LOVE coming here while in town- such a cute coffee shop built inside an old Mobile house. Just short of 30 years of being in business. There's tons of tables- probably about 15 within the front and back of the house there's 2 little seating areas as well. The coffee was fresh and my king cake muffin was so yummy! The staff is super helpful.

Despite usually being busy (because it's so awesome), this cozy coffee shop has a great atmosphere. A wrap-around porch offers more seating, with pet-friendly accommodations. Have had a number of their scratch made desserts, which includes the BEST red velvet cake EVER. (The only thing I'd change about it, is there are actually TOO many pecans both pressed into the icing and in the filling layers. Imho, they could at least eliminate the nuts inside.) Their strawberry icebox pie could be placed next to your grandma's, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Staff is always very nice and quick service.

Had a fantastic latte here while visiting town, so much so that I came back the next morning prior to my flight leaving. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I brought in my own thermos to save them a cup and they gladly made my pour in it.They have two nice porches you can sit out on and enjoy the weather, but there is ample seating inside as well.If I’m back in town, I know where to find a good brew.

I stopped here on my way home from vacation and I just saw it on the side of the road. I was greeted with the best smell when I walked in and the atmosphere was comfy, cozy, and friendly. The staff were very nice and the service was so quick for how busy it was, but above it all, the coffee was AMAZING. probably the only time i’ll ever be in this area and i took a chance on a coffee stop and i do not regret it one bit. only wish i had it back home!

If we're ever back in town, this will definitely be our go to spot. They didn't have what we wanted on the menu, however the guys assured us if they had the ingredients, then they could make it. We went in for a chocolate chip frappe, and what they gave us did not disappoint. It was delicious. And of course we had to grab one of those red velvet cakes. 😋

perfect place to just relax or simply study. sat here for about 3 hours without any issues. the place was full of life and so welcoming. the staff was kind. got myself a darjeeling iced tea, which was okay and not too bad. darjeeling tea is always best when it’s hot so it’s on me for ordering it iced. also got a red velvet cake and it was so good! i usually skip the icing but theirs didn’t feel too thick. if you’re looking for a nice crowd then this is the place to be!

Pretty terrible place compared to the myriad of coffee shops in the area. The wait is super long, and there isn't space to hold the line so it's cramped and awkward to stand around in. Good luck figuring out what you want because they love to be hipster about the name of their drinks, and when you ask for clarification they treat you like you should just know what their stuff is called. The service is terrible, and if they make a mistake on your order - they make YOU fix it. By sending you the missing item and making you put it on yourself. I'm shocked they are still in business - it's not worth the price. And dont even get me started on parking...Go to yellow hammer or PJs, or that unnamed place by Buffalo Wild wings. Any of those is infinitely better.

Nothing goes better with a cup of coffee than a pretentious, condescending barista. Lord knows I love to start my day with someone talking to me like I’m stupid and arguing with me on whether a “cold brew latte” exist(it does). If you’re gonna be a nerd about something, at the very least be correct. Not only is your customer service whack but you make your entire business look like they don’t know what they are doing. Not planning on going back here anytime soon

I come here every time I come into town. I have been coming here since I was 17 years old or 16 I can't remember exactly. I was one of the original porch rats as we were called as we hung out on the porch smoking cigarettes and drinking massive amounts of caffeine; playing guitar and singing.I will tell you that my favorite drink as a teenager was the mocha latte. I was surprised when I got to California after I joined the Navy, to be told that there is no such thing as a mocha latte, one can either have a mocha or a latte but never the twain shall meet. After traveling to several countries and many states in the United States, I have found that this Cafe is the only one in my world that serves a mocha latte on its menu. They are delicious. As a teenager my company made the signs for this building and they're still there. I was friends and family friends with the original owners Van and his wife.I was delighted to see that this facility survived the Pandemic's worst effects. In talking to the staff I learned that they maintained some of the same crew throughout the shutdown.Lots of beautiful young people from the local colleges come here as well as older retired individuals who congregate in the sofas and discuss current events and their families.Seize the Day, Carpe!~Zack BoswellFeatures: It can be close quarters. But everybody respects to healthy distance from each other. All horizontal services we're pristine

I was looking to stock up on Blueberries & Cream beans to get me through the winter and they were out. Alan the owner/roaster saw me looking at the selection and asked what I wanted. He made me three pounds of them on the spot!! Also I would sell my grandmother for their scone recipe (and she would understand).

A quaint and homey coffee shop with limited on site parking. There are options for other off site parking nearby. The coffee is outstanding with a wide variety of options. Some good pastries available as well. Plenty of merchandise to purchase in addition to your coffee. Directly across the street from the main Spring Hill college entrance

Love this place, bought the tshirt and had so many drinks and treats here over the years. This is a well loved and well run coffee house and a staple of Mobile. Comfy seating, outlets, quiet areas with tables. This place is great for curling up with a good book on a rainy day, bringing the laptop and hunkering down to write a research paper or just meeting with friends on the porch. Kudos, Carpe!

This visit was disappointing and the biggest issue was the service. The two young people behind the counter were more focused on one another and less on the customers. The wait time is way too long.

The place is super cute! I’ve been a few times and the baristas are always cold. I have never been greeted with a smile and when my order comes through it it is just slammed on the table without even looking at me. They use watery oat milk so I can’t get my usual order. And my usual iced mocha is never stirred and there is always gritty chocolate powder at the bottom. The prices are good though! The cold brew is also watery.

Great mud pie, nice coffee. Unfortunately, after asking for more mud pie to take out, was given pecan pie. Didn’t notice until got back to accommodation. Allergic to nuts!Otherwise would have been 5 stars.

I just got coffee here, on the recommendation of a friend. It was after a convention at the Mitchell Center. I walked through a monsoon to get inside and drip-dried with a really good cup of coffee. What an amazing vibe. Cozy, eclectic, funky and sophisticated. I could've stayed for hours but had to head out. But I did save it on my phone for next time . . . Worth the side trip and getting soaked in the rain.

Great place to stop in. We were on our way to a cruise and wanted to stop for breakfast before we go. Great experience and kind staff. Real family/hometown feel!

I absolutely love this place! They have be best espresso in town. I personally like to get espresso with a dollop of whipped cream and they have the smoothest best flavored espresso and the best in-house made whipped cream! The staff is friendly the Tiramisu is also the best in town and their breakfast sandwich is to die for. It's also one of my favorite places in town to meet for a catch up with a friend and I've also had a few professional meetings there. It's just a cozy, sweet place to hang out!

Locally owned and operated for almost 3 decades. Their coffee is better than the big nationals and the contribute to the community by participating in charitable giving, neighborhood improvements and has a good food selection for a coffee house. When Covid hot and many businesses temporarily shuttered, the owner gave his perishables to a newer, start up coffee house since Carpe suspended operations. This is the kind of business you need in your community.
