I adopted a dog named Elvis. We changed it to Tucker. He is soooo sweet and gentle. He is super needy and howls forever if you put him in a kennel or leave him in a room over 30 seconds. I am sure he will get over that in time. He is very very polite and potty trained already. He knows sit and lay down. We have had him since March 5th. We live him so much!

I now believe the Haven has angels working there. Kim is one, and she answered a prayer for me by introducing Emmy to me, a 10 year old Yorkie rescue. Emmy now is a member of my family and we couldn't be happier or more thankful. Thank you to Kim and the Haven! Mary Michael

Brought bath towels and hand towels for donation. I was made very welcome and thanked by multiple staff and volunteers.I had tried to call and check this was actually a donation they needed, but they are very very busy and their phone is probably overwhelming.They are doing important work and are very caring.They do accept towels as well as sheets, pillowcases, blankets and comforters (no down please).

I'm so thankful that the Haven exists. They do incredible work and Save thousands of lives every year. We recently adopted a sweet Kitty from them. He has become the light of my life and my best friend. It was a wonderful adoption experience and all of the Haven workers or amazing. They allowed me to borrow their kennel and return it the next day so that my cat would not be afraid in the car. I recommend the Haven to anyone looking to adopt a pet.

I am so impressed with The Haven! Such an amazing shelter with an equally amazing staff!! They are so dedicated and professional and treat all the fur babies as if they were their own. They really care and are so knowledgeable about about caring for an adopted pet. I had such a positive experience adopting and recommend anyone considering adding an additional “family member”, go to the Haven first! I can’t say enough positive things about Haven!!

Today my son and I brought in two strays that we found last night. Our dog pack didn't mingle well with them and I didn't know what to do. Even though they were full, Mike brought them in. It was an honest God moment for me. He was so kind and understanding. I was so worried we would be turned away. Amazing shelter with an amazing staff. Thank you so very much for today!!

If you want to make people jump through hoops, you don’t care about getting these babies adopted. Went once, during business hours, (NOT during lunch) no one was there. Went a second time and was asked to fill out an app and COME BACK hours later… I was ready to take a baby home. I’ll fine one through Facebook before I do this again.

I had apply 4 times to adopt a pet. I even apply 2 times for one pet. I get that the pet list can change. It seems like it changes automatically after I send in the application. The first two dogs I tired to get was gone do quickly. I have to watch the list contently daily. One was added a day before it gotten taken. And proof gone. It's getting very draining and sad specially when you put your whole heart into finding a precious furry friend. I will still try just shorts disappointed it like a struggle for the number one spot

Everything about adopting our newest dog was pleasant at The Haven. The staff was great. Polite and friendly. You can tell they genuinely care about what they do. The facility was very clean and the dogs were all clean as well. 10 out of 10!

My fur baby went missing, so I contacted the Haven. Mike was very sympathetic and helpful, he got me signed up on lostmykitty.com and made a missing flyer for me to post. Thanks to his help my cat was home the next day!

I had to call with questions about rehoming a found kitten. My questions were answered and I got some good advice that helped me in my search. They followed up by email and were genuinely caring and helpful. (I did find a loving forever home for her <3 )In the past I’ve adopted senior dogs from the Haven and just have nothing but respect and appreciation for their mission.

Real old-timey feed & seed, nice folks who run it. Besides the usual selection of a similar store they also have an esp good selection of bird houses of all types, different kinds of bird feed incl exotic pet & wild bird feed, as their resident talkative macaw will attest. I adopted my kitty cat there as they also work with the Baldwin County Cat Alliance to show various pets available for adoption.

I love the Haven and support their efforts fully however, if you advertise your hours online and post them on your door, it would be great for you to be open durring those hours. Drove to the facility at normal business hours and they were closed. Very frustrating. No sign on the door or anything saying when or if they would be back today.

A streamlined experience with extremely carrying Personnel that were wonderful to work with! The camels are very clean, the office it's nice and sorted, and the wealth of personality from pet to person is in abundance. I highly suggest for pet adoption needs, contacting them.

They told me I was not approved for the kitten I wanted, but could chose from a group of others because I waited until I was financially able to provide proper care for a pet. I adopted from the Straylove Foundation. They were great.

We got there by chance looking for a girl bulldog or pitbull. We fell in love with all of the animals but Rufus took our heart. This is a great friendly no kill shelter. Their people are helpful and made our experience easy and enjoyable. If we adopt again this will be the place we will do it from.

This is the most unorganized shelter I have ever used. They never answer the phones, when you leave a message they will not call you back and most of the time the voicemail is full. They are never open the hours that are listed on the door. The girl that will sometimes answer is very rude and complains that she is doing a job for three people. I hope they get some help soon.

Obviously overwhelmed staff. You have to follow up on each step. Approval, adoption, vet appointment for getting animal fixed, and to get deposit back after our pet had gotten fixed.It's very chaotic, but our puppy is healthy and happy.

I love the Haven because that's where I got my dog, Gracie! They have a lot of good sweet dogs, and keep the kennels really clean. I would recommend this place to anyone who would want a dog.

Today I found out that my baby Haze which I have had for almost 13 years, had a broken leg!!!!! They took X-rays today to see why she isn’t pooping or eating. And then boom looky here. The vet even asked if this was even my cat!!!! The Haven refrained from telling me that at the time of her adoption!!!!!!! Not good. Not good at all. If I didn’t take my baby to the vet because of her constipation, I would have never known. Tacky. I only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 because Haze is one of the two reasons I love my life and how she has made it so much better with her unconditional love and affection.
