This was horrible,, a dead fish or two is normal but the amount of animal cruelty was astonishing. There was a dead skink, the ferrets tank was covered in feces . And a bearded dragon was housed in a tank with cracked glass..

Love this little pet store! The staff is super friendly and very helpful. They spent extra time to explain the difference in cat food and our cats not only love their food but are doing so much better. Thank you for your help!

Angel was extremely helpful! I did a pick up order for a chameleon that we were purchasing and I had no idea what to actually get as we have never owned a reptile before. I ordered everything wrong, she called me and explained everything and helped me get everything we needed for the same price. She’s great! If your looking to purchase a reptile I would recommend her.

Our two 100lb German Shepherds have a standing appointment every 2 weeks with Kia for grooming,and they absolutely love her. Highly recommend her for your grooming needs.

I arrived before the doors even opened. At 8 months pregnant and carting a rambunctious 2 year old in tow, I wanted to get in and out. We immediately knew what we wanted and picked out two Mickey Platy fish within about 5 minutes of being there.. then began the waiting period. The fish were overpriced even compared to their website, but I was willing to bite the bullet as my daughter has been asking for a fish for months and our tank has been cycled for a few days now. They seemed very active and healthy, so we wanted to go ahead and get them. After walking up the the front and asking for help, I was totally ignored for 30 minutes as my toddler excitedly talked to the rabbits. I asked two more people and was, again, ignored. I've never been to a place that makes it so difficult to take my money and after a total of 45 minutes of waiting for service at the register, we left empty handed. Never again.I'd like to add to the owner that the two men working today were complaining about how they were tired of being threatened of being fired and that "she should either do it or not." Do with that what you will.

good clean store.the "manager of the fish department" needs more fish education. I have studied aquarium fish for over 15 years. each time i go go a new untrusted store i ask questions to find out the knowledge and experience level of the staff so i know what to expect. He gave me VERY BAD answers on BASIC questions like pH and compatibility. He is a fine salesman, but if you want to keep loyal and excited customers you might want to get him educated !

I love this store! There’s lots of animals (reptiles, bunnies, a pet tarantula, etc.) throughout the store. The thing I love the best is the room full of cats! It even has kittens and I could pet all of them (except for the ones that are sick) if the vet could let me!

The employees are very unprofessional I will never go there again the employees are all in the back hiding when I called the store for my pickup they would not answer I went inside the store and called they still didn't answer I was there to pick up my order

Terrible service!! there was 6 workers and a manager in he store when I went in and I asked someone to help me get some crickets and the guy went in the back and took him at least 10 min to come back out with them. I said thanks and told him I needed to get some fish too and he said “okay” and then walked away and never came back to help me so I had to go find someone else to help me who didn’t seem reluctant to help me at all. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and it should of took all of 5 min to have this done with all the people in the store and it took over 20 min and I got to the counter and the same guy who took his time getting my crickets and not helping me get my fish was taking his time at the counter walking around before he helped he lady in front of me and I ultimately just put the bags down on the counter and left because I had a sick baby in the car waiting for me with his dad. I don’t recommend going here. If you want good service I would just make the tripto albertville and go to petsmart.

I bought some fan tail gold fish and they have done great. I lost one but they have a guarantee on their fish so no need to worry! If a fish dosen't make it just take it back!

Excellent customer service, very friendly yet professional. My daughter & I spent over a solid hour in here & everyone was so nice, helpful & never rushed us. My daughter got to hold a snake, ferret & baby bunny! We had so much fun!!

Yesterday, which was Sunday, my senior cat was just not herself. I could tell something was wrong which was causing her much stress. Fellow cat owners know that when cats are stressed, it can lead to even bigger problems. Being a Sunday, my normal vet was closed. So I called and left a message on their emergency line. With no return call after waiting an hour, I then reached out to a fellow animal loving friend and asked who I could call. She recommended Pet Depot. I called and left a message for the vet on call. Within minutes, Dr. Tucker returned my call. He was very nice, took his time answering my every question and concern and gave me some recommendations to help my kitty without having to bring her in to see him. Of course he emphasized that if her behavior did not change after a certain time period, he would need to see her but recommended trying a few things at home first. I felt so much better after speaking with him and I was able to help my fur-baby at home! All of this and I am not an established vet customer at their practice. I even received a call from Dr. Tucker’s staff this morning checking on my cat! I am beyond grateful for this wonderful service! Thank you Dr. Tucker and thank you, Pet Depot! I will definitely be a regular customer going forward because of this fantastic service!

The staff were amazingly friendly. I was very impressed by the customer service. They were a little stingy about holding the animals, but I'm sure they're just protecting them. I've heard of some poor experiences here, but it was pretty good today.

I use the Veterinarian Services of Guntersville that use their back room/offices. I love the staff! They took excellent care in treating my George on a moment's notice! We are so fortunate to have moved here and found them! This is the only Veterinary Service we'll use!

Better prices than PetSmart on most of their animals. Their selection of reptiles changes frequently so it's not always easy to know whether they'll have a specific pet in stock or not. The employees are nice and helpful, but aren't that knowledgeable, especially on the more unusual pets.

Every time I go into the store your employees are soooooo nice and helpful and of course if they're not too busy we share stories about our babies! Always have to look at the animals the store has! Want a ferret so badly but with a dog & 4 cats I don't think it would work out so well! My cats would case the poor thing all over the house & my 110 lb dog is very possive and even though she & the cats groom 1 another she still tries to nudge the cats out of my lap with her nose! LOL ! PRAYERS for the people & animals in Australia! 😢♥️🐕🐱🕊😇

The store had an awful smell like the place wasn’t properly cleaned and cared for. Didn’t look at all the animals but half of the beta fish on the shelve were dead or dying. Got to the tanks and there were half dead fish in the tanks that the other fish were nibbling on. The employee reached into the tank without cleaning her hands, not only that but put a sick fish into another tank so now the other tank will be infected. The birds cage was nasty with nats and bugs flying around everywhere. That place should NOT sale animals.

Comprehensive inventory for pet lovers. Courteous staff. I wish someone on staff could be more knowledgeable about technical/dietary aspects of various products offered. I have a tiny dog with food allergies. The food I was purchasing at store no longer worked for her. I asked for recommendations, employee offered very little assistance, and I left without purchasing. The chows are too expensive to make wrong choices! Another occasion I was looking for a grooming tool, need assistance, received very little help, purchased nothing. You wonder why I keep trying . . .

They have me Pets supplies choose from. They always try to assist customers promptly. They have mice to feed your snakes. They have many live reptiles Etc to pick from. They have pet grooming services. Saltwater freshwater fish. Dog treats you can purchase individually or by the pound. Hamsters, hamster cages , guinea pigs, sometimes rabbits. For the pet lover this is a great place to go.

Staff is rude and act as though it bothers them to help you. They will literally walk by you at the fish wall a hundred times. We ask about a certain kind of fish and the worker said she didn't know then simply walked off. You literally lost a major fish sale tonight because your employees were more interested in standing around talking about the ball game playing on the radio than doing thetheir job and helping a customer.

The people are sweet but the place where the cats are held is ridiculous, sad, unsanitary, and horrifying. There's dried up (not through the day kind of dried up. Weeks kind of dried up) poop. I almost wonder how those cats aren't laying around with crusty eyes and nose from the cesspool of bacteria lingering in it. The cages are just as bad because they are, at least, running free within that room. No wonder there's an abundance of cats. No one wants to bring a cat home that is sick and currently living in those conditions except someone who is trying to save where they can. I'm extremely bewildered that Pet Depot would allow that to happen. It is a representation of the store. Someone who knows how to report that and will, please do! No one should bring any animals there or children of any age!

Went into pet depot today and the customer service was HORRIBLE! Never got asked if we needed help the girl at the front desk gave us a horrible attitude and didn’t seem like she wanted to help at all (and we only had three things for her to ring up) Actually she acted like we were more of a nuisance and bothering her and not like we were customers. Would not recommend anyone going here unless they had to. Believe me we wouldn’t if our dogs would eat any other dog food!

Today was the first time I've ever been in pet depot. My name is Paula. I bought 2 axolotls from there today that needed some help.The pros:1. The store was clean2. The Male manager (I didn't get his name) as well as the other employees were very nice.3. I love that they carry Eartborn holistic cat food. I hope they start sticking more than 2 of the 14 pound bags at a time. If they start sticking more I will buy from them rather than ordering. Typically I order 5 or 6 bags at a time.4. The Male manager seemed genuinely concerned about the animals. From what I gathered there use to be a person working there that was hmmm less than perfect.5. The manager that I spoke to gives me hope that with a few changes this store could be a 10 again. I hope I get to see that change so I can put a higher review for themThe cons:1. The place smelled bad. I'm sure it's just a dead mouse in the ac unit or something. That happens.2. The animals need help.A. Fish had ick (I know who they order from so I'm not shocked about that) however they need to treat the fish before they are sold.B. There were fish stocked in with non compatible fish.C. The axolotls. Apparently the guy that ordered them no longer works there which is good. Axies should not be kept with fish. Axies need a much lower water temp than the tropical fish they were housed with. They should never be kept on small rocks because they can eat them and get impacted. I'm not sure what they were feeding the axies but they are very thin. The Male manager did ask questions about how they should be cared for and I feel was actually listening. This to me is a good sign. I left my name and number and told them if they are going to keep axies there I would be more than happy to walk them through proper set up and care. I hope I hear from them.D. The leopard geckos both had very damaged tails. It looks like bite wounds rather than a simple dropped tail. I know a lot of pet stores keep Leos together however it's really not safe to do so. I would suggest up the feeding schedule. Also they need calcium powder in the enclosure with them at all times.The things that are wrong can be fixed with proper training and knowledge of the animals that are being cared for.I might just put in an application and see if I can help make this place better.
