Brooke, the Pharmacy Manager is condescending and flat out bad at her job. She is a liar and takes joy in purposefully withholding prescriptions from people who desperately need them. Brooke perverts her responsibility by taking joy in the suffering of others. Brooke should be arrested for Elder Abuse. The Pharmacy at Walgreens in Gardendale is the worst I have ever seen. Tomorrow we will take our cause to corporate. After reading these reviews it is no wonder they have the lowest rating of ANY pharmacy in Birmingham.

Went to pick up a few things today but I am appalled at this store. Can someone explain to me why ONE associate was responsible for the register while the other employees were hiding in the back?? I saw one girl running back and fourth trying to get everything done while the guy was standing around with his thumb up his butt. Why is he even employed there if he isn’t working? Devin checked me out at the register and the boy walked up at the last second to FINALLY help out but it was too late. Fire him or train him better, that’s ridiculous. And someone give that girl poor girl a raise, she was the only pleasant thing about my experience. Do better Walgreens.

Called twice to find out when my rx would be ready and they hung up on me both times. We had to switch our kids meds to a different pharmacy because their pediatrician refuses to work with them from here on out. Their customer service standards are absolutely disgusting.

My husband went in to fill a prescription and was made to feel like a drug addicted. He ran out of medication two days early and wanted to fill it with out insurance. They treated him so horribly and made him horrible.

My rating is for the pharmacy not the store portion. The store is very clean and employees nice. However the pharmacy is horrible. The pharmacy changed staff a couple months ago so the customer service is better. So I am giving them 2 stars instead of 1. However, if there is one person in front of you in line you will wait 30min minimum to pick up medicine, drive thru or walk in. My average wait time is 45min to an hour even with a pre-filled prescription that I am just picking up.They also can't find my prescription in their system. The pharmacist has to come over and find them after arguing with me that my doctor didnt send the prescription in properly. (I have multiple doctors from different offices send in prescriptions and this Walgreens magically cant find any of them.) You can imagine the waiting time adition when they cant find my prescription. Changing pharmacy because this one is so slow.

Swapping to CVS asap. Rudest service I've ever had. One young guy at the pharmacy wanted to question me why I was there twice in one week. I could understand if I was getting a narcotic but it was my SONS INHALER. I did not know Walgreens had a limit on how many times I went there. (They don't have to worry about that ever again) Today, the lady at the drive thru held up her finger to me like I was a kid, telling me to "hold on". Don't even give these rude people the time of day. If they didn't want to work with the public, they should have chosen another profession.

Constantly have issues receiving basic prescriptions that are renewed every 1 to 3 months, you would figure a pharmacy would be able to complete the bare minimum of its work, but you would be wrong. The prescriptions are never ready when they send notifications through the portal that they have finished filling them, they mess up costs from month to month somehow running the insurance wrong, and god forbid you try to call them to check on an order. If you call, you will either be put on hold for at minimum 10 minutes, or be hung up on immediately. Just today I was on hold for 50 minutes, listening to the machine call down from 3 callers ahead, 2 callers ahead, 1 caller ahead and then just immediately the call was disconnected. Called the store manager and was informed that they couldn't do anything about it as the pharmacy was closed due to workers not showing up....maybe lead with that instead of keeping people on hold indefinitely.I would honestly rather stay sick and die than continue to deal with such incompetence.

This Walgreens have the worst staff ever!! I’ve seen people come back in for receiving the wrong medication. I’ve not received my full prescription without explanation. The people who work in the front also gives me a hard time. I renewed my drivers license which apparently there is a new system for that since Gardendale DMV gave it to me on a sheet of paper;however, the logo was displayed. Walgreens wouldn’t take it because they said it wouldn’t scan when I was under the oppressive that you needed to verify the date of birth. They are full of it! I literally showed my old expired license to try to show I wasn’t lying. Went down the street to the one in Fultondale and they accepted it with no problem.

This Walgreens pharmacy is awful. Service is non-existent, even when they are not busy. Every Walgreens I’ve been in lately is not much better. And they insist on and enforce vaccine appointments whether they are busy in the pharmacy or not. Today I made an appointment for 2:15. Was not seen until 2:30. If I had wanted the 2:30 time I would have booked that appointment instead. If you are going to insist on strict appointments Walgreens then keep them! I have since switched to another pharmacy.

2 phone calls, 3 trips to Walgreens in Gardendale, Al. Only to find out what I was told every time was completely inaccurate. Still don’t have my prescription completely filled. So now there will be a forth attempt to get the rest of it. Will the information be correct this time??? (I doubt it)Bad information at every point. I strongly recommend going anywhere but this place.Don’t waste your time or your money. I will end up paying 5 times more than what it’s supposed to be because of how they partially filled the prescription.They have no interest in doing the right thing.

I was the only person in the drive through. The employee in the window was busy ,so I waited a few minutes before the drawer opened and I could tell her I was dropping off a prescription. It took a few minutes for her to look over the prescription, then drive off.I get a voicemail my prescription is ready, so I go to pick it up. I am the 3rd person in the drive through and wait 30 minutes. I give the employee my name, then my address, paid, and left within a minute. What took the 2 cars before me so long?If this was a one time thing, no problem. But this is a regular occurrence with this particular Walgreens. I only go there because Walgreens bought Rite Aid which had been my pharmacy for years.

Walgreens is My Pharmacy. I tried the CVS across the street for a couple of Months because of a bad experience with an employee at Walgreens. It was a mistake. The Head Pharmacist made everything right. CVS ended up being a bit antisocial. I got a Courtesy Call from the Pharmacist at Walgreens just last week checking on Me. The employees there are very nice and most know Me by Name. I'll never switch again.

This Walgreens is terrible. The pharmacy tells us to pick up our prescriptions at a certain time so we leave our house to go pick up, and we get there and they haven’t even STARTED making our prescription. They tell us to come back in 2 hours. All the while myself, my husband, and my 8 month old daughter are all sick and need our meds. And we don’t live ANYWHERE NEAR the pharmacy. So we can’t just go sit at home and wait, but we are all sick so we don’t feel like hanging around town for two hours. RIDICULOUS. And then the lady working the window has the audacity to be rude to my husband when he asks for her to update our insurance. We will be finding a new pharmacy after this fiasco.

We came here on Saturday 6/11/22 and arrived 2 minutes after the pharmacy closed to pick up our 4 year olds antibiotics. When we walked up to the counter, we even heard them saying “bye” to each other. One of the pharmacists stayed behind and didn’t hesitate to to fill his antibiotics. Regretfully, I forget his name. As a healthcare provider, I often see other fellow professionals burn out and lose their ability to care for others, especially nowadays when our healthcare system is overwhelmed. This man was not only helpful, but had a great attitude about it! We need more people like this pharmacist. Thanks, Walgreens, I’ll be back!

Do NOT to get a Covid vaccine here(or any other pharmacy service). I had 2 appointments scheduled for vaccines and when we arrived, there were people, standing around, no organization whatsoever, and a sign at the counter which said covid vaccination checkin. When I walked up to the counter , I was rudely told by a CUSTOMER that I was breaking in line. When I was finally was able to ask the “tech” running around giving vaccines (after about 20 minutes) how to check in for an appointment, he rudely told me I had to stand in line like everyone else and that they were extremely short handed. I also witnessed them letting people leave after vaccination without making them wait 15 minutes for a possible reaction. Totally unorganized and extremely rude staff.

I can honestly say that I have never been treated so rudely in my life. The folks in the pharmacy are insanely rude, short and condescending! I know they are super busy. I get that. But, that is no reason to act like rudely to customers. I will never, ever go into this Walgreens again.

Yesterday we made reservations to get our flu shots. So today we came in to the store early for our appointments at 12:15 And 12:30 and we are still waiting at 12:35. Now we get to fill out paperwork. And free fly shots... they charged a co-pay.

I can see why all these reviews are negative and have such a low rating. I use to get my prescriptions filled here but always had an issue when I would call to get a refill. Got tired of always having to wait for the issue to be resolved so we switched to Village Pharmacy and I have never had an issue getting any of my prescriptions refilled.

This is one of the worst pharmacies I've ever been to. And I've been to pharmacies in Mexico if that says anything. You'd think that the employees were sloths. Everything takes forever and the employees could care less. It's not uncommon to sit in the pickup line for 30 minutes with only 2 cars in front of you. Be prepared to wait even longer if you go inside.

After answering all questions asked by pharmacy cashier, I was told that I would be advised when single prescription was ready. It was apparent that the pharmacy was busy so I waited patiently in the pharmacy seating area. After approximately 40 minutes, noticing that the seating area had emptied out at least 2 times, I once again went to cashier. Original cashier wasn't there any longer so I spoke to another who looked up my request.I was told that nothing had been entered and had to once again answer basic questions. Once that was done my prescription was filled Immediately.I believe the pharmacist there are very professional but there seems to be an issue with attitude at the cashier level. Since there were several cashiers at the windows, I don't believe it was an issue of inadequate staffing.

I get almost all of my prescriptions filled here, and buy most of my vitamins here too. The pharmacy staff is very friendly and helpful. The pharmacist s will take the time to answer any of your questions even if you are not getting a prescription. I have shipped FedEx packages here occasionally.

I am a customer at the Sumiton/Dora, Al Walgreens Drugs. I have always been treated professionally and got very timely service at that store. One day last week they were out of one of my meds so they called this Walgreens at Gardendale as I happened to be in that area; they had it so I went by to pick it up. The whole staff in the pharmacy treated me horrible. Beginning with totally ignoring me when I stood at the counter for several minutes with 5-6 people working in there and no one but me at the counter! When some one finally did wait on me, my med was not ready; before all the ugliness was over they had kept me in there for over an hour while they waited on around 10-12 other customers not counting the drive thru! Much more was said and went on towards me that was not professional nor was I treated fairly, however, I have already written a book and can not say it all here so I will write headquarters. I did nothing nor said anything to them at first to deserve this treatment; but the more they pushed my buttons the more I got upset. I still held myself back to what a lot of folks would have done. This happened on the day crew July 5, 2017. Thanks for letting me rant!

It’s a very slow pharmacy. I always get calls saying my prescription is ready. I drive 30 minutes to the store, use the drive thru, which is usually 4-5 cars in line, once at window they have not filled anything and I’m asked to come back in 15-20 minutes. I really wish they’d get some kind of organization or experienced help at this location.

My insurance forces me to use Walgreens and I hate every time I go get anything for my dad since he is diabetic which means I frequently shop here to my dismay. No one should have to put up with nasty pharmacists or just staff who dont care? Called just today because we could only afford half of the insulin at the beginning of the month I call and I'm told that I didnt pick it up in a timely matter and that now the order is put back. Honestly I called for medicine not to be lectured rudely about something I cant control social security picks the day it arrives every month not me but before I could even explain she tells me I have to go get another copay dr visit to get more insulin then after talking a little more she says he has refills so which is it do I need to get my dr or does he have refills how much is it going to cost am I going to have to pay for a full prescription and she really just talked in a circle so I got off the phoneIf you dont have to use them JUST DON'T there is cvs across the street just go there it cant be any worse then this wallgreens simply not possible

I went to Walgreens Monday to pay my Alabama Power bill. Lucas that was working in the Photos department was very nice and helped me figure out how to pay it on the computer through Western Union. Thank you Lucas for being so nice and providing Great customer service!! 🌲⛄🎅🙂

I go to this Walgreens often. I hope one of the managers sees this. Brian is always a very polite, helpful, nice and patient young man. I highly recommend him. There needs to be a 'Brian' employee everywhere.

I have had a total knee replacement. I wanted to fill my Percoset prescription. Pulled in drive thru, my friend driving put the prescription in box, the tech was just standing there watching, let the prescription fly out of the box on the ground. I couldn't get out and my friend has a bad hip so that was difficult. They said it would be about 25 minutes as usual. We pulled off. Did another errand which took longer went back to Walgreens.....the same tech looks at us and says we can't fill the prescription because our system is down. Well why in the hell couldn't they call me and say they couldn't fill it? I was hurting and needed my meds. Does anybody have common sense any more? Had to get prescription and go to CVS wait another 20 minutes. I never had trouble with RITE AID IN FULTONDALE. THEIR STAFF WAS VERY SMART. I AM GOING TO SEE IF MY INSURANCE IS ACCEPTED AT THAT LOCATION WHICH IS NOW WALGREENS. SAME NAME BUT THE STAFF MAKES THE DIFFERENCE. THEY HAVE COMMON SENSE.

Prepare to wait. I received a call that they needed my updated insurance information. I called back three times. The first time I was on hold for 20 minutes before I was hung up on. The second 15 before I was hung up on and the third for 30 minutes before I was again hung up on. I head down to the store and am now currently in line and have been sitting here for 20 minutes.

RUDE!!! Always slow. Never offer to help with anything. I asked if they could call cvs across the street and see if they had something in stock and the employee’s response was “that would take me a long time, I can’t”. They will never have my business! CVS is so much better.
