I am so thankful for Wags and whiskers. This is where I got my little Gracie/AKA Daisy. I wanted another Maltese but couldn’t afford to buy one, so I prayed and before too long I received her. She still has some quirks from her previous life but that’s ok I just love her right where she’s at. It’s been almost a year and she has really grown and opened up. Thank you Wags and Whiskers!

I am very suspicious of this organization. I was interested in adopting one of their older dogs named Jazz. His profile said heartworm negative. When I asked to meet him I was informed that he was positive for heartworms. I went to meet him anyway. I took my Golden Retriever with me. We went inside and the lady's home reeked of urine. She had 7 dogs.My Golden was terrified and poor Jazz was in desperate need of medical attention! I asked about his medical care and found that he had no medical care since he left the shelter 5 months prior. I took Jazz and rushed to my vet who said that if I hadn't brought him in when I did he would have been dead within 2-3 days from pulmonary edema! He had scabs all over his little chest and tummy from fleas, he was coughing nonstop and having difficulty breathing. Anyone could have seen he needed to see a vet. I called animal control! I worry about the animals in their care.

I contacted Wags and Whiskers in Grand Bay, AL. There is no address, no phone number, and no contact name - only email. When we travelled to meet the dog, (an 11lb Maltese) the foster explained that the animal wasn't just timid, she bites! When I asked if they were affiliated with WAW in Mobile, she was unsure. The foster brought this timid, antisocial, biting dog loose in her car and when she tried to capture the dog so we could get a closer look, the poor animal crawled under the dashboard. My husband spent at least 30 minutes taking the car apart and finally got her out. The foster ended up wrapping the dog in a blanket and holding her while she drove home! The whole thing was very suspicious. Again, this is not a review of the Mobile franchise.

Dont say that you are going to reach out to every applicant when you dont. There is an address on your page, and apparently no one works at that building. My dad made a trip all the way from the state line to the said address. Kinda shotty if you ask me.

Rude for no reason. No idea why the lady got an attitude with me when she asked to take a pet I am looking for a home for to “rehome” for a profit. What sense does that make to take an animal already trying to be adopted out for free so you can make a profit? I do have a rehoming fee that goes right back to the other animals I take care of and foster but she gonna put “foster” in quotations like I’m a joke or something lol stay out of my inbox unsolicited and mind your business. And if you really cared you’d post the animal anyway and advertise him for free. My local shelter does it. Most other shelters do that. Seems Money hungry to me

I adopted a dog from this group in July. We went to the foster home to look at her and the foster person asked if we wanted to take her home. Of course we did and fell in love! Received an email that we shouldn't have taken her. Maybe the foster needed more training?? Not our fault. We took her to their vet to be spayed and they discovered that she has heartworms. I emailed and was told they MAY be able to help. Then never heard back. I had to move away for a couple months. Emailed today to see if they could help me with treating her. Response was that they use the slow method which is the heartworm preventative every month... Do you not have her on a monthly preventative?? You initialed that you would in the signed contract. Really?? No I don't bc she is hw positive! Very unprofessional and uncaring toward my dog!

I have worked with and fostered through this agency and others from different areas of the country. This agency has provided, hands-down, the best communication I have worked with. I get responses within hours of reaching out. While there is no physical address for the agency, because the company is completely maintained by volunteers, the Facebook page is also updated almost daily and again, contact via private messaging on Facebook has also been extraordinarily fast.As far as the treatment of the dogs, the veterinarians in the area help sustain the agency. National Humane Society guidelines recommend that all shelter animals be altered prior to adoption. Ideally they state as early as six weeks old however some states do require until the animals are eight weeks old. From experience, I can assure you that this is what is being required of the foster families providing services for this agency.Transportation out of state is difficult, but it is possible. Because of the complications with manning the transportation itself, there are going to be some delays. This is not uncommon and is often also the case when you have spent an exorbitant amount of money on a purebred dog.

I have adopted with Wags and Whiskers, as well, as fostered and volunteered. They are an all volunteer group and truly do their best and are making a huge difference in our community for unwanted pets. If there is an issue please contact them directly and they will do their best to correct it. Also, they are an all foster based rescue and do not have a physical location or direct line. So whoever posted the information here on google were wrong. None of the information provided as far as address and phone number is correct. The way to contact them is through their email or Facebook page.

Wags and whiskers worked with us every step of the process of getting our sweet little boy from a foster into our forever home. He is so happy and even though he is the smallest, he loves his brother and sister, playing in the big fenced yard, and chilling in the recliner. This was not an overnight process so if it takes a little while don't get frustrated. It's worth it and the people that are taking the time to get these animals to a forever home have jobs and responsibilities on top of taking these sweet babies in.

The worst communication ever and incredibly unprofessional. The worst thing though is their mistreatment of these poor animals. They spay/neuter these animals before they are even 8 weeks old which can cause serious health problems. Reputable Vets won't fix them until they are at least 6 months to a year old. My vet was appalled and said our babies may be incontinent before they are 2 years old. They shouldn't be in this business if this is how they are going to treat animals.

I have been waiting since the beginning of November for a dog from them. After about 2 weeks I got an email saying they didn't think it a good idea to transport. Then I saw Max on their Facebook site. Immediately said I would take him. I should have known something was up when they wouldn't let me pay for him. They said they arrange for transport wonderful and last Monday a week ago 10 days ago now I sent him an email asking what was going on and I was told everything is that on our end and they would contact transport that afternoon and call me with the arrangements. After not hearing again I'm till this past Monday I email them again is there a problem with transport what's I'd like to know what's going on. About two hours ago I read an email from them that said they were behind and had to get back on track and transport wasn't going to happen and there was very sorry. Well honestly after all this time I believe it to be all lies the thing that should have tipped me off was that they would not let me pay for Max. People be aware be very aware I don't believe this place can operate like this. I'm sorry this is so long but I wanted to put it in this good a detail as I could I'm right now sitting here looking at all the stuff that I bought for him his new fluffy bag and everything else anyway C'est La Vie they say.

They truly make a difference in helping animals. And to the lady who said her dogs wasn't house trained like she was told almost any dog you get from a shelter or rescue that has been house trained needs to be re trained for every new house and home they go to due to it being a new place new ppl and new layout and new potty schedule.

I have had similar experiences as the other person who gave a review. Filled out the adoption paperwork, was denied because someone at Wags said our Vet didn't have records on us - but they absolutely DO have records and i made certain to give permission for release of any info needed by Wags.I asked them to call my Vet AGAIN and request the info. I was told they would call, but my Vet told me they did not hear from them at all. Another day wasted, while the 2 poor kittens sitting at PetSmart are being kept in a cage for unending days when they COULD be in my very loving home, if only Wags would be responsible enough to facilitate the adoption. Why the holdup? What could be ANY possible reason for continuing to keep those kittens caged at PetSmart when i am ready, willing, and able to adopt them and should be passing their reference check with flying colors?I DON'T UNDERSTAND.ARE YOU IN THE BUSINESS OF ADOPTING PETS OUT, OR NOT?WHY IS THERE SUCH A PROBLEM WITH A SIMPLE ADOPTION OF TWO KITTENS?I MEAN REALLY, WHY HAVE YOU MADE THIS ADOPTION SO COMPLICATED AND FRUSTRATING?I HONESTLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND - DO YOU PREFER THEM CAGED AT PETSMART? ALL IT WOULD TAKE IS A SINGLE PHONE CALL!!SMH...UNBELIEVABLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Some of the worst contacting I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been trying to see 3 dogs for 2 weeks now and two have been adopted before I got a response and now I’m working on 48 hours without another response about the 3rd dog. Everyone has a cellphone and looks at it CONSTANTLY. I don’t see why a simple email response is taking this long. Very unprofessional.

There are so many animals in shelters and there are wonderful homes (like mine) that want to adopt. But jumping through all the hoops like filling out an adoption application and never hearing anything back and then getting very short unhelpful responses is not helping these animals.

I adopted two small dogs back in Oct/Nov time frame. I was told they were fully house trained, not true in the least, neither one of them ever make an attempt to go outside to potty.
