My Petco experiences at this location have always been exceptional. I have decided to review this Petco location at this time because of one employee/manager that went out of her way to help me with my aquatic venture with an African Dwarf Frog with fish in a 5.5 gallon aquarium. Kasey is such a jewel to this Petco location. She was able to help me with all of my aquatic questions and concerns. She was right about everything that I had concerns about and gave me the best suggestions for acquiring new items for my aquatic friends. She made my Petco experience memorable. In fact, she is the reason why I have visited this location several times this week. :) The other employees at this location were nice as well. This location is one of the best in Madison for all of your pet care needs. The first photo shows her explaining to me how to feed the frog frozen bloodworms. This was so helpful! 5 stars!

Had an online order of 3 items. One was clearly broke in the package. I returned 2 weeks later for a tank decoration that began falling into pieces the next week. The store is clean, and the staff is nice. great looking items, I'm just disappointed in the quality of the items. These items were for fish if that matters. Maybe the other sections are different.

Walked in for a first-time nail trim at Petco this afternoon, and Tareika was so welcoming and sweet with our dogs (even though I have one who nervous peed everywhere and another who freaked and jumped off the table ). She was awesome. We will definitely be returning for nail trims, at least, maybe grooms in the future too 👍

This the 2nd time I came here for grooming ... 1st time was difficult , but today there was a short white lady with short hair that was just rude . If you don't want more than 1 person in the lobby at a time you should put signs up . I simply wanted my dog groomed but got rushed out the door to wait outside till lobby was clear and couldn't even ask a question . That's really great customer service 👏 .

Nice big store. Decided to visit and see what all Petco had since Athens only has a small Pet Depot. I come out spending $100+ on an amazing white opal male betta fish, who I named Kumo (Cloud in Japanese), a 1.3 gallon fish aquarium, bag of betta fish beads, betta food and treats and a dog id tag for my chihuahua at the registers.* bought a fish tank since they were on sale. I wish I had went ahead and got the tank kit even not on sale it would have been cheaper but I didn't realize it til after the fact. I would have spent around the same amoj.t for the whole set up and had a hood & light & filter included. Hindsight 20/20. Nice store.

Saturday I took my little poodle for grooming there. The staff were so charming. U see I thought I made my grooming appointment on university dr. they wouldn't come to the door.so I called the number I used the night before when I got back to my car. Of couse it was for madison petco . Now these young lady's in the grooming dept were so gracious and helpful. When I got there 15 minutes late. They took cocoa and started right away. To my amazement they were finished in 1 1/2 hours. Pretty as can be. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I was bamboozled , I feel, into a vital care membership. The employee there entered allOf my information and actually accepted all terms and conditions while trying to sell me this service. I wasn’t feeling well and so I just wanted to purchase my item and go home. I’ve tried to cancel the membership because It’s just not beneficial to me as It will cost me more to pay the fee than I will be spending in the store. I was informed that my plan is for 1 year and those fees will be deducted until the end of the contract. She was very rushed in her explanation and no offense but her language was very broken and difficult to understand. I do realize that I am stuck with this, but for anyone else, please take your time and read over everything no matter how rushed you may feel. Truthfully this isn’t anything against Petco persay, but don’t allow your employees to do this just to upsale something. I spelled my nameMultiple times and she still entered it incorrectly ( it’s not Bribgeforth)

I have been to several local places and they by far did a superior job with cutting my dogs. They did an outstanding job and I know my dogs aren't easy. Thank you!

Christine is our groomer, she took are 2 Malitpoo when no one else would take them. We had gotten sick and their hair was tangled. When she was done they were handsome and beautiful. Little Man and Sissy Girl.

Every time I visit a Petco, it seems as if the store is undergoing a major restocking. Isles are constantly blocked by pallets of products. It doesn't help that the isles are barely wide enough for two carts to pass each other. Drop in multiple pallets all around the store and it is like shopping in a maze with no clear path to what I am searching for and, if I can actually get to the product(s), there is no clear path out of a section and to the registers. Speaking of the sections, apparently, there is no labeling scheme for the stores to make specific pet sections easier to find. It is all very unorganized and discombobulated.

I came here for a beta fish, and was asking some questions, and Jennifer had a bad attitude. The few questions I had about the beta fish seemed to be the last thing she wanted to do. Not inviting whatsoever, so I ended up not buying any beta fish cause her attitude. One star for the nasty attitude and the big deep breaths she gave out after I asked her a question. Let’s work on that customer service Jennifer!

I shop here for my turtle Rafael, the staff is friendly hands down best pet shop in Huntsville Madison area and I use my rewards with them also. Also love the variety of fish

Every time I go into this Petco I find at least one or more dead betta fish. I go in at least every weekend. Petco needs to do better. If you don’t have the resources to properly take care of them, then don’t sell them!! Or at least educate on proper care for these fish. I will continue to write bad reviews every time I go in and find dead bettas.

Petco and their grooming staff are not good honest people. This is our second bad experience with them and they seem to not care about certain customers. Today, we had an appointment for our two goldendoodles puppies to get groomed. Our appointment was at 8a. We arrived at 7:55. The store was still a little dark so instead of getting the puppies and our kids out of the vehicle to walk to the door, my husband walked up by himself to check to see if they were open. The doors did not open and they had the hours of operation from 9a to close. So I thought to myself maybe I put the wrong time down and it was at 9a. We drove home and came back to the store at 9a. Automatic doors opened and we went to the grooming department. A young lady advised us that the groomer left after we pulled off. What?! We told them that we were here at 8a but the doors did not open. She advise us the we had to pry the automatic doors open and come on in. Now we are disgusted and upset. We spoke with the manager and he was basically a yes man. We explained to him that there is nothing on the door telling us to pry open the automatic door during non-operating hours for the salon. We were not told this information. Did they expect my husband (a black man) to basically break into the store? All it would have taken was someone to call the police and my husband could have been in jail or dead. Why? Because there was no information telling people to pry open the automatic doors before the store open hours. Besides, the groomer saw my husband come up to the door and leave. Yet she did not call us to say, " Hey, I just saw you all leave. We are open." She either didn't want to work or she didn't want to serve us. I say that because this is our second incident where grooming has not served us and I am starting to think its because of the color of our skin.

This is a great place to get your Fur babies groomed. They are professional and friendly. Of course while you are there you can also pick up anything else your pet needs. You can usually find a discount coupon online. Something amazing happened a couple years ago. My teenage daughter became deathly ill and was in a ventilator for 2 weeks. I was afraid about bringing her home because our dogs were shedding so bad. Because of the situation we didn't have the money to from them. Not only did Petco Groom them for free but they gave a get well card to my daughter with a give card to get them groomed a second time! I will be forever grateful for their kindness and compassion!

I've heard so many bad things about these places from people all over and I just had to go see for myself. Petco when is it going to stop? I paid for a yellow tang and rescued him honestly no one in their right mind would have purchased this fish but he is still breathing and I still see hope.

We were looking for XL dog boots for a Great Dane. We found L, the cashier was nice enough to check with another store and they had them in stock! Very nice cashier, went out of his way to help us!

I would avoid buying live crickets here. After 12 hours, All of mine died and when I called, they said there is no promise they will live. Have been buying from other stores and will not be back (for crickets)

Being a pet store and knowing what we know about Beta care, it's high time that Petco start following suit with other pet stores that keep their Betas in tanks. Betas deserve the opportunity to survive and thrive while awaiting their new homes. It's 2023, we can do better.

One bad egg has to ruin it for everyone. This Petco has a “Karen” dictating “what she feels comfortable selling you”, her exact words. It’s amazing how a pet store employee thinks she can control what others do. This isn’t the only pet store in town and I won’t give this place anymore of my business. Avoid this store like the plague unless you want a 20 something year old Karen telling you how the world isn’t fair.
