Nice clean pet store. All of the animals, fish, and other critters seem well taken care of. We got our Betta Fish, Bluey here, and he's almost 3 years old.The best pet store in town for sure!

Cool pet shop. Thousands of items for about any pet you have. Guy in the tropical fish dept. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Git us what we needed and made sure to give us best price possible. Will be going back soon

Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean store and restrooms. They always have what I'm looking for and they probably have what you are looking for too. Definitely consider stopping in even if it's just to look around.They sell both live critters and animals along with items needed to care for all or most pets.

Good store, but short on help???My main complaint and why I didn't give it five stars is the store is in need of an update.And a lot of stacks of product needing to be put up and away for customers to purchase!I think this is an in-store management problem as far as product needing to be put away.But anyhow, found what I needed. That other stores don't carry!!!

I go to Petco in Florence, AL last night to get puppy food and asked if they had grooming service where my dog would not have to be put in a cage because my dog has anxiety and does not like the cage. The associate, Eli (who has always been a tremendous help in my many past experiences), told me they did and I could stay in the store while my dog was being groomed and to call in the morning.This morning I called and made an appointment with Trishanna. We arrived at the store at 9:45. I met with Trishanna and told her that my dog didn't like the cage and SPECIFICALLY told her that I wanted the "Teddy Bear" cut and SPECIFICALLY told her TWO INCHES.Several hours later, I look over to find my dog in a CAGE.Trishanna finally comes out of the office and tells me that "we aren't gonna be a good fit" because I was in the store causing my dog anxiety.Then she finally gets her out of the cage and my dog has less than a fourth inch of hair all over and has licked her privates since we walked out the door.The cut was horrible and uneven and to top off the rudeness of Trishanna.First, I will be taking my dog to her vet to check out her privates. Next, I will be writing many reviews about my experience, as well as, spreading the word while at every dog park.

Unfortunately, it has become apparent that this store has not been taking proper care of the fish department, specifically the saltwater section. We've seen that section going downhill for the last few years. Now, the tanks are completely empty (see pictures). Now, we have to drive almost two hours to get new fish, cleaning crew, or live rocks for our tank.

Very disappointing...Last year I instructed the groomer to trim ONLY paws & "exit chute" - she clipped him from nose to tail.THIS year, it took them over 4 hours as they jumped from one dog to another... we showed up after 4 hours, and hubby said he was standing for over 10 minutes before they even took our boy out to brush him. Since a groom is by appointment only, there is absolutely no excuse for this. At our normal Petco, where they are much busier, we bring both of our boys and they manage to groom BOTH dogs, plus extras, in under 2 hrs.

Someone is lying the store was nasty fish tanks was green and stinky dead fish in almost all the tanks overpriced none was around to help fish section needs shut down if no one wants to clean it or care for it I wish I could get them all and stop Petco from ever getting more

Unprofessional grooming (Michael and Leslie) and store manager present on 1/21/22 (possibly 5’3’ or so female with mid length dark brown black hair) We’ve frequented Petco for shopping in general for the better part of 12 years combined, and the Florence location for 3. We are experienced pet owners, currently with 6 dogs and 2 cats. This includes multiple animals with grooming needs including a standard poodle, border collie, schnauzer, Pomsky and Persian cat.On 1/21/22 we dropped our poodle off for a grooming appointment at 10am. No issues were conveyed. At 3:00pm - 5 hours and no phone call, we arrived at the store to check on her. The appointment was with Michael but Leslie was grooming her. She was still cutting her torso and had not yet started her legs or under belly. At 5hr 15 we asked if she had started late and how much longer. The grooming desk associate said they had been overbooked. She then went and asked Michael who came out and said they ask for a minimum of 4 hours and he had been overbooked so he had given her to Leslie. He provided no other statement or apology, only repeated 3 times they ask for 4 hrs. At 5hrs 40mins. The manager came out and said “they want me to tell you they can’t groom her anymore” with no further information. I responded it was unprofessional and we were all adults and if they had a reason they should be able to come talk to which they never did. My wife spoke with the manager at checkout who said they were not overbooked, which was untruthful based off the conversation we had both directly with Michael and the grooming desk assistant this day.We have used multiple Petco locations up and down the Eastern seaboard and never experienced such a lack of professionalism. If a groomer is unable to take constructive feedback, and in turn says they will no longer groom with lack of reason except the negative criticism of the pet owner - they no longer need our business.Our pets are our children. And for a groomer to have such lack of compassion for holding a young standard poodle for nearly 6 hours, and not having the integrity to provide accurate information to their manager to then for said manager to relay that message to their customer without any further discussion with either the customer or employees is simply uncalled for, dishonest and quite frankly not up to the standard of care we normally receive from Petco.To add - we’ve had no issues prior to this day. Michael was our groomer 2 months ago and we gave a glowing review afterwards. We had even said hello in the store since. It’s beyond disappointing to know he is unable to have a serious conversation or take any accountability as a working professional should.

The store was nasty dirty, fish area looked like someone had given up, tanks were nasty and could barely see the fish in them. Shelves were in desperate need of cleaning. Staff were nowhere to be seen.Sad that they have animals.

Good pet supply store with a friendly staff.They seem to rearrange often so you may have to do some searching to find your products.Word of warning: tge PETCO is not the best. Very difficult to navigate. While searching products on the app it will arbitrarily add them to your shopping cart without appearing in the cart.We pick up, but last week, while out of town, we received a text advising that 3 huge bags of dog food for $240 was out for delivery...these were supposedly ordered that same morning. We did not order any items, especially not for delivery.We called the store and were promptly told we couldn't cancel and we had to accept delivery, even though we were away.After being on hold for 3 minutes, we were told to call Door Dash to stop the delivery. The number they gave us was for commercial customers. Luckily, DD transferred us to the correct department, and the person there was able to cancel the order, but the store would issue the refund.We are awaiting the refund.

Always out of stock on the dog food I need and when I tried to get help on their app that the cashiers keep promoting and pushing for clients to download their response was to call customer service rather than asking a manager or making even the smallest attempt to accommodate my dilemma. Maybe I’m asking for too much but one things for sure they need better in store customer service.

Popped in for Petco-brand dog food and had to wait at the unattended registers for a few minutes while one of the 2 employees by the door saw me and casually walked over to check me out, and couldn't have been more uninterested. Never made eye contact and spoke to me with her back towards me. They could not have been less interested to assist or finalize my purchase. Should have just kept walking out the door.

I dropped off my dog at 9:45 am. I had work at 4, so I was hoping he would be done by 3 pm max. I never received a call all day. I had a friend go by and ask about him because they were not answering the phone, and they literally had him ready to go but yet they never called me. So i was sitting and waiting for a call or text that i was never going to receive obviously. Poor communication on their end.

The shelves were truly stocked up wonderfully at such a close date to Christmas. Food, accessories, toys, medicine...I was worried I wouldn't be able to get all I needed but your store really came through. Customer service was excellent as well. Many thanks!
