Unfortunately it seems they are having trouble right now. Stock not out, more stock showing up. Cashiers are slow and/or spaced out so you can't get any conversation. The self checkout was broken so no luck there either.

It's a dollar general of course. They're one of the easiest stores to get in and out of when it comes to grabbing a few household needs, or just a little bit of wanted items. And they have a large selection of items for just $1 each. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the clearance sales they have pretty regularly! Honestly, one of my favorite stores. Only problem I seem to have is the line for checkout. They get backed up, and although they have plenty of employees to open another register and help get customers checked out faster, they don't 😣 Only reason that I can logically think of is so they won't have to count 2 drawers at shift change..

EDIT: I wish I could say the remodel was a positive thing. I’ve been in multiple times since the changes, the self checkout is filthy, I’ve had to move stock off of the checkout just to be able to use it. Fully half of the aisles are clogged with carts full of boxed merchandise and the shelves are nearly empty. I’m checking myself out, and they STILL can’t stock the shelves? The product isn’t even safely stored off of the floor. Someone is liable to get injured. I’d go back to the old, better-managed store in a heartbeat if I could. Shame too, I was so excited to see it grow.

Hands down best DG I've been to in Walker County. They have their act together here!! Well stocked, employees that will help you and boxes aren't stacked up all over the aisles full of freight that should be on the shelves.

Love having Dollar General in our little community of Boldo. We know these employees personally. They're always friendly & helpful. A smile when working with the public is always a nice thing. I was a nurse for years. We were taught to drop our problems at the curb, put a smile on our face & care for our patients :-) We appreciate the store manager & staff at our local Dollar General :-) God bless them!

I had a most pleasant experience. Store was clean and straight. You don't see many Dollar General like that. Help friendly, their masks on as required. Management team all 👍

You can get in and out,if needed but also the layout of store is open,so it's very easy to browse the aisles and make your way throughout the store,but also experience very high customer service and helpful employee's...

Staff is not friendly, even if there is no one else in the store you might have to wait a few minutes to be checked out and then, if you get the older gentleman or the younger man, their manner infers that it is a burden on them to check you out. It is on the way of my transit or I would never stop here, sometimes I detour out if the way to shop somewhere else.

The one on 69 hwy headed to Cullman is one of my favorite Dollar General cause a few other store in Jasper is horrible as in time u spend at the register due to SLOW cashiers or cashiers that HOLD too long of a conversation when one register is open a 10 ppl in line. And the stores are ALWAYS congested with items in the isle blocking u from passing...smh!

If you've ever been to a dollar store before, you'll know exactly what to expect. It isn't fancy and it isn't supposed to be. It's kept well-stocked and the staff is generally friendly.

Well I got to Dollar General more than Wal-Mart . I go to the dollar general sipey store 12660 they are the rudest people I've ever seen ... The manager ( christy) she don't need to be a manager . Every time I go in the she is a smart mouth and short with me .. You know she problely forgets if it wasn't for people like me she wouldn't have a job..

The Dollar General on 69 Highway is always on point. They are the nicest people ever to work at a Dollar General... Always helpful, and very sweet. Nicest people EVER!!!

The Assistant Managers and Store Manager are rude and very unfriendly. I live by this one and Drive to Airport Road. Now said that they just promoted a young lady that is very friendly. So who knows maybe they replace all of them. Don't like the retail business do something else not for everyone!!!!
