I went to the store today (03/18/2024), with my son at around 3 pm.I asked about the Blue Copper Marans pullets posted for $9.50 each, they told me there wasn’t any left, I went to check those silver containers where they have them and I saw about 6 of them mixed in with some Easter Eggers and a few other chicks, I told them there were a few in there and I got told those were Brown Leghorns not Blue Copper Marans, so I proceeded to tell them that they where Blue Copper Marans because they were Blue and they had feathered feet, which I got sarcastically told by an old man at the store “all of the chicks have feathers” and I said, no sir feathered feet, there’s a few blue chicks with feathered feet and he told me once again that those weren’t Blue Copper Marans, so I proceeded to tell him that I wanted them anyways and I asked for 4, so he gave me the 4 chicks I asked for, he put them in 2 separated boxes (2 chicks in each box), I went to the register with my 2 boxes and a few other items and the lady at the register asked me if I was sure that they were Blue Copper Marans, and I told her that I was sure they were Blue Copper Marans, then she said that she didn’t wanted to charge me for something I did not get, at that point I didn’t care what they would charge me for, I just wanted to pay whatever the amount was and go home with my son and our 4 chicks. The lady just walked away to the back of the store and then she came back with another employee, she rudely took the boxes from my hands and just said “No, those chicks are not available” and I asked her why and her answer was ¡I don’t know! ¿Is there any other chicks you want?Honestly that was such an ugly experience, I just paid for my other 3 items and left the store.

This review is based on my first visit to this local business. The lady who answered my call was knowledgeable and polite. When I arrived to purchase the items I'd called about, she was nice and struck up a conversation. I plan to return.

This was a real nice Feed Store walked in the door could smell the poultry in the air knew I was in the right space. Best looking place I've seen in a while. Then I was greeted by Mr Boots in the back good little fellow he is loves attention loves your moment in time especially when your hands are all on him. Anyway the best place in town to get what you need if you do get a chance to stop by tell Mr Boots I said hey.

This is an old-fashioned country store with everything you could need for the small-time farmer. They have great prices on many things, even competing with online stores like Amazon. But the best deal I found was on seeds, and o boy, do they have a variety of them. Come check them out for yourself.

Very nice place and the people are really nice and friendly. They hosted a fund raiser for HAWS group and the dogs got to trick or treat.When I go back to Huntsville I hope to drop by again.

I went to CT Garvin to buy a few pieces of sod. Told the lady at the cash register that I wanted to buy two pieces of Zoysia and 3 pieces of Bermuda and paid for it. Went out back and spread my plastic in the back of my NEW Honda CRV and carefully loaded two pieces of Zoysia as to not get dirt all over the carpet. Next thing I know a guy comes over and THROWS two pieces of Bermuda into the back of my NEW Honda CRV and splatters wet dirt ALL over my carpet. I then asked what about my third piece of Bermuda. He then tells me I only paid for two pieces of Bermuda. I then say I told her "3" pieces. He then says "#uc$ it" and then throws another piece of Bermuda into the back which spread even MORE DIRT. I went home, laid the sod and spent over an hour cleaning the mud out of my car in the 96 deg heat!1. I don't need to steal a $2 piece of sod from anyone.2. Their freshly delivered sod looked like it had been cut a couple of weeks ago.3. Their "awe shucks" small town store marketing has a really nasty "big town" middle finger attitude. Including the fine print details such as: "Returns paid by credit card will be charged a 4% fee." READ YOUR RECEIPT...NEVER AGAIN! Buyer beware!

Changing my 5 star to 1 star. Used to really like garvins. But the last few bags of feed have been moldy. Been trying to return the last batch, but did not see the mold until after the bag was dumped into my feed holder. garvins will not help...I'll not be buying anything else. Be sure to check your feed before leaving the store, garvins no longer stands behind what they sell. Sad....

I just wanted to give a quick review. We have been going here for quite some time for several different outdoor/yard/grass items. Great store and products. We had an issue recently regarding some sod and miscommunication that the store owner (Katie) helped resolve. Wanted to give them two thumbs up and thank her for taking care of the issue, listening to my complaint, and making it right.

When it comes to buying products from this store, they won't get my vote. I purchased a product for squirrels, the associate told me it would work, seem like the product encouraged the squirrels to destroy my flower bed, not chase them away. So no more spending money there for me.

Super friendly service and decent prices.Always the freshest plants and seedlings. Livestock solid as well.Often times cheaper than the big box stores.Honestly not really a reason to go anywhere else.As of 7/14/23, still the best place to go.

I've shopped, and bought from Garvin's better part of 40yrs, always good pricing, good selection, staff is typically friendly, helpful. From farm type hardware, to agricultural, to your house critters, they seem to have what you need, vs what the big box stores want to sell you! Just a little farm store, with the right stuff!

A really great and unique store. They have "seed and feed," live chickens and ducklings, flowers, grass, straw, hay and the list goes on and on. If you need something for your yard or farm, they have it. They carry things for your horse, dog, cat, chickens, if you need it they probably have it. It is fun to walk around and look at all items they have in stock. The staff is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. If the clerk doesn't know the answer to a question, they take you to the person who does know the answer. Great place, it's fun to go there even if you do not need anything.

They have ssssnake reppelent near the door I almost turned around. Alsssso the chickens for sssale weren't for sssale. I guess first come first ssserve isn't a thing anymore. It's a ssstinky store and the world is backwards when you gotta pay extra to get non genetically modified chicken feed.

Great store to get all your fox farms products from for a very good price. Especially when you compare the prices to other local stores like Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes. They have a lot of other good products for horticulture as well so I would definitely recommend them.
