Just moved to the area and as it was starting to get cold 2 field mice decided to make my home their home too. (we caught them in a trap that night). the next day on Sunday afternoon went to look for a new addition to our home. We are so happy to find Gumbo( 3 months old), she completely our family pets ❤️ she also will have a job and that's is to keep the field mice out.

The new shelter is a huge step up from the old one. They are extremely short staffed and do their best with the help of volunteers to run the place. It is a full time gig just keeping the place clean. Please be patient on your visit and know that they are doing all they can. Advocate for more funding so they can hire more employees! I volunteer here to take dogs out on “doggies day out” to get them outside the shelter. I can tell every time I come in that the staff is very busy. They don’t have time for a lot of small talk because they are doing a difficult job. Just know that they definitely care! The animals come first and this is a wonderful place to adopt a pet.

The last couple of years I have gotten these two adorable and loveable puppies. I would definitely recommend. The staff really care about the animals and are very helpful. Rescue is the way to go!

This is Axel he is a Loving Happy dog we got Axel From the Shelter he was Returned 3 times prior to us ADOPTING him We didn't adopt him he adopted us he is now in a forever home we have had him for almost a year. And we don't know what we would do without him. We love love him so much. He loves other animals and loves to play fetch and wrestling with my grandson... HE'S a BIG BABY...

I was told a foster dog got along with cats and dogs. I spent 72 hours trying different forms of introduction ..no help. I had to take the dog back and I felt as though I got reprimanded for the shelter misinforming me of the dog's behavior. This shelter also has heartworm positive animals not being treated in the shelter. Lack of land, room and funding.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had an appointment that we made the pick out a cat. It didn't take us long at all to go through the process to adopt a cat.

This place is a joke honestly sure some of them love there jobs but to me it seems like they just want to push the animals out so they dont have to worry about it. I got my cat there back in June and when I got her she was so sick and underweight my vet said I'm surprised shes still alive. They literally had 10 kittens in one cage..that means all those other cats were sick to. They told me she has been reworked nope, she could not gain weight bc she had worms. I have called them over 10 times and left message after message, so finally I just went up there they told me to come to drop the cat off so she could get sprayed and neutered. Just left there and I am highly ticked off. Wait just to be told were not going to Huntsville tomorrow, why didn't someone call me then? I drove an hour away to get her there...y'all are just sad for real

This place has had a much deserved upgrade. While I can't adopt another cat right now, its awesome knowing we can go in any time & love on all of them as long as we want❤🐱

They were all very nice. They helped me when I needed it the most!!! I would recommend anyone who would like to adopt a pet to go there. All of their animals are truly taken care of.

Its good to foster puppies but if you fall in love with them and want adopt them try to tell them that you are going to adopt them especially a child with special needs who need a puppy and you take that away from them its not right. Taking a puppy away from special needs is rude and mean when they want to adopt a foster puppy especially a blue pit when blue pit can grow up and protect the child with special needs including at school.

Seems like animals a well taken care of. It's the employees that just give off this I wish I was anywhere else kinda vibe. Been there sever time over the past 2 months and they have been 0 help

They seem to care for their animals but they need more help. The animal area smells so badly that it's hard to walk in and the animals that are being held for legal reasons are next to the gentle looking strays. We need to fund this so we can help our animals.

Rude. Walked in to see if they had the free kittens promotion still going on so I could take one home. The lady at the desk didn't even look at me and said "what do you need" I asked her if there was any kittens for free left. She said no. $85. And I said oh? She made me so uncomfortable I didn't even want to ask anymore questions so I left.

I adopted a dog in January and it appears that we either have the wrong records or they were falsified. Sadly, our new companion has heart worm and hookworm, both of which were reported as negative. And the chip that the dog was supposed to have doesn’t exist. Florence Animal Control does not return calls, which is making it seems as though it is really one step above a puppy mill, in addition to spreading disease across the U.S.

Behind the counter where most of the time everyone is nice this person act as if she could care less if I was there or not maybe needed some time off!!??
