This visit I was glad to see that they were practicing covid-19 precautions, which in the past they've been fairly lacking on. I have to say the cashier working this time was extremely helpful with myself and the other customers, also a very nice guy. One thing that really put me off this particular Dollar general is they are incredibly understocked and a lot of their prices have way gone up. Being so understocked was definitely a problem I couldn't find hardly anything I needed.

This dollar general is excellent. It is much larger than expected and has tons of different options for food and other random items. I was very surprised when I went there to get breakfast items to cook and got milk, eggs, coffee, muffin mix, cinnamon rolls and some other stuff. The cashiers were fast and friendly and got everyone out quickly. I will definitely be returning for some of my groceries! This is also walking distance from several different places sounds the five points area so you could walk to other places too.

Update: I contacted corporate and the Facebook site, apparently no one communicates or cares at Dollar General. The lights are shut off at night in the parking lot, homeless people sometimes sleep on the sidewalk. You can't see them to step over them because no one has adjusted the timer on the light pole..yeah they have lights, but they're too cheap or busy to adjust the timer or somebody doesn't care. DANGEROUS AT NIGHT PROCEED WITH CAUTION Also NONE OF THE PHOTOS on Google are depicting this store, all of what you see are stock photos. The store is not modernized, it is minimally staffed, they do not pay their staff well, product is in the isles everywhere, half the shelves are empty. This is common at many Dollar generals in our area so I know it's not just the store manager, it's corporate level mismanagement. Until I see those lights on at night I'm boycotting Dollar general.. it's dangerous and it's not convenient half the time they don't have what I need anyway

Dollar General is close to my home but I've rarely been inside. I was pleasantly surprised. The store has been reorganized, restocked and cleaned. Many items I didn't expect. No shipping carts though ..I'll be back.

The store is really small, & hard to find items. The cashier was really friendly, but there was a rude customer in front of me, who made a diratory statement about the cashier being gay. I felt so sorry for the cashier, as my daughter is also gay, & the cashier said that the same customer comes in everyday, with the same rude remark. The check out line was really long, but the cashier worked efficiently to get the everyone checked out. I feel that this store should check into the harassment that this cashier is having to deal with.

Dollar general always is pretty spot on with prices and availability of merchandise that they carry so I haven't had a negative experience yet. So enjoy your next trip to Dollar General and tell them that Hawthorne sent you and see what happens. I'm just curious I have no idea..

The cashier, Laekyn, was courteous and pleasant. The store had the items I needed, in stock. Unfortunately, the store was filthy, as was the floor. I have shopped at this particular store for 3 years...let's just say, I have an accurate base line concerning this store. I've seen sections being reset, stock being replenished, Penny Days, long lines in sweltering heat because the air conditioning was broken, and muddy entrances...however, I have never seen it as disheveled and filthy, as it was today.

I've been away for about 2 weeks so I dont know how new he is, but the new gentleman working was absolutely wonderful! Extremely nice!Update** come to find out the gentleman's name is Robbie. And he is about as pleasant as they come! He has Amazing customer service skills!

1 Star because you have to put at least 1 to leave a comment...Had an encounter with the rudest employee ever. Our conversation ended with her telling me “to go to another tore”, all I was trying to do was ask a question about a product, I told her she was being rude & to go on with what she was working on but she wouldn’t stop running her mouth, I had to walk out of the store, but we could still hear her. She informed me she didn’t do the planogram that was the store manager which had nothing to do with the product I was asking about. I’ve never been treated this way in my life I can say that completely honestly never have a been towed to go shop at another store but I will, I won’t be back in that store

The store is not well maintained. Especially the clothing was a wreck. You would think someone would drop Halloween candy down from the top stock to the empty shelves below especially being Halloween day!!! When I was checking out there were 5 people in line and the assistant manager came up to talk to the cashier but didn't offer to open up a second register she just loitered around and finally left. How incredibly rude and insensitive.

This place use to be five stars plus with me. I have noticed a very high employee turnover rate over the last year. Some of the new employees are helpful and friendly, some act like they are there just for a check at the end of the week. I use to stop in at least once a day, now it may be twice a week.

They've really expanded their food section! Mostly canned and otherwise non-refrigerated, but they have a pretty fair refrigerated and frozen section as well.Also, make sure to check the dollar aisle -- I got a BIG bag of lavender epsom salts for a buck!

I was there a bit before 8am. Like 755 the gentlemen moping (looked like a manager/ district manager) was sweet enough to let me in out of the cold. All I needed was sugar and creamer for our office. He walked me to the aisle and aske if there was anything else I would need. I CASHED OUT with the young lady at 8:00AM ! I've never had great service like this at Dollar General. ❤❤❤

Shopping was okay. The store seems to always have stocking going on and yesterday I tripped over debris in the aisle. This particular Dollar General on Meridian St in Huntsville, AL has employee turn over, stocking issues, and is frequently out of staple products that I turn up having to go to another, further away, store to get. However, yesterday was the worst! Not only was I caused to injury by wanton neglected stock piles but I also didn't receive my $5 off when using my digital coupons. I would like to be contacted by a regional supervisor over this matter. The injury I suffered is enough for me to contact a lawyer. I would hope you people cared enough about you customers to avoid this from happening.

The DG on Andrew Jackson N has new life. Shelves are stocked and store is super clean inside and out. The young man at the register was friendly, wearing a mask, held the door for customers and happy in his role of serving customers.

They always have the shelves stocked. I've never had as n unfriendly cashier. We always stop there for a drink, and chips or cookies. when we go to Huntsville.

Came after work to grab some candy for Halloween. Also, my daughter asked if I could check to see if they had any glitter face paint (finishing touch for her costume). To my shock, I actually found some;the last one. It looked really chincy but I got it anyhow & was really surprised at how good it turned out. Only 3 stars because there was only 1 register opened with a really long line.

First time in this location so not sure how it is all the time but it was Christmas eve and we needed a few things so we were in the area and decided to try them. They were out of several things we needed but understandable with Christmas shopping winding down but they were very friendly and will definitely return again when we're in the area.

The staff try their best and do the best they can. The low rating is not for them, it's for the uneducated, inconsiderate, simple minded, white trash, moron customers who always get in the way and pull stupid stunts in the store, in the checkout, and in the parking lot and waste everyone's time.

Awful place, everytime we've been there there's a homeless person outside panhandling or the workers have some b.s. reason to ALWAYS have a stupid long line, just the worst place. I hate saying this but you could honestly go further out of your way to Walmart and be home faster than going here.

Store sometimes isn't kept stocked well. I have seen it take 3 to 4 weeks for some items to be restocked after running out. Most items are easy to locate though as long as it is stocked.

This place sucks try to exchange my dad Verizon phone cause the one he brought was a damaged phone the people don't even know how to do that now I have to wait 25 hours till the manager get in to exchange it this place needs to be shut down

Most well-stocked Dollar General I've ever been in, catering more to the area & demographic - spotted real LEGO sets which I've never seen in a DG before.
