Just moved to the area & stopped in to grab some essential items that were still on the moving truck. It was 7:30 pm on 12/5/23. This location closes at 10:00 pm.I needed to use the restroom but the doors are locked. I went to the front, with my basket full of items that I planned to leave on the side of the counter and asked the cashier for the access code to the restroom. Without looking up she said "they're in the back". I said yes, but they are locked and I needed the code. She said "We lock them at a certain time".It goes without saying that I won't be doing business with Walgreens. It may seem minor but to have an employee be so unnecessarily rude to someone, a customer just trying to buy some soap, toothpaste, etc. is so unnecessary and unprofessional. I can only imagine how I would be treated trying to fill prescriptions. There are too many other options for pharmacy care out there to accept this.

Had a great shopping experience at Montclair Walgreens today. I was dropping off a package for Fed Ex and was immediately greeted by a young man, Jacob H. He was so friendly and helpful! Also did a bit of shopping and when he couldn’t ring up my wine due to his age, he swiftly got an older associate or supervisor to do that for him. Go get great customer service from Jacob! He’s saving up to buy his first car

Horrible trashy employees. Poor representation of the store. The Manger on duty doesn't care and let's her employees curse people out.

Undoubtedly the rudest pharmacy staff I have ever experienced. It is no wonder that they close early and because they can’t find people to work there. Everyone must be incredibly miserable, and it is reflected in how they treat customers. I can only guess that the manager is desperate for workers. Moving my account to the Clairmont location.

Have had a plethora of issues with this location in the past but have stuck with them due to how close they are for convenience. After waiting 50 minutes in the drive-thru pharmacy line to only move up 4 cars and still have 2 cars in front of me that would probably take an additional 20 minutes of my time, I'm going to be switching pharmacies to further avoid dealing with this embarrassment of a Walgreens.

Multiple times this pharmacy has stated I didn’t have refills of my meds. So, I’ve called my dr and they state I have 2-3 refills and it takes days for the pharmacy to fix this problem. The wait times are also ridiculous. I was in line for an hour last night before I gave up and left. That entire time the drive thru line didn’t budge. Will be changing pharmacies!!

A prescription was called in on a Friday, I went in on Saturday afternoon to pick it up, it still wasn’t ready, then I was told it would be 61 dollars after there discount and that insurance wouldn’t cover it, this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks they told me insurance would cover 4 other medications. It took me a week to have my doctor call it in to Winn Dixi pharmacy, I went in it was ready, no problem with insurance and I paid zero dollars to have it filled. This is 2 weeks delay in care with a lung infection from not getting the prescriptions because they said insurance wouldn’t cover it, but it wasn’t a problem at a different pharmacy. The attitude there is terrible, everyone there is miserable, no one greets you, know ones every smiles, and they won’t even file it on your insurance and are lying to customers about it. I’ve been going there over 10 plus years and this is the worst it has been, all my meds are now going to another pharmacy. I don’t know if it’s one Negative person that’s dragging everyone down or it’s the company treating the employees terrible by not providing enough employees to work in this busy pharmacy but, they definitely are loosing customers and delaying there care which is critical for some people.

There is a traveling pharmacist that works here from time to time, and unfortunately out of the past 2 times I’ve come here I had to encounter her. I’m not quite sure what her name is, but I believe it is Holly and she has thin long brown hair and about 5’11”. I’m aware of Walgreens “policies” - should truly called fabricated policies. I’m prescribed adderall for my narcolepsy - a neurological disorder that greatly effects my sleep and daily function in life. My first encounter with this lady she refused to refill my prescription because *HER* policy is 2-days prior. And she clearly needs to be educated on the fact that *HER* policy is false seeing as it is a 4-days prior to the last date filled that I can get it. All other pharmacists that have worked here or at other locations have all said the same thing as well as my insurance. My second encounter happened this afternoon when I went to go get my prescription filled early since I’m leaving for out of the country this week. Obviously I can’t get my medicine overseas (you’d think she’d use her brain to realize that). Before even calling my doctor, I spoke with my insurance and was cleared for my early refill. I then called my doctor and explained what was happening and I got the approval and picked up my prescription. After this, I came to this pharmacy and was waiting on it while it got filled. Well over 30 minutes had passed and luckily one of the employees that knows us asked us if we were still waiting. Turns out that they felt that it was too early to refill my prescription and trying to make me feel dumb for even trying. Well, obviously I’m filling it early for a reason! They let me sit there for over 30 minutes clearly trying to avoid telling me this, but I didn’t let this affect me. Now what did affect me was this “pharmacist” trying to tell me that they need to speak with my doctor to make sure it was approved. Adderall is a controlled substance and that means a physical prescription - no call ins, no automatic refills. I’m not quite sure if this lady has poor education or just zero common sense, but obviously I had a physical prescription that I had given to them. That is literally your proof that it was approved by my doctor. So, since SHE FELT that she needed verbal approval, they didn’t fill my prescription. All while saying this to me with a distinct condescending tone.Walgreens apparently feels that their pharmacists should be allowed to police people. And that is far from being okay. I do not appreciate feeling judged and/or discriminated against due to the medication that I take and the countless other stories I have found about other Walgreens pharmacies. She has delayed me TWICE in my medication that is vital to me to function daily and normally. I can’t imagine how many others she has done this to as well, but it is NOT okay. It is in fact disgusting that she is allowed to still be a pharmacist for Walgreens let alone a pharmacist at all.

I went to the Walgreens on the corner of Oporto--Madrid and Montavallo Road to inquire about Covid testing a couple of days ago. When I approached the area that was well described [by "Covid" testing signage] as being the appropriate "lane" for any issues related to Covid testing, I asked, in a pleasant tone, if the person who asked me if she could help me, would please pull her surgical mask up. She then had to answer a phone call, which she then focused on, the entire time essentially unmasked, i.e., mask covering mouth, but definitely not covering her nose. She was approximately 4-5' away from me. The plexiglass screen was placed ina manner which did not provide much of any dividing, protective "screen" for either staff member or customer / consumer. That call took several minutes. During those minutes, I took a look and noted, as pharmacy staff walked around focusing on their work, that four of the five staff in the pharmacy area had their surgical masks below their nose.I asked someone at a front-store check-out area if she could assist me with discussing my experience with her store manager. The store manager, in a very professional manner, walked to the pharmacy area with me, per my request. It seems that, per the store manager, the Walgreens policy regarding Covid and masking, changed last week so as most recently to require wearing a face mask. Previously, the policy, apparently to me, had been no mask required for employees who had been vaccinated.Even as the store manager had her discussion with the employee with whom I had had my initial interaction, that employee failed to keep her mask covering her nose. [Just a reminder: Covid is a virus that is transmitted via the respiratory system; thus, the point of wearing a mask--any face mask--correctly, such that it covers one's NOSE.]Even the pharmacist allowed her own mask to dangle such that it covered neither her nose or mouth at the times I observed, i.e., MOST of the time that I was there. My question here is this: Would you feel comfortable going to ANY place for Covid testing where the vast majority of employees does not wear face masks appropriately?

Associates were helpful and courteous. The store was clean, spacious and well lite! Very organized and hold a variety of name brand and generic items, products and gadgets. Has a photo section for passports and photo development and a full functional pharmacy. I like coming to this store.

In the past, there were certainly issues with the pharmacy. Since Eric the pharmacist is there, it is a completely different story. I have a complex set of meds, which he took on with understanding, empathy, and a professionalism that gained my trust. He goes to bat for you, with insurance companies and doctors. He has an integrity and kindness that shows every time I speak to him. Also, the previous problems with the answering message have been resolved.

The WORST Walgreens experience I've ever had! I confirmed they had a medication in stock that I had a prescription for so my husband brought it to that location to be filled. A week later, they haven't done anything to help my prescription get filled. There was an insurance issue. Each person I spoke with at the Walgreens had a different reason as to the problem. So I called the insurance company and they informed me add to the real issue. They told me the pharmacy should have been told exactly what the problem was. I called the insurance company and Dr office again today to get this figured out. The prescription I'm needing filled is a controlled medicine that has strict times I can get it filled. By now, I'm out of medicine! So the insurance company told me everything was cleared as of yesterday and it'll go thru when it is run thru insurance. I called this Walgreens immediately after and they said it did go thru and would take an hour and a half to be filled. So I told my husband and he asked if I would get a text when it's ready. I usually do, so he ran other errands after getting off work until I got the text. No text after 90 minutes so I called Walgreens back. Guess what?! They didn't even have the prescription in stock!!!!!! Ummm the lady who ran it an hour and a half ago didn't make sure it was in stock before telling me they would be getting it ready?! They've had my prescription for at least a week. Why didn't they reorder to make sure mine could be filled too? No one at this pharmacy has a clue!! Since my prescription was dropped off, I haven't been comfortable with what I've been told or what I've heard and now this.. I've been on monthly narcotic meds for over 10 years so I've dealt with several pharmacies. This has been the worst experience hands down! I never got my medicine! These people don't have a clue! In the past, when there's been issues, a good pharmacy usually will rerun the prescription at least once a day. Insurance told me they hadn't run it in the past 5 days! Stay away!! This Walgreens pharmacy is a mess!! And that's being too nice! They never apologized for anything, never offered to contact another Walgreens to see if they had some in stock. Nothing! No help at all. Just said we could get the prescription and try somewhere else! Zero customer service!!

Can you give less than one star..? After two rounds of refills and never having less than 30 min to pick up drugs they texted we’re ready, I switched to Publix since BCBS recognizes them. This Walgreens is absolutely the slowest and rudest pharmacy at this location. I left for CVS years ago and had to come back because of CVS/BCBS. Thought it would be better now. It’s not. Guess I’ll move my prescriptions again.

Good and I love that they always honor my good RX coupons for my medicines! A lot of pharmacies won't because I assume they lose to much money being that I would be paying cash for my medicine and not using insurance!

Whatever you do, don't try to refill your prescription over the phone. The pos automated system is physically incapable of doing so if you're typing in the RX number, and pause for more than 1 second to check the number. If I hear that stupid "I'm sorry, I couldn't understand that" machine voice one more time, I'm gonna scream. Somehow, CVS manages to avoid this problem. If your health insurance allows it, avoid the lousy service thios place provides.

The pharmacy never gets it right. Automated phone refills do not work or staff is not checking the requests. And when they are not filled, the staff is rude and do not listen and are not helpful. Transferring all my business elsewhere. Too many recurring problems.

I waited 40 minutes for my COVID test appointment. I received notification today that my COVID test sample was mishandled and rejected for testing. I do not recommend getting a COVID test done here.

I have been a customer here for years. Today at 12:30, I spoke to the rudest lady I have ever met. When I asked a question about conflicting answers between the pharmacy and my doctors office, she spoke to me like I was stupid. I have reported her to the cooperate office and plan to use a different pharmacy from now on.

This pharmacy is garbage. Workers are lazy. Also, update Google and Walgreens website with the new "temporary" hours of operation for the pharmacy. Store doesn't open until 9 am and closes at 7 pm.

Worst Walgreens pharmacy in town. I've never had a good experience here. There's no reason for me to sit in a long line for Covid testing just to drop off a prescription!

Absolutely the WORST pharmacy in Birmingham. Rude and lazy staff, prescriptions are never ready when told they would be. Plenty of other pharmacies nearby.
