Have taken my dog to Scenthound twice now. The service was above and beyond. They took her as an emergency the first day we got her from the shelter. They were incredibly kind and the service was great. My pup came out looking clean and happy. This last time she was in and out in about an hour. I would highly recommend using Scenthound for your grooming needs

The first times I took my dog to the Hoover location everything was okay . He seemed to enjoy it and the groomer and front desk were super sweet. The time before yesterday he looked the best. I took my dog yesterday basically requesting the same thing and couldn't be more disappointed. First they ask you to tip the groomers before seeing the dog. Which I did and now regret. I asked for a shaggy Maggy when checking my dog in. He did not receive a shaggy Maggy he is even shorter than a fuzzy muzzy. They cut off all of his eyebrows and mustache. And the cuts on the face were very uneven and choppy. He has razor burn on his delicate areas. And for some reason just under one arm they completely shaved the fur down to skin. I know he didn't have any mats because I completely brushed him and they felt him up before taking him to the back so I can see no reason for the random armpit shave. The oddest and most concerning event is when they called me after I picked him up and asked if he was missing any teeth because they found a tooth in the bath. As best I can tell he has all of his but not easy to check. As of this posting 24 hours after picking him up they still haven't posted the notes in the app yet.I don't know if his normal groomer was out or if the instructions got mixed up on dogs but he looks ridiculous. On his tail the cut down about 4 inches starting from his back and the left the rest of the tail long. We're glad they didn't cut the whole tail.

My Norfolk Terrier had his first experience with Scenthound this morning. He is an anxious dog and Scenthound seemed to keep him calm during his bath, trim and blow dry. Only took one hour instead of previous groomer holding him all day. Reasonable rates. I am very happy.

I really didn’t realize how much we would appreciate the monthly bath and wellness review for our two goldendoodles. In-between grooms (“haircuts”), which we get every two months, we still get a clean pooch who feels so much better (and smells so much better I might add). Before, we would always put off sending them to the groomer, because they weren’t ready for a full groom, and a full groom was costly (a good groomer is 100 percent WORTH IT, don’t get me wrong). But now we get a clean doggie between grooms with trimmed nails and brushed teeth!Before: paying $85 per dog for groom every two months (let’s say $42.50/month then, per dog), and dogs were stiiiiiinky by then, or one of us had broken down and actually bathed them, which we don’t love. When we DID wash them every other month, it cost $20/dog to use Petco’s self-serve dog wash. So that’s another $10/month/dog, so basically spending $52.50/month for bimonthly bath and bimonthly bath+groom. But we were spending the time doing the bathing. Also we were clipping nails, brushing teeth, cleaning ears on our own in-between grooms. Mostly forgetting to do these things, tbh.Now: we’re paying $35 per month for basic care plus $66 every two months for a groom for an average of $68/month per dog. That’s an extra $15.50 per month per dog above what we were paying. That is soooo worth it to add to our budget to not have to 1) wash our dogs ourselves, 2) brush their teeth, 3) clip their nails between grooms (though we do a little trim on Sokka every three weeks for now, as suggested by the SCENThound team, because his quicks were getting a little long—so, awesome tip), or 4) worry that I forget to check and clean their ears enough. I really like the peace of mind that comes from a real groomer (not just one of us) looking over their skin and ears and teeth each month, even if it’s not a groom month.

First time, very satisfied, and was really fast. Very personable staff, they even sent a text 20 minutes before Quincy (70lb golden retriever) was ready so, I had time to get there.I forgot to mention Quincy needing his top feet hair clipped and they said no problem and took him right back and in minutes he was ready to go. Will definitely return for Quincy’s grooming needs.🐾🐾

Bella had her first visit to Scenthound today. She was very impressed with the service. She picked the coconut scented shampoo. (Smells wonderful).Her mom appreciated the professionalism with the staff and was quite pleased with being able to drop Bella off, run a few errands and then receive a text that she was ready.An email was sent to me with a 6 Point Check on her condition.She is camera shy but beautiful!

Manager Jordon was not very professional and not to concerned about making my experience better. When I complained about my dog being too wet after his monthly bath and that I may cancel services if it continued she was all to ready to help me cancel instead of making it right.

I honestly can’t say enough great things about this Scenthound location here in Hoover! I just rescued a Australian shepherd that needed grooming and lots of TLC.. Bailey was so kind, patient and did a EXCELLENT job on Wilson.. Bailey truly cares about the dogs she grooms. I was happy to have met her after his bath.. I was greeted by Emily who was so patient , kind and professional and answered all of my questions.. I was so nervous and she and Madison did their best to calm me down. Thank you so much ladies you truly are the Best!!
