Reserve a one hour time slot online to come hangout with a bunch of kittens and maybe even adopt one! It is $10 per person per hour and up to 12 people per session. Adoptions are $95 each. This place is always hopping it seems. It is located in the Lowe Mill arts and entertainment building which is very deceiving from the outside. Follow the directions in the reservation email to find the booth inside! The kittens are super friendly and love to play. Tons of room to just sit on the couch and let the cats come to you. We enjoyed our hour of cat loving. Will come again another day!

We love going to Cattyshack and playing with the cats and kittens. It is always fun to see different cats everytime we have gone. We love supporting this organization as we have 3 feral rescues at home and want all the cats to find their furever home. Go play and maybe find the cat for you.

We adopted a kitten from Cattyshack after fostering her for a few days and the process was simple and quick! She hadn't been spayed yet but the procedure and all her shots were covered under the adoption fee for less than it would have cost on our own. She adapted quickly to our home and other cats and we are so thankful Cattyshack brought us to her!

Catty Shack needs to update their website. I reached out to Catty Shack in regard to a young kitten they had available for adoption. This kitten checked all of my boxes and I was really excited to potentially adopt her. I received a response stating that she needed to go to a home with another cat. So given that I currently do not have any pets, I was told I could adopt another cat from them to give her a companion. This was never stated in her bio that she needed to go to a home that had another cat. Simply adding that detail to the bio would've saved me from getting my hopes up. I understand they had concerns that the kitten would need socialization, but I assured them that there would be constant socialization from not only my household, but other cats that are owned from family/friends. Then I was told if I only want one cat, I should adopt an older one. I don't have anything against older cats; however, my preference was a young, female kitten. The whole interaction felt very discouraging and I hope other rescues handle communication much better. I hope that Catty Shack takes note of this so that future applicants are not left disappointed. My friends and I will be taking our business elsewhere.

Absolutely love my experience here! They are thorough in their background check and review of potential adoptors, so you can always be sure the cat(s) are going to a good home! Love the people here and my experience was so easy! As long as you are doing what is best for the cats, there is no reason they would deny you! Great cats, great people, great procedures!

Very disappointed. We reached out for a certain kitten. Was told in email they don’t recommend adopting a kitten without other cats/kittens in the house. And then pretty much denied us unless we adopted another one. They explain it’s because single kitten syndrome. I personally don’t understand this for the fact someone be home constantly in my house hold loving and giving this kitten attention. And I know plenty of people that have one single cat and got them as kittens. I don’t fault them for having suggestions but it’s no longer a suggestion if you can’t adopt just because of this. This makes it a policy and if you’re going to do that put it on your website main page and in every kittens bio you put on your website. I can’t afford two cats. We only want one. We can afford one and want a kitten. You get peoples hopes up due to the fact that in the application that’s the only reason they denied the adoption. told us “ we prefer she goes to a home with another kitten. “ which this was not listed in her bio on their site And then told an age range that would “ fit” me and told to go back to the website.

I am so happy to have been able to adopt my kitten from Cattyshack. When I applied for adoption the form asks if there are other pets in the home and how long you are gone every day, which is a great way to weed out people who may not have time or want to adopt a kitten (always better to adopt in pairs, or have another pet in the house). Most kittens need other kittens or pets so they don't become lonely, which can affect their happiness and development. I have other pets so I was more nervous if they would get along with the new kitten. I got approved to adopt, introduced the kitten to my boys, and now have a loving family of all boy cats (too many boys lol). Plus, the lounge is a great place to visit. It only costs $10 per person, and you can go check out the cats to see if you click with one. I highly suggest if you want to adopt a cat or kitten, make a reservation, go visit, and see who might work for you. Just know, not everyone gets approved because they want to make sure the cat or kitten goes to the home that is best for them. I know there have been a few cats that had to be the only cats in the home, and I know that if adopting a young kitten they won't usually adopt them out if they are going to be the only pet in the house.

Cattyshack is a wonderful addition to Huntsville! So many cats have found wonderful homes through this organization. We adopted our Noodle from here and couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend checking them out whether it is for adoption or just a fun afternoon visit!

This place is actually pretty cool. You can pay $10 for an hour to come in and hang out with the cats that are there. The way that it's set up is what's cool. This is a Foster and adoption program, so the people fostering the cats bring them into the cafe for a few days each week when they're open. This allows people to interact with the cats in a natural way in order to help them get adopted. It was really cool to be able to see different cats and think about how they might mix with the cat that I currently have. I love the idea of the program so much I'm actually getting involved in fostering with them. On the way out you can grab a soda and a snack as part of the $10 that you've paid. The cat's here are Precious and Flipper. They're both super adorable

Took the kids for a relaxing play date with the adorable kitties at Cattyshack. Fun to just sit on the couch and let the kitties come to you or you can wander the two rooms looking for mischievous kitties ready to play.

Nice cozy place with several toys & treats for the kitties! My family seemed to have a great time whenever we made reservations! We ended up adopting a cat there even though we didn't plan to lol

I foster for Cattyshack and am so happy I am able to help them save lives. So far I've fostered eleven cats and kittens (only adopting one, so, yay me!). I have to say that I love their screening process. I know some rescues and shelters just let anyone adopt the cats and kittens they have and I'm really glad Cattyshack is not like that. I grow really attached to these babies, and want them to go to the best home possible. Just today, one of the kittens we've had since he was two months old (he's now 8 months old), was adopted by a great person. This person has another cat, so I know our foster will be happy in his new forever home because he is super social. The screening process made me feel like my foster was going to the home that was absolutely perfect for him, which made everything less stressful for me because I always fall in love with the cats and kittens I foster. Thank you Cattyshack for all you do for the community and the cats! And thanks for letting me be a part of the process.

Catty shack is very underwhelming, I’m not gonna lie. Carrie needs to do better. Inquiries about kittens are almost always turned away unless you “adopt more than one”. I understand what bonding is and how separation anxiety can affect all animals of any breed. But it seems less about the kittens feelings and more so of a cash grab to incentivize more monetization on behalf of the kittens. Rather than the wellbeing and assurance of them finding a good forever home. The way she talks to you in explaining her reasoning is also very demeaning. My feelings aren’t hurt, but I’m also not a child. I speculate the “other older cats you can choose from” are old and remain unadopted due to her being so complicated to work with. It exudes poor business practice and bad ethics, as it seems she cares less about the older cats. Sending them off to the same homes she finds “unacceptable for kitties” as if somehow an older cat doesn’t deserve the same criteria reserved for the younger breeds. I find it to be very unprofessional how this woman goes about her business. But that’s fine, bc I’ll simply just look elsewhere for a kitten. This establishment has its priorities mixed up. I can only hope in me being turned down, it wasn't motivated.

Cattyshack is amazing! We have adopted three of our cats from Cattyshack. Tina and Carrie do amazing work, always making decisions with the best interest of the cats. We have enjoyed all of our interactions with this amazing nonprofit rescue!

Wonderful place to adopt a pet, because you get to meet them first and see a lot of different types of cats together first. Also a great way to get in fostering cats yourself if you are hoping to help the strays.

Great place for kitty therapy. The cats get to roam free and have a great place to play and relax and be loved by humans during your reserved time so it is never crowded!.

Your experience is directly tied to your expectations. I knew going in that they may or may not have kitties that are personalized (cozy to humans yet) so my friend and I purchased treats for a quarter to toss around the room. We also tried out a couple of their many cat toys to strike an interest, but maybe the afternoon was just going to be slow. We were amused at how the cats were all grooming and resting after the treats. We are totally behind this long-standing local cause. It is, after all, a place devoted to caring for and adopting out their kitties to forever homes! I personally love and miss having a cat and cannot presently home one, although they had several I would love to! Still, I enjoy sitting and watching them and having quiet conversations with friends and family on their comfortable sofas in a room full of cats. It just makes me happy. This can be a great place to bring any cat-lover and it is set in one of the most interesting places to stroll and meander in the Huntsville area at Low Mills! They offer little specialty shops, art galleries, chocolatiers, teas shops and fast food, and even an amazing guitar/mandolin building shop with a worldwide reputation! You should check it out!!!Oh! And the restrooms are to the right as you walk out their door!😁

Wonderful experience. Spent an hour playing with the cats. All have been wonderfully socialized (even the most skittish one eventually wandered over for pets). The place was incredibly clean and had no unpleasant smell, which is difficult when you have so many animals in one space. Please consider visiting and adopting from them!

I called them for a replacement of a cat that is 9 years old they responded very quickly and found a foster home for my sister's cat until they can find a forever home. She had to be put in a memory Care facility so she can no longer take care of her cat due to her memory and her age. I really appreciate this company and what they do for cats and kittens so if you have donations of any kind please donate to this establishment because they're there to help the community and the animals

I volunteer here. Love spending time with all kitties and meeting all the people who pay $10 an hour, per person, to play and pet the 🐈s too. The owner Tina, has such a big heart and is so kind.

I loved my time at cattyshack! The folks were so caring of their cats and kittens and it shows! We had someone in a wheelchair that was able to come in and see the cats and we all had a lovely time getting all the kitty snuggles. The visiting room had human sized couches and cat sized couches! Even a little TV playing for the cats to be entertained and a cat running wheel. There were all the bells and whistles (or rather bells and feathers!) for the people to play with the cats and find your furever friend!

My daughter & her friends had a fun day of activities at Lowe Mill & Stovehouse for her bday recently & this was one of the stops. Play time with kittens. Very friendly worker & just a fun idea, although a little odd. My daughter enjoyed it.
