My husband and I bought some white skirt tetras and gold barb and fancy tail goldfish from them to add to our tank. The fancy tails had something called ick that we were not told about, both fancy tails and three neon tetras have died in three weeks. We've been treating this ick for two weeks.

The customer service is very informative and pleasant every time I go. I really appreciate the friendliness and hospitality. I'm always greeted upon entry and I enjoy shopping there.

From the first phone call, the man who answered was so polite and helpful. Like he really wanted to be there, in the salon. The floor staff was extremely welcoming and helpful as well. Actully the nicest transaction I've had with petco. It was so nice.

We went in to buy a guinea pig for my granddaughter a week ago. She picked out the one she wanted. I let the young employee know that we were going to go ahead and pick out the supplies that were needed while she got the pet together. She said that she would be over to help us in a minute. I told her that we were good and didn't need any help picking out the supplies because we have had guinea pigs in the past and knew what to get. She insisted on walking around with us anyway to each item that was needed. She talked loudly and continuously the entire time. She literally talked so loud and so much that she gave me a headache. My husband became super annoyed with her as well. It was very irritating to have her follow us around and talk the entire time like that. We just wanted to shop in peace. If someone tells you that they don't need assistance please listen to them. It is very inconsiderate to do that.

Today I went to Petco to get my baby groomed. Poppy is a labradoodle who has anxiety and can be a hand full! Krissi was so patient with her and was able to cut away at her unfortunately matted hair. I could tell by the way poppy acted when I picked poppy up that she was in great hands! I loved my experience and I will be back to see my girl Krissi!

Got my new little friend here today! Very excited to bring him home. He's a bit lethargic and is resistant to eating, but sometimes this is a problem with bearded dragon babies. I will over come with greater stubbornness then he, and with annoyingly bright love!!!! And worms. lol.They also have a very nice staff of animal lovers and a great variety of fishes. Got a school of 10 black neon tetras. My hope is they will school with my blue neons and form a hive mind society of little glowing swimmies!! 😃

I usually don't leave reviews, but I hope this spreads awareness for how undercared for their fish are. I'm not a professional, but this is beyond unacceptable. The stench that others have stated smelling is from how dirty and polluted their tanks are. There were many fish you could tell were sick or dying on top of these two pictures. Their care has only gone down over the many times I have been there, and I will not ever buy fish from them. I've had fish die within days from getting them from Petco with proper care from already being sick. If you already have a tank, beware of adding their fish, for they may sicken your other ones.

LOVE THIS STORE & THE EMPLOYEES. Me and my fiancé went in window shopping for a pet bird. We saw the sweetest little pineapple conure and immediately fell in love. The wonderful employees took time and did what they had to to help us get this bird at a awesome price! So thankful for all of their hard work and love for the animals in this store. Thanks again! We love “Squiggles” so much :)

I used to love this place, but they are losing me...I bought dog toys and food for my tarantula and I'm going to get charged for a bag to carry it out in??? Very disappointing.

I would have given 5 stars but we had a hard time finding someone to open cages and find a small pet, that my 3 year old would feel comfortable with. The cashier, whom was very nice, ended up helping us. He definitely made my son's day with the cutest little hamster!!

Store managers are amazing, but the grooming manager, Krissi, is insanely disrespectful. She said she could groom him in 4 hours (not even a full cut was needed). My dog was there for grooming for 7.5 hours, and she never called with an update. Then, when I called for updates and told them I was on my way, they said she was still grooming my dog. Then when I got there, she said he was done for over an hour. THEN said they never call (lie), and that she just expected me to come at some point to get him. Then she said she would charge me MORE for being difficult. I asked for another manager, and she denied there being one. 5 min later- another manager walked in to help out. Krissi is great at grooming but TERRIBLE at taking accountability for not communicating with me about my dog and for getting rude when I complained about not getting an update.

We went in and asked an employee for help with what water is needed for frogs. they said that frogs use distilled water for humidity and it turned out that distilled water is bad for frogs and can be detrimental to their health and resulted in 2 of our frogs deaths.

I absolutely love my pets. They're my family. I trust Petco to help me care for my fur family. I've been a regular at my local Petco for years now, and I've never had any issues. They match the Chewy prices, have a wide selection of everything I need, have friendly staff, and their people are knowledgeable if I have any questions. I don't have any complaints. They even take donations where everything collected goes straight to help fur friends in need. They're great. If I could suggest anything at all, and I know I'm being picky right now, but I would suggest bringing in new dog tag designs periodically for more options. The ones they have are super high quality and cute, but the options are a tad bit scarce. If you haven't tried this Petco, give them a chance. I don't think you'll be disappointed. They've never let us down.

Tommy groomed our dog exactly the way we wanted her to be, as he listened to every detail and asked questions that only we could answer. When we came to pick up our dog, she was so happy and seemed to be 100% catered to.

Walked in at was smacked with the strongest urine smell. The poor ferrets are in cages with rotting paneling in the back, and there are soooo many flies in their cage. Too many ferrets in both cages. Sweetest babies running up to you, clawing at the cages. It's absolutely sad too see. Their fish tanks, most looked ok, but some of them were horrifying to see. The fish are moving so slowly in the nastiest looking water. I get they are goldfish but they should have clean water.

Their fish die. One got ick. One had this weird fuzz. A whole school of tetras died. Trip after trip bringing these fish with water samples. Each time, my water was good. Their fish are not very healthy at all.

Highly don’t recommend for dog grooming my puppy appointment was at 11:45 & I received her back around 3:30pm . The smell in the store is really awlful too the point where it almost made me vomit , also my dog doesn’t even smell clean she just looks like she’s been blow dryed & brushed she was still smelly . She didn’t smell like any type of shampoo and her face around her eyes were still dirty definitely will not recieve my money again .
