Reasonable prices for the most park. I have donated alot to them and it's nice to see my items being sold for a great cause. If you can, they are always looking for volunteers. Staff is amazing too !

Decent deals, but the store is always a hot mess. The checkout line is always long because the employee gets distracted easily and takes her sweet time (everybody else's, too.) She also forgets to ring up items and put them into your bag, so do watch out for that. Also, they never have any newspaper to wrap glassware. They use their personalized plastic bags which is really annoying.

It is ridiculous. They don’t have a mirror inside the fitting rooms making it difficult for you to see how it fits to you. There is a lady who works there and is extremely rude with costumers her name is Charlene. Just today three people around me make the same comment about her. This two things make you think twice before coming here.

I found this cool shirt hanging on a rack of clothes. I went to checkout and we both found out it didn’t have a tag on it and they told me they couldn’t sell it to me even though I told them I’d pay whatever for it. They said to come back in a few days and maybe it’ll be back on the rack. They wouldn’t let me leave my number for it or anything. Sad.

5 customers in line. No cashier in sight. **rings bellMale employee emerges from the LADIES restroom only to greet customers with a non-smile and unprofessional manner. We tried to kindly interact, but he refused us the courtesy of a pleasant interaction. He refused to wrap our breakables and put them all together in a bag. This employee should not work in customer service.5 stars for cleanliness and a well organized store.Zero stars for cashier experience.2.5 stars

One of my favorite thrift stores in the area! Very clean and organized. Always amazed at the quality of the adult clothing they have.

The Downtown Rescue Mission of Madison is a well organized thrift store with plenty of items to choose from, I had a good experience shopping there and I’m sure I’ll be back to shop again next time I’m in Madison.

Everyone that works at this establishment acts if they're incompetent and in return provides rude customer service for their lack thereof and inadequacy. It never ceases to amaze me that sometimes people who choose to work where they work, by choice, take it out on those who have nothing to do with the choice that person made. I sat on Saturday waiting from 10 am until 2pm, without a phone call to inform me that pickup was changed from 11am to 3pm. I then called back at 2pm to find out the ETA of the driver and the answer I received was they don't have the phone number of the individual that is supposed to deliver their pickups to the store (smh). In addition, I called a 2nd time to inform the manage that it was 2pm and we hadn't seen or heard from anyone and as a result I was left on hold and then hung up on. I called the store back after I was hung up on, twice to see what happened and the call was not answered. I'm giving away a very nice sofa set in great condition and this establishment couldn't care less. It's 2:22 pm and the furniture still hasn't been picked up. Never again.

Amazing Thrift Store with amazing prices..... I frequent this store monthly and find great deals. Have furnished many rooms in my house from this store. The staff her is amazing nice quality clothes for Men Women and kids. The teen section is not great but we all know teens are extremely picky. I have even found great gently used athletic gear here for a reasonable price as well as dance attire. It is simply something for the entire family here.

Well, I had about given up on thrift stores. Seems like they usually smell funky, are really cluttered, etc. NOT this one. It is bright, clean, nice people working there. They have 2 dressing rooms, fairly priced, and everything is pretty much organized. They had some new, in plastic mattresses and some new furniture. I will go back.

Great store. Friendly associates, well organized clothing. The other areas are a mess, but that’s all thrift stores. Wouldn’t hate having a mirror in the changing room!

saw another review comment on the prices being a little above other thrift stores. We've been thrifting a lot lately and this is one of the cheapest thrift stores we've found so far so I'm not sure what thrift stores she had been to. The first time we went we didn't really find anything that stood out to us but we've been back 2 more times since and It's gotten better each time. Several good clothing items for great deals and shoes too. We love the auctions they offer at all the DRM locations. You can get some really good deals on higher value items. We recently picked up a solid wood round coffee table with 6 drawers and 3 shelfs under it for $20. We were mind blown it was listed for so little. We like to go during their 50% off deals once or twice a month but this coffee table was listed as $20 on a full price day. We couldn't help ourselves with that deal. They have a ton of donations outside that they are going through and the back is full of donations. They are always putting new stuff out. They'v got great deals on furniture and kitchen items. Great experience and the staff has always been really nice.

"Regrettably, my experience seems to be part of a larger pattern of intolerant, inconsiderate, and borderline abusive behavior toward customers, as echoed by numerous accounts. This behavior is reprehensible and must be addressed promptly..."Yesterday, in the midst of packing for my impending work trip to California, I realized I lacked a crucial black pair of shoes required for a production character. The frantic search took me to eight different stores, causing me to rush through packing and catch my flight. At last, I found a suitable pair at this thrift store.Yet, my ordeal didn't end there. An employee at the thrift store, seemingly attuned to my stress, made it her mission to worsen my day. Upon completing a transaction with the customer ahead of me, she scorned me for placing the shoes on the wrong side of the counter. Following this chastisement, she maliciously ignored my presence and embarked on a painstakingly slow restocking of shopping bags, more sluggish than the pace of a snail's crawl. A persistent smirk adorned her face throughout this ordeal. In an attempt to defuse the situation, I politely informed the woman that I didn't require a bag, but she responded with another taunting smirk, stubbornly refusing to acknowledge me. Her calculated efforts to deliberately delay her bag-stocking only added to my distress. Needless to say, I left without purchasing said shoes. As a neurodivergent individual, this traumatic experience pushed me to an alarmingly unhealthy mental state, necessitating both medication and intervention to regain my emotional equilibrium. I am firmly convinced that the employee who subjected me to this torment that afternoon must face a thorough reevaluation and, potentially, termination due to her egregiously rude and provocative behavior. Such conduct, especially toward individuals grappling with illnesses, constitutes a form of abuse that cannot be tolerated.Regrettably, my experience seems to be part of a larger pattern of intolerant, inconsiderate, and borderline abusive behavior toward customers, as echoed by numerous accounts. This behavior is reprehensible and must be addressed promptly.

I think I frequent this thrift store the most out of all the thrift shops in the area. The selection of items is always great and the store is in a good area. The staff is also always kind. My only gripe with this shop is I've been shopping here for 10+ years and I've noticed a significant raise in their prices. I'd hate to see this store end up like Goodwill, but from my understanding, Downtown Rescue Mission donates a significant amount of their profits to help the local homeless population so I don't always mind paying a little more for the things I buy. Other than that, I recommend this shop to anyone and I already know I will continue to shop here for years to come.

Her name was Cheyenne. She was rude. When we walked in, she was snotty, and followed us the entire time. We felt uncomfortable, so we left. She should NOT be working in retail. Will not be back.

Shocked by the rude behaviour of the girl at the counter. I was there yesterday ( Feb 7, 2023, afternoon). I am not sure what provoked her ( I was at the store for 15-20 minutes, went around, picked up a few things, did not have any interactions with anyone, went to the counter, so I cannot think of what it was in my behaviour that could have prompted her). Maybe she was having a bad day and she thought I was the appropriate person to hiss at, but such unexpected disrespectful and harsh behaviour ruined my day as well.

Always great sales and half off days!!! The staff is kind as well. They have a dressing room too! More clothes and shoes than housewares items but not a bad selection.

Updating my previous one star review from a few years ago as they have improved themselves quite a bit since then. Now more of an average thrift store, but you can find deals and they do have a variety tag sales and sale days. Large stores, organized goods and an ever pleasant staff. Worth a stop most any time.

Great deals on women's clothing & toys! I found 9 clothing pieces I love, for only $2 each!I do wish there were more than 2 dressing rooms, but it was just a busy afternoon & several of us had lots of items to try on.

Great thrift store! Very clean and well organized with actual thrift store prices. For example, most books are under $2 and kids books are $.25. Good selection typically, though it varies greatly from day to day, week to week. Staff was friendly and service was good. All for a good cause too!

Me and another customer waited at the counter to purchase items and the two ladies who worked there, eventhough they were no more than 10 feet away, preceeded to take clothes from the basket and place on hangers. It appears as though they were ignoring us, so I and the other customer put the items back and left.

I go here all the time. I’ve found brand new Anne Klein and Chico’s clothes - some with the tags on them! Staff is friendly and furniture is outrageously cheap for shabby chic. You gotta dig but it’s worth it.

I love visiting this place especially on days they run special sales and most of the staff that I have met are professional. Some pricing is too high for thrift store products (in my opinion), however I continue to shop there because I know it's for a good cause in our community and I just enjoy my shopping visits with them. I stay for hours! Lol!

Oh my stars the prices are outrageous. All the things I wanted were close to $10!!! I will not return nor will I advise anyone to shop here. Greed is ramped with thrift stores and this store is no exception. The thrift store model that sales items lower make more money than thrifts that sell higher. Management should look into that. With these locations being no profit they would have WAY more donations and customer if they stopped brand watching to price gouge people who come to cloth their family's that cant afford to even shop clothing at Wal-Mart!

The staff is always helpful and friendly. Today I was there with my 84 year old mother. The gentleman working went out of his way to help her with a new boxspring/mattress, bed frame and headboard. Thanks so much for all their help and support!

I seldom leave here without two bags full of stuff. The clothing is clean and neat. The housewares are organized. It's like going to a retail store with yard sale prices. The only draw back is that they seem to look down on the stuff that people drop off for donations. One lady was outside barking orders at people dropping items off saying what she wanted and didn't want. Hmmmm.

Great charity to donate to. They do a lot to help people down on their luck. Also, great store to shop at, by purchasing used instead of new, you do your part to recycle, and to save the Earth!
