Have never been treated so rudely by a pharmacy in my life. Matthew in particular was so rude to me repeatedly that I transferred my prescription and will never shop at Star Market again either. They are also using a very outdated system where you have to call for a refill, they say ok we will get it ready today, and then when you arrive to pick up over 24 hours later it’s still not ready and you have to wait.They also seem to think it’s acceptable customer service behavior to yell out your name and prescription names to everyone waiting instead of having some sense that maybe customers don’t want their personal business broadcasted to everyone in the store.

This pharmacy is one of the absolute best in the business! We are trying to conceive and they always have the "tough to get" medication that we need. If they don't have it in stocks, they get it from across the street! Either way, I always get what I need and I sincerely appreciate that!

Lord I don’t see how this lady is still employed at the pharmacy. She’s rude I read the reviews before I went to this pharmacy, but I had just moved here and was trying to get a pharmacy close to my home. After today screw it she literally overlooked me as she assisted three people who came in after me. She always frowned up good gosh and I don’t know why don’t care either she needs to learn CUSTOMER SERVICE.

My husband recently became disabled, so we went from a two income household to a one income. I recently went in to the pharmacy to pick up new meds. My insurance didn't pay as much as I expected, so I could only pick up one. The lady at the front desk rudely asked me well which one do you want. After I told her which one she grabbed up the bag with the rest and loudly announced to one if the pharmacist as she shoved the bag at him and said "here take these she doesn't want them." There were other people in line, so she made an already stressful situation worse. I was so embarrassed and upset when I turned around to see that other customers were watching it all. I don't think a customer should ever be made to feel this way.

I'm a long time Propst customer, but was going to switch all my prescriptions over to Star Pharmacy right across the street from Propst because it is slightly more convenient to get in and out of Star Pharmacy, but the pharmacists there told me they would fill this one time, but in the future, I need to get my prescriptions filled at Propst. Not sure what their deal is. Apparently they have the same owner. But for the pharmacist to tell me that is extremely rude. I won't go back there again.

This pharmacy has the most rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. The supervisor LAUGHED in the background when all I wanted to do was report his employees PISS POOR customer service. She hung up on the phone when all I was trying to do was understand her instructions more clearly. She also wanted me to fill ALL my prescriptions just so I could get one. Huge disappointment when all I needed was some help

I love Star,I have shopped here for over 30 years,when it was alot smaller, before they expanded. They have always had my medication and go out of their way to do whatever I need for my specialty medications..Thanks everyone!

I switched from Walgreens to Star Discount Pharmacy - Five Points about a year ago, and I am exceedingly pleased. Star Discount Pharmacy *always* has my meds in stock; they fill same day; and they are notably less expensive. Star Discount Pharmacy operates like a well-oiled machine, customer service is excellent, and everyone I've encountered there is personable and ready to help. I also simply enjoy visiting Star Discount Pharmacy inside of the old Star Market --the hardwood floors, wood benches, and maybe even some of the linoleum are the same as when my folks shopped there in the '50's; the smells are intoxicating .. I just enjoy the vibe there.

Edit: changing to a 1-star review. I realized the medication was expired (over a year and a half ago). Got my reimbursement, but found out that the reason they had charged me was because insurance would only give them like $19, so the solution was to charge me more. Luckily I have really great insurance that called them and helped work things out. The pharmacist, John, was incredibly rude to them, swearing at them and hanging up. Eventually got my prescription transferred to another pharmacy for, guess what, no charge! No apology or anything from Star. Even though I did get my money back and non-expired medication, the pharmacist’s behavior here was all around bad. I don’t even want to shop at the store anymore.—Original review:The only reason this isn’t a 1-star review is because they’ve filled my other prescriptions without trouble.Went in to get a prescription and was told my insurance didn’t cover it—I should have called my insurance then and there, but I was tired and not feeling the best, so I figured I’d do it when I got home. Turns out I’m 100% covered for that prescription, and they had used an old/out-of-date code. But of course, that’s the only code they had, so they “couldn’t have run it any other way.” And even though I’m 100% covered, they will not reimburse me. So I essentially gave away $200 to them today.Found out from my insurance that they really should have told me about the code. It all seems very underhanded.Not again. Not one of my prescriptions will be filled here in the future, and I’d recommend to anyone—be very cautious if you do use them. I’m extremely disappointed.

My prescription was out of stock at another pharmacy and I was scheduled to go out of town. I called to see if STAR had the medicine in stock and was told they did have it available. I called my doctor and had them send the prescription remotely to STAR so I could continue my medicinal therapy as prescribed by my doctor. After waiting a long time, going back to the other pharmacy and having them back my medicine out of the system so my insurance would cover it at STAR, and then returning to STAR to have my medicine filled, he refused to fill it. I was told when my other medicine was filled there, he would fill that medicine also. The problem is that I just had my other medicine filled and it’s not due for a refill for several months. Needless to say, I still have not been able to get my medicine filled and just returned from my trip. I didn’t realize a pharmacist could refuse to fill a script (even though he had it in stock) because he couldn’t fill my other meds (that had just been filled).. Perhaps I am lacking the knowledge I need to understand why a pharmacist can willingly withhold filling a prescription due to not being able to fill allat the same time. In addition, he wasn’t kind or understanding. It genuinely saddens me to leave a poor review, but if your considering changing pharmacies, I would double check to make sure you don’t have a similar experience.

They said they had my medicine in stock so I got it transferred there, BIG mistake.. they said my insurance wouldn’t cover it and it would be 4,000 he was rude and so was the pharmacist. So I called my doctor tried to get my prescription changed and couldn’t get a hold of them so I decided to have it transferred to a different pharmacy and my insurance not only covered it, but also with no cost to me… don’t use them they don’t know what they’re doing!

I’ve had a few issues over years and notice how at times the entire pharmacy is overwhelmed. I have to give them credit for attempting to do what no other pharmacy even try. Despite how busy they are they are quick to fill a walk-in prescription. Unfortunately while trying to achieve such lofty goals issues arise and mistakes happen. The out front staff does their best to accommodate some often “less than friendly” customers with a smile and a happy word. I’ve witnessed a lot of tension in the air at times but that comes with the territory of a massive assembly line. Hats off for the efforts! I’ve had situations arise from time to time requiring (I felt) to communicate with management. Unfortunately they don’t seem to feel any sense of urgency and sometimes just ignore me completely. Example I happen to notice that one prescription I get regularly had been refilled incorrectly. This had happened another time and I left messages that went nowhere. This time I hand delivered a direct letter last week in hopes of getting contacted in a reasonable time but yet to hear or see anything. I really like my overall experience with Star Pharmacy but wish they cared more about the type customer support I just explained. A+ to the young ladies at the counter. I know the pharmacist are doing the best they can do based on the extreme intake.

Always so nice to there shoppers and so quick to help! I love coming here! But the only thing I'd do differently would be to stop rushing so much at the pharmacy and take y'all's time with each person. I feel bad like I'm putting more pressure on them when I come because there so sweet lol but I freaking love all the employees even the atmosphere outside is amazing! Usually there's always a guy with a guitar, or buckets drumming with em, or kids selling cookies, always a good vibe seriously!

Count your prescriptions before leaving to avoid a 2nd trip!!This month they filled 6 of the 12 prescriptions, so I had to make another same day trip back to the pharmacy. Both Sept & Oct I had to make 2nd trips for their mistakes. need to start giving them a bill for time & gas.

I've been going here for years. Love it. Back in 2010 whenever I'd try to fill my prescriptions, the same one I had for years it doesn't matter what I do, say, or how nice I dress, it used to be a humiliating experience trying to get my prescription refilled. At one point it took me to 8 different pharmacies, some of them without even looking at the slip, they would tell me "sorry we're out of those" and if I said "but you didn't read it". they would look down look up and say "we're out of those" maybe they're just upset they weren't cut out to be doctors I don't know, but at star pharmacy, they remember my name they're always extremely polite and they call me on my birthday to say "happy birthday". I got my covid booster shot here also, and the years of trust and respect that had been built up made it way less stressful than the initial vaccines I got at a drive-thru behind Crestwood. (No shade on Crestwood lol, they were nice also) but the familiarity of the pharmacy helped to ease my anxiety significantly. 100% recommend this Pharmacy, they're very efficient, kind, and kill it everyday with the crowds of people who depend on them for their prescriptions. ❤️

I've been a BIG FAN of the pharmacy staff as I have always been treated with kindness, patience and have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The Ladies always have a smile to spare or even sometimes I end up laughing even if I'm having a horrible time. I thank all of you and now that I'm unfortunately having to live in Madison, I STILL go over to 5points every month...I doubt anything would change that!! I love y'all and thank you!!

The staff here are always very nice and they have FAST service. They aren't quite as willing to help with detailed problems and I think that's due more to their workload than anything else. But they will try to help guide you in trying to get it fixed. I think I may have been here once when they weren't slammed. They have a ton of customers but I think the longest I've ever waited on a fill was 15 minutes.

Love this place! The ladies are so helpful and yes,they are very busy but they remember me and my husband and ask how we are and take such good care! The first time I was in my husband had a new rx and it was $115! They promptly told me how to go on line and get a manufacturers discount card and now it's $10! That was beyond personal and considerate.

Fantastic local pharmacy, very personal and spritely service. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Miles better than any of the CVS/Walgreen places. They fill your prescriptions really quickly and take the time to learn your name. I think they do a really great job
