This store is awful and has been for a long time! There’s always boxes in the aisles, so it’s almost impossible to get to the shelves to get what you need. I’ve seen refrigerated food out of date and still in the coolers. They want you to use the self-checkout instead of actually having a person do their job and check you out.The main reason I’m writing this review is because I bought dog food there a couple of days ago and it was NOT GOOD! I made the mistake of going to this store instead of going to Walmart because it was late and my dog needed food that night. I usually get her food from PetSmart because she eats Purina ProPlan, but haven’t had a chance to go in a couple of weeks. I ended up getting Purina One, which is a good brand, and what I usually buy for her from Walmart when I can’t get to PetSmart. Huge mistake!!! I got home and opened the bag and poured it in the container, and most of it crumbled! Parts of it were stuck together, and the rest felt mushy and broke apart when I picked it up. It’s not supposed to look or feel like that! I checked the expiration date, and it was supposed to be good until next March! I closed the container and fed her something else that night. I opened it this morning and some of the pieces moved like there was something living in it! It will definitely be thrown out when I get back home today because my dog IS NOT eating it! I’ll drive to Walmart or PetSmart before I make that mistake again!

The store closes at 10pm right? Why were they closed 11/15/2023 at 8PM???? I pulled up & the lights & everything were still brightly lit like they were open but there were no cars in the parking lot.

This store really needs a change in management or shut the doors. Dana Davis is the worst unprofessional manager ever. Please provide her with some training about being professional with employees and customers.

The Dollar General Store in Marion is not what it's cracked up to be. There 3 employees working, 2 sitting down on brake, with one being the manager. The one that's running the register is also stock. There is 4 people in self check out. One is a elderly gentleman that has no clue how to us self check out. The other customers are trying to help him. People are ask can someone please open the other register,. Self check out is not working. Thankfully the girl that is Stocking hears us and come to help. There are unopen boxes in aisls way you can not get down with your carts. this is a mess.

This store needs a new Manager! The isle were full of carts loaded with boxes and the shelves were completely EMPTY. I found NOTHING that I wanted nor NEEDED - New Management is seriously needed here to help the pleasant but obviously embarrased employees. Stay Away for now, I'll update this location after the first of 2021.

I needed an item for the night and I hurry to get there ten minutes before closing. I go to the door and it’s locked. Nowhere else in town to go. Ten minutes is plenty of time for me to go in and get what I need and get out. The sign on the door said 10 and Google says 10. Absurd.I don’t like posting bad reviews of places in Marion because I’m here to build it up, not tear it down. But I’ve had consistently bad experiences at this DG and tonight was icing on the cake. We can’t move Marion forward with businesses being ran like this one.

Honestly I must say Dollar General just ain't what it used to be! When they first came out it was super low prices and fast service! Lately since they have moved into almost everybody's little home town. They raised prices bcuz they know your used to buying their instead of driving to the nearest Walmart! Ill give you 1 example at first movies at DG, were 4.99$ I think about 7.99 was the highest I ever saw now go look youll see 20$ movies! The service well they can't blame that on covid bcuz ive been at many DG,s where the line was ten or more people deep with 1 register only open!! The kicker is bcuz of where their office is in their stores, we can hear the other employees talking in there. Do they come out and help or open another register? Nope! I DG figures if they force us to stay in line for ever either we or our kids will buy more things!! They just don't get the hint it may work 1,or2 times but what works better is we just shop somewhere that appreciates customers enough to speedily ring up our purchase so we can leave instead of sitting in line for 30,mins

It’s across the street from where it says on the map. Another thing is that they don’t appreciate me bringing my pet aardvark inside. They complain saying “no animals allowed” and that “it leaves a mess” but I insist every time that he considers himself human and does not like to be called by a stereotypical breed. He loves the store for their clothes section as he eats bits off everything. One time they called the police on me so I grabbed my flashlight and shined it on the floor to distract them and bolted to the door. Carl (my pet) had the truck running so I hopped in and he drove off. We are still on the run right now. He told me that he’s gonna find a place for us to shop in peace without being hassled.
