Whenever I come down to Smith Lake, I stop at S & S to pick up some filets. Medium rare and the most tender steak I have had. Grab some deviled eggs by the deli and I’m all set! I just need to walk past their bakery, which is delicious as well.

Great meat choices and clean store, I've been shopping here for years with no issues until last night when I was blatantly lied to over a reduced item product and then the kid threw charcoal lighter fluid bottle on top of my steaks in the bag, not the usual service from previous visits and lying about a marked down item to avoid doing your job doesn't sit well with me especially after being in the grocery business previously. Might have to visit the big W from now on.

S & S has THE BEST meats!!! Great, great employees, good bakery selection, but I was disappointed that they rarely carry the baby cucumbers. Still, all of their pluses far outweigh that one, small item.There are only two (2) locations for this family-owned grocery store, so you'd think they were somewhat 'pricy'. No, they aren't. Very competitive. Good people all the way around.

This store has went from a five-star rating for me to a 2-star their management is awful I bought three packs a Gorton's fish that has been recalled and when I called back up to tell her I did find bones in mine and did not want them needed my money back a manager refused to give it back to me she said she could not find any recall on Gorton's fish and that if she didn't know about it it wasn't happening but it was posted all over the internet now my husband goes up there and buys a pound of Kentucky Legend ham it is on the verge of going bad it's already turning gray it has lost its flavor this is really disappointing because I usually buy my meat from here And only here,but until they get a better manager that cares about their customers I won't be shopping here!

My local grocery. They have plant-based milk, Starbucks vegan caramel macchiato and hazelnut latte creamer, drink mixers, pomegranate juice, and the salsa in the produce area is my favorite! It is made in the store, so it is a little different each time.

S and S while not in the best location does carry a wide range of products and they also have a good meat department. They are always running specials and have quality products.We stop for groceries here at least a couple of times a week. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Butchers will grind, cut special and even order you special cuts if you ask. Very helpful and convenient.UrbanCowgillUpdated Dec 2022

They are so sweet and helpful their meat is the best in Cullman and anything that comes from the deli is delicious 😋 the manager Beth is a very helpful polite and just has a great attitude thanks so much for everything y’all do to be a community store and I love that it is locally owned and has that hometown feel.

I was pleasantly surprised. S&S is off the road a bit in a nondescript building, but the inside is very neat, clean, and has everything you need and a few you may have forgotten. Excellent meat department, fresh produce, and a wide variety of frozen foods. They even have homemade casseroles made on site. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back in the future.

A great selection of meats and produce, the the quality of items made in-store are fabulous. (I can't seem to make it out of there without one of their key lime pies). Great selection on all products, (I had looked everywhere for refried black beans, found them at S&S!) And the people who work there are so friendly and helpful.

I have always thought S&S Foods in Doge City, Al. had very nice meats. On Friday the 10th, I got some (8) bone in center cut pork chops special cut for grilling. To make this short, they were the tastiest, tenderest, most moist pork chops my wife and I have ever eaten. Thank you thank you thank you for being way above expectations. I love this little store, found it just riding around on a Sunday and decided to stop in and check it out. I was very impressed with their meat department, especially with the selection of different cuts of steaks. Everything in the vegetable department looked to be fresh and well rotated. They had at the time some of the largest baking potatoes I've ever seen, really nice little grocery store!!

Just tried a pork loin that was run thru the cuber...like country fried steak...it was slathered with cream cheese...yellow and red bell peppers and seasoned then rolled jelly roll fashion. Michael...in the meat room wrapped it in bacon .... What's not to like about this! I cooked it for an hour at 350 then opened the foil and cooked for another hour to crisp the bacon....oh my gosh it was wonderful! Very affordable and enough to feed a large family. Way to go Michael....you deserve a gold star for this one! Thank you!

They have remodeled this grocery store. I love it.. the aisle are ample space to shop and not worry about some one else being on same isle. They have always as far back as I can remember had the best butcher that works in meat department. Fresh good looking meat. Willing to help you in any way. Will be going back a lot.
