Where do I even start? If I could leave 0 stars I would. I am only writing this because it’s been on me and my husbands mind forever. Back in Dec 2023 we boarded our dog River with the Dog Stop for 10 days (Travel). We had boarded him here a couple of times (he came back sick one of those times) and there was no severe issue so we decided to board him again. This time we came back and he was almost unrecognizable. He had lost a significant amount of weight (10-15lbs) and was extremely skinny. We asked why he looked like this and they said they were feeding him .5 cups A DAY because they thought he had “digestive issues” because he was using the bathroom a lot. This was probably because he was eating their brand of food, but nevertheless you don’t switch a dogs serving from 2 cups a day to .5. Not to mention our dog has bad anxiety so we gave them 3 of his pills for grooming purposes only. They only groomed him once so we should’ve had 2 left right?? No they used all 3 because he is high energy and they didn’t feel like dealing with him. Also, the “trainer” lady there referred to him as a “crackhead” which is out of line. Long story short, DONT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!! Before and after pictures below

The staff here is top notch!!! Becca has been training my husky puppy for several weeks and the results are outstanding!! Alex is great at keeping her groomed and the kennel staff all treat my baby like gold!!! There are some negative reviews on here due to previous management......but I am here to tell you this new team is amazing!!! I highly recommend this facility!!

I cannot express enough how much I love working with the people at The Dog Stop. I’m coming up on a month of Becca training my dog, and I have noticed the biggest difference. He used to be really aggressive and disobedient, but he has done a complete 180.There are some negative reviews, which is why I was hesitant to bring him, but they’re under a completely new management! After the first consultation, I knew that I fully trusted them. Don’t listen to the negative reviews!! I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend The Dog Stop! If you’re looking for training, Becca is the one to go to.

My dog loves going here! He always gets excited when we pull into the parking lot. He’s also been getting some good training done while he is there, which has been such a wonderful experience. Glad I brought my dog here!

October 27 - October 29, My dog Kane stayed here and will most definitely be his last stay here. Because I no longer trust this dog boarding. This was his second time staying here and it was way different from the first stay. When my sister went in to pick him up, his harness was strapped upside down and he rushed to the door. He never did that before. I noticed his behavior during these past couple of days. He didn't play and stay in one room. He also started to shake, especially when someone pets him. I called and talked to an employee and manager who says it's usually for dogs to do that and is high anxiety since they were thrown off the schedule of their regular routine. The manager said he would look back at the cameras and see if no wrong doing happened. I don't know if he ever did, because He said would call me back after viewing. He never did.And i tried to call them, just to have no answer. He never had this behavior when he stayed in other places.When I tried to take him a bath, like many times I reached down to pick him up to put him in, he yelps. it's strange to me. if the manager would have called me back and said nothing happened i would probably have a clear mind and pass it off as anxiety. But it never happened. So this one star will remain for communication and will also remain because I am unsure if anything happened to my boy.

I drop off my dog Molly with the team at Dog stop every work day and she is always so happy to see them! I couldn’t ask for a better group to look after her. They’re always knowledgeable and kind and I know my fur baby is safe when I leave her at The Dog Stop Huntsville.

First off. LETS TALK ABOUT THE AMAZING NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!! Becca and the team are top notch for all your doggie needs. If anyone knows me I am a full on crazy dog momma. That is my fur child and trust very few people with her. She goes to dog day care here and she is starting to come around with making new frinds with not only other dogs but also humans. The staff are well educated in what they do and care for your fur babies like you would. I'm at peace while I work for the day knowing that my girl is in great hands. Thank you to Becca and the entire team that loves my Willow just as much as we do. You all are doing great!

Wow! Becca has worked with my nephdog Boone and my granddog Biggie. She has done wonders with both. Our family is not good at the consistency that comes with training dogs. I am completely over this place and how they lost my dog. My dog Cairo stayed here for the weekend of Christmas and moments before, we were on the way to pick him up we received a phone call around 5:00pm claiming they had an accident! We didn’t think anything big of it at first but come to find out, he has been missing for hours! No communication was taken part when the situation happened until the last minute. There were sightings of him since 3:30pm! Luckily with the help of Facebook and other social platforms, we were able to find him but he was badly bruised and has a laceration on his paw due to a car hitting him. Fortunately, they covered 100% of the vet bill, but it is still heartbreaking that it happened.

The staff at The Dog Stop were very informative and so sweet to my pup. I took my husky mix in to get groomed and try out daycare. The staff took the time to answer all of my questions, allowed me to tour the facility, and kept me informed and up to date while my dog was there. When my dog got home, he was so calm and definitely appeared to have had lots of exercise. I previously had a very bad grooming experience at a different company and was nervous at first. However, the staff at the dog stop listened to all of my concerns and spent time discussing how my dog reacted throughout the grooming process, how they handled it, as well as future recommendations. When I got him, his nails were trimmed to just the right length, he smelled great, and he still appeared to love the staff member that had groomed him. Based on my experience, I trust the staff here to care for my dog.

**I am not changing my review only adding to it.**As of 16 APR 2024The Dog Stop is soon to be under new management and the super staff. They do have a trainer on site now.I wish them the best going forward and will co ti ye to have my mind at ease every time I drop my to fur babies off here they will be safe and secure with this great staff.I have been coming to this location for over two years now and I do highly recommend them.They can get busy at pick up and drop off times yet they do make each and every customer count.Older postI’ve been coming here to the Huntsville location for almost two months and I really like the people since they are very professional and caring for the dogs. And I mean that as not just for mine but also for how they interact with their customers.I live that they are open on Saturday and Sunday too. Helps me get some yard work done AND my dogs can have fun too so it’s a plus for their quality of life.When I pick my gang up they are both happy and pooped out from their day.This is a great staff in my personal opinion and I have had nothing but positive interactions with the staff so far.

If I could give zero stars I would!! I boarded my dog for the weekend and when I picked him up he was nasty and smelled so bad. He smelled like he had been in urine the entire time he was there. I had to take him straight to his groomer to get a bath. I noticed when ever I would look at the camera he was always in the kennel. I don’t believe they ever took him out. I will NEVER use this place again!!

They were very thorough and kind! I walked in to see if I can put my dog in daycare while I was at a convention. They were very helpful and very inexpensive! Im usually wary of giving my dog to someone to watch, but I felt very confident with them and I knew my dog would be safe there. Next time I'm in Huntsville I will definitely be using them again!

Chose not to use. Strong odor when I got there and it seemed dirty. Then I had to wait 10 minutes for a tour, which never happened anywhere else- all other places took my right back. They don’t have outdoor area, but inside covered with open bay doors. I liked that the dogs aren’t kenneled all day for daycare. Ultimately too many red flags for me to choose.

The Dog Stop was great. We normally board with our vet, but they were unable to accommodate our vacation time over this past holiday season. From the moment I first talked to someone at the Dog Stop I knew my dogs would be cared for. They responded quickly to my booking request and were easily assessable while we were out of town. We loved having the cameras available to watch our babies throughout their stay. The employees truly took care of my dogs and treated them as if they were their own. The one employee even went into the kennel and hand feed my dog, because he was too nervous to eat. She was very patient with him, and made sure he was comfortable throughout his stay. Needless to say, I have already booked our dogs with them for our next vacation.

We’ve boarded here twice now (and have another reservation upcoming). Our dog comes home exhausted but in a good way. I love that I can watch him playing all day on the cameras. We like the luxury suite, because I’m an over-protective dog mom and like to make sure he’s getting a good nights sleep. His blanket is laundered before we pick him up which is a nice touch. Definitely recommend.

We’ve loved the service at the Dog Stop. They always take such good care of our dogs. I like being able to check on the with the camera access, eases my mind to know they’re ok. We had all 3 of our dogs there this time and they did great! I love that they get a bath before we pick them up.

We love The Dog Stop! The staff is always friendly. Hector loves to come there and even though he's a big boy and tires from play quickly, he is so happy just to be in the room and watch the other dogs. Even when he's resting, I can see he's wagging his tail. AND I can see because they have cameras which is an amazing feature for nervous dog moms like me.

Update from my post in May 2023: On two seperate occasions now our dogs have contracted pneumonia and/or kennel cough from this location. Most recently (late July 2023) one of the employees texted us to warn us of the most recent outbreak of kennel cough. Buy this time, our one year old pup was starting his second night stay at a Huntsville Emergency VET being treated for pneumonia/kennel cough. First night in an oxygen kennel to assist his breathing. In my response toThe Dogg Stopp employee I made her aware of our pups situation. She did not even bother to appoligize. I realize ultimately it was the fault of a careless dog owner. But I feel any of the employees there should have reconized a cough dog. Additionally, with this being the second time they have gotsick from their stays there, I believe there the cleaning practices may be of question.All the folks that work there all seem to be very nice. But possibly the lack of training or oversight by management has lead to unsafe environment for our pets there.May 2023 post: Great safe place to leave your pups. Absolutely LOVED The Dog Stop, so did my granddog. I was confident she was well cared for while I was at work and I knew she would burn off some energy. I loved the staff, they are so helpful and explain the new dog process. The princess was able to be assessed and play in the same day, they also take walk-ins. I know when she comes back to visit we will be hitting The Dog Stop up if she needs some playtime with friends. Truly the price is economical, I am so glad I was recommended to come here by a co worker.

Kelly. I needed to take a few days to answer you to collect myself. We left a message the day Happy left ans and no one called us back. You sent this message to me only after my vet called you. Happy came in to the vet with a fever of 105.4 totally dehydrated, severe pneumonia and in critical condition. The vet did not think she would make it. She was on IV for 4 days and still couldn't eat. She had pouring out non stop green mucus and can barely lift her head up. She has lost so much weight and is still up to now throwing up mucus and coughing. It cost us a few thousand just to save her. How in the world could you have let her go so far. I only was advised on a Friday that since Monday she had not eaten and is barely drinking and that I am free to get someone to pick her up and bring her to the vet. I trusted you. You came so close to killing my dog. I honestly do not think anyone should come close to your establishment. Your behavior was cruel.

Dog Stop has been a great place to take my very active pup. She can't wait to get there and is pretty tired afterwards. I love being able to see what's going on by pulling up the Webcams and can see her resting or playing. The personnel are personal and know my pup and me and let me know how her day was at pick up. They clearly love the dogs and know their personalities.

I love the dog stop and so does my boy, Kingsley. I know they take great care of him and anytime I ask him if he "wants to go to daycare and see his friends", my dog loses his mind, he is so excited and waiting by the door. LOL. I have pretty big requirements for leaving my dog and this place meets all of them! I love that he gets to go to daycare while being boarded, so he wont be cooped up the entire time. I love that there are cameras in the daycare area so I can check up on him whenever I want. I love that daycare is a walk-in service and you don't have to make an appt. (Cuz sometimes you just don't know if you need to drop them off.) I love that the kennels are large and they aren't squeezed into tiny spaces! I also love having an online portal that saves all of the preferences and information.Getting started with a free eval was super easy. Uploading and submitting vaccine information is easy as well. Anytime i need to board my pup, its so simple and quick to just request my dates in the portal. I can also prepay or put credits on my account.The only thing I would improve on, is the option to request grooming while boarding and putting in your preferences on that. (My account tells me I have to call to reserve grooming.) Not a huge deal anyway. They also ask me when I bring him in if I need any additional services, so they always make sure I am covered. Some of the other add on options are a little confusing, but I dont need them.My boy was boarded this weekend while we went out of town, and this time I requested him to be groomed while he was there. This was my first time using their grooming and I was very happy with it! He was clean, soft and shiny, and they fixed the horrible trim I had given him at home LOL. (He is a great Pyrenees/ Australian Shepard and has long fur that mats very quickly and easily, so I trim his behind, but I sure don't do a good job and my husband tells me I'm banned from doing it again HAHAHA). Anyway, this was his first bath in over a month, due to him having surgery, and he wasn't allowed to take a bath until he was healed. So his fur was a bit unruly and they made him look great. I already booked him an appointment for a deshedding next month. And they make sure to keep the dogs separate from daycare after grooming so they wont get all slobbery again :)Overall, there are so many places to board that are closer to my home, but none of them even come close to what the dog stop offers. So I will gladly drive the 45 mins away so I know my dog is taken care and happy while hes there!

These are some of the most dog loving people I’ve ever met! My dog comes regularly, 2-3 times per week. She loves to play with the other little dogs, and they always provide feedback about her day. I trust them wholeheartedly to take care of my baby as well as I do!
