowledgeable about services offered. She actually educated me on the proper refill on propane and how it is measured in regards to expelling air out of the tank to allow the propane gas to fill up!! I been to multiples facilities that offer this gas and was never once educated on proper use of removing the air. Thank you Kayla for your professionalism and safety teaching. I will definitely return !!!

The employees are exceptional. It is amazing how the store can be as small as it is and have the amount of stock that they do. I prefer it over The Home Depot and Lowe's.02 June 2022I went there to speak to an employee. While I was there I decided to look for a gardening tool that I had given up on finding anywhere. Dawg gone it if they didn't have it!!! I happily purchased it. I am still amazed how they stock so much and offer so many varieties for the small size the store is. Once again, the employees are amazing. I highly recommend Capital City Ace Hardware.06 January 2023I am pleased that I went here rather than Home Depot this afternoon. The people working at Ace Hardware are super friendly and helpful. It is a pleasure to shop there. It would be wonderful if more people in Montgomery were to shop here before Home Depot or Lowe's.25 March 2023I went there yesterday looking for Big Green Egg accessories. As always the staff working there are very friendly, cheerful, polite and helpful. I get the feeling they deeply appreciate my shopping there. Another aspect of life slowly disappearing.17 April 2023Last Friday evening I went to Home Depot to buy gasoline containers and a watering wand. They had zero gasoline containers and only one watering wand option. Saturday I went to Capitol City Ace Hardware and they have a selection of types and sizes of gasoline containers and options for watering wands. I want to apologize to the owner and employees of Capitol City Ace Hardware for not shopping with them first. It boggles my mind as they are 100th the size of The Home Depot. I returned the low quality watering wand to Home Depot after buying the one I wanted at Ace Hardware.

Customer service is a little lacking with this location. Every time I visit the store, I can't find anyone who can answer my questions knowledgeably or sell me the correct item I need. I placed an online order on 3/24 for in store pickup and never received a phone or email that my order was ready until 4/20. Heather claims that she called me several times regarding my order; however, I haven't had any missed calls or voicemails from the store. When I said this she became irritate with me and advised that I could cancel the order. Gladly requested that the order be cancelled and most likely will not be back.

The service Here is outstanding.I went in on Saturday 7/11 and needed some bolts for a tractor.A young man up front went back and helped me find the specific size and grade of bolts I needed and even got the pricing all written down to take up front.His enthusiasm and willingness to help really shined I can’t say enough about the service he offered.Smaller hardware stores beat big box every day.

I was going to give it 4 stars but really I don't have a single complaint so to be fair they get 5 stars and here is why:Their online ordering is easy, they stock more than you think they could in that small of a building, their staff has always been pleasant and hard working in the 30+times I have been there, their store is super clean and organized. All of that is the opposite feel of how you get treated in Lowes or Home Depot where you are lucky to get help at all.The only real downside is they are slightly higher on most everything than big box stores but that's expected. I tend to just swing in and get the few items I need or emergency items and don't care about the cost difference.

I love this store! The staff is amazing, prices are competitive, and their stock is always on point. I could almost run my entire repair business from this location. Grab an ice cream and soda on your way out and sign up for the rewards program. Everything is easy to find, you'll love it after one visit.

This place is great. The staff members are very friendly and I believe that's what will make them successful in this area. They are eager to help you find exactly what you're looking for as soon as you walk in the door. Their prices aren't the lowest in town, but they make up for it in customer service. The store is always clean and organized. They have had everything I've been looking for every time I've visited.
