Update: I changed my rating because I placed a pre-order on Sunday for pickup on Wednesday. The pick up window is 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. When I arrived my order was not ready. They told me it would be another 30 minutes because they were baking. They could have text or called to say that the order would not be ready or that it would be delayed. I emailed and called after I left the bakery. I received a email at 7:02 p.m. that I could pick up the items that I ordered the following day. When I called the bakery directly, I left a voicemail and I never received a call back. The Sammies are good the customer service could have been a much better. I see in other reviews that they do text or call when the ordering is delayed, maybe they only do that for regular customers.*********ellenJay is amazing, just amazing!!I'm not usually in Midtown but today I decided to make a special trip to ellenJay.It's hard to resist this adorable Bakery boutique because customer service is wonderful and the Buttercream Peanut butter Sammies, Lemon Tea Cakes and that Sweet Potato cupcake are out of this world.I decided to get a few things because I'm not on that side of town often and I'm so glad I did. It took me a few days to get through everything and it was definitely worth it.As I entered, I was greeted by a smiling eyes and display case of baked goodness. It was hard for me decide what to order, so I asked to recommendations.I can't remember the lady's name and she had a mask on so it's hard to recognize if she was one of the owners. But she was so very helpful and friendly.She recommended the Sweet Potato cupcake. She said it was a customer favorite and after taking one bite, I know why. Next, the Buttercream Sammy, I chose the Peanut Butter because its.. peanut butter and I love peanut butter. I've had Sammies before but this one is by far the best. The buttercream was light and the cookie was absolutely perfect. It is everything you hope a Peanut Butter cookie would be and so much more. I'm a huge fan of lemon and she said the Tea cake was a moist cookie with a bold lemon flavor and she was right. It was delicious.Check out their website, they offer shipping and curbside pickup. I see a curbside pickup for some cupcakes and a Peanut Butter Sammie, in the not to distant future.See ya there

EllenJay is literally amazing!! They made my wedding cake and dessert bar and it's something that guests still talk about to this day (almost 2 years later)! I'm a wedding photographer as well and EllenJay always does such a great job! I get excited when I see their names on the vendor list because I know I'm in for a treat! HIRE THEM!!!

I've used Ellenjay for several events and even just to satisfy a spur of the moment sweet tooth. I have always had a great experience! The cookies are unlike any other.. not only are they beautiful but they taste wonderful too. They are perfect texture, sweetness, and always decorated to perfection! If you haven't yet experienced I recommend you do so asap!

Most of the time you can have a pretty treat or a tastey treat, some how the girls at Ellen Jay have mastered the art of giving you both. I have purchased more cookies than I can count and been on the receiving end of many Ellen Jay gifts as well. They package as beautifully and they decorate. I have never had a bad experience there. They are also professional, polite and are willing to help you figure out just what you need. Give them a try-or a taste- you won’t be disappointed.

EllenJay is by FAR one of the BEST dessert shops in Mobile! Not only are they incredible service oriented, but their talent with recipes and design is incredible ! They create the CUTEST desserts and I LOVED trusting them with the dessert table at my own wedding! I was in from out of town working in Mobile and I searched for hometown bakery and this was first on the list. So I knew I had to stop by after reading all of the awesome reviews and believe my they did not disappoint! Cute little shop, too! I wish i could say I shared what I bought but I didn’t I ended up eating except for two and I’m sure they’ll be gone by tomorrow night! Thanks for being on the top of the list! Yummy!

So, based upon the reviews and what people were saying "in the streets", I decided to give them a try. Fifteen minutes before closing, I stroll in and one of the owners was very pleasant, patient, and helpful in assisting me in making such a big decision about what dessert I wanted to eat later on that evening. Needless to say, I settled on the enormous chocolate chip ice cream cookie!!!! It was everything I was looking for!! But, I did half it, so I'll eat the other portion tonight-can't wait!!! The cookie as delicious with a nice texture to hold up to the amount of ice cream there is in the middle. And the ice cream is really good and creamy! So happy to have found this "gem" on Airport!! Will definitely be going back sooner than later!

I will tell you something about these ladies...they are FABULOUS! From our cake tasting all the way to the wedding day. They exceeded my expectations with our beautiful cookies, my wedding cake, and groom cake. They took are ideas and went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfectly sweet. I can't wait to go back on our one year anniversary to get a cake from them!This is now our bakery for sure. I can't wait to have them be part of all our events for years to come with their delicious treats.Their prices are great and the customer service is out of this world.

I LOVE ELLENJAY!We used them for our wedding cake table because their Sammies are my absolute FAVORITE food! It was such a fun and enjoyable experience working with Jennifer and Lauren. They have THE best cookies! I love them so much I can honestly say they are my FAVORITE food! I am from Leroy, AL, which is about an hour and a half away from Mobile, AL and I cannot make a trip to Mobile without a stop at ellenJAY. My mother was diagnosed with stage four cancer in April and I have gone on and on about their cookies to her. I stopped by ellenJAY per usual when I am in Mobile, except this time I was getting my mom a cookie to try while she was in the hospital there. I got there on a day ellenJAY was closed and all I told them was that I want a cookie. They opened the doors to me that day when they did not have to and I was able to share with my mother my favorite food! It made both of our day! The cookies and the people there are so amazing! I have and will continue to tell everyone I can about how amazing ellenJAY is. The environment when walking into their store is so comforting and helpful! The owners are amazing! THANK YALL SO MUCH! MY FAMILY LOVES YOU!

Excellent all the way through! So many at my wedding were talking about how delicious the desserts were. I had red velvet cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes for the guests then the wedding cake for me and my husband was double vanilla. It tasted AMAZING. You won’t regret booking them. I’m honestly sad that I live too far away to order another cake from them! Maybe I’ll get some next time I find myself back in town 🤤

These girls are doing it right - Was drawn to their booth at theJunior League Christmas Bazaar - I saw their cupcakes in ajar (I'd seen something similar on Shark tank) - Had to try them- ellenJAY's were better than the originals. I’m guessing I caught them at a bad time because I walked in and there was no clear understanding as to where the goods were located and where I would need to pay for them. There was a lady on the phone who immediately walked away when I entered the building, so after standing there momentarily, I decided to follow her path — not realizing she was a staff member going into the kitchen! After a bit of awkwardness, a kind clerk assisted me and shared that they were making some changes. Nevertheless, the supply was a bit small, and they didn’t have cupcakes; but my sweet tooth was relentless, so I indulged. I purchased red velvet cake in a jar and a chocolate chip Sammie with buttercream icing. Unfortunately, the buttercream for both desserts lacked butter. It was too sweet for my liking and didn’t have the texture I’m accustomed to. Further, the chocolate chip cookies were not very tasty. They seemed pretty dry and tasted as if they were at least a day or two old. I wish I’d had the experience so many others seemed to have had! I’m giving three stars solely for the kind clerk who assisted me, otherwise, I’d leave a one-star rating.

The cake was beautiful, unique, moist, AND delicious! I was so impressed... often you have to sacrifice some of the flavor components when you get a specialty cake. What a relief to have delicious, melt-in-your-mouth buttercream, and moist, delicious cake.. all at the same time!Thank you again. I’m so glad you had space in your schedule for Peyton’s cake. 🤗(PS: we thought a sparkler / candle incorporated into the unicorn’s horn would be a cool touch 😉)Can’t wait for my next special occasion need so I can call y’all again!

I loved the cookies they made for my kids PAW PATROL BIRTHDAY PARTY! Although they did not have the copy rights to do the exact designs from the kids cartoon show, they used their own designs and added the colors of my kids party theme! From the pictures & reviews this place looked like it would be perfect for our wedding coming up. I was really exicted, until I realized they don't really care about making their customers happy, only making money. I realize the quality is beautiful & probably tastes amazing too, but when I contacted them inquiring about "custom flavors" (basically anything besides vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or lemon) they wanted to charge me $70 extra, & $200+ for a close by delivery, tack that on with the prices of the wedding cake ($15 charges left & right for everything they can find to charge you for) & them insisting you rent a $35 pedastal too, I would be looking at a outrageous bill. $70 extra for a "custom flavor" just tells me they don't want to have to run to the store to get literally the one ingredient to make the flavor we would like for our wedding cake, & that if they are going to do it well by God they are going to milk you for all the money they can.

Oh my gosh, where do I start with EllenJay??? Lauren and Jennifer and so friendly and truly love what they do — which is take the customer’s dream and make it reality. Everything is so yummy - my favorites are the tea cakes but the s’mores cake jars are out of this world also. When you consider the time and artistry that they put into their products , it is money well spent. I am really looking forward to the dessert table they are making for my daughter’s wedding reception.
