Excellent Pet Store, very well managed. I have purchased many beautiful and healthy fish and aquatic plants here. Decent selection of varied species of pets.This store always seem to stock everything I need for my aquariums.Very clean shop and the associates are very knowledgeable and friendly.I highly recommend this store.

I adopted a beautiful black kitty from Pet Supermarket. I had her for a week and I took her to the vet for a check up because she had surgery for a hernia. When I adopted her from Pet Supermarket they told me and had on the paper she was 3 years old and had nothing else wrong with her. When I took her to the vet for a check up; This poor cat was NOT 3 years old she was 7 to 10 years old, half of her teeth were rotting, she had muscle loss in both of her back legs, and they wanted to test her for FIV. I was devastated. All they told me was they just write down what the people that bring in the cats from the shelters tell them to. Please be careful when adopting pets from here. I don’t believe anyone really cares for these animals. They just want to get rid of them. I will never return here for any needs of any kind after this experience.

Love this place if you have animals or what animals this is the place to go. My cat is on a strict diet and this is the only place in Dothan Al that carries different varieties and are a good price compared online! If you need any reptile advice or cats i highly recommend u ask for Ryan. Great customer service and the store is amazing and for a pet store it’s super clean

Pretty good selection, prices vary. They have cheaper higher end aquarium filters than competitors yet most of their dog food is marked up. Employees are a toss up. Some are eager to help and make friendly conversation. Others should've just not bothered showing up.

We go here often. I've bought a Chubby frog who we've lovingly named Chunk from this establishment. We go back often for crickets and to pet the bunnies and ferrets. They also have lots of snacks that our sweet dogs adore. And the people who work there are always so kind and helpful ✨ 😊

Three dogs, 2 cats equals large food bills. I was pleased to find Pet Supermarket offers price matching. I enjoy my Main Street Store. The management and staff are always, I mean always polite, professional, positive and happy to assist in every way. The store features a wide variety of everything you'll want for all kinds of pets. Adoptable kitties will melt your heart. Low cost vaccines are available monthly. We love this store. Thank you.

The prices were right in line with what I found at online stores but I was able to really see and touch the items which helped me visualize what would work best for our new Guinea pig setup. The store was clean and inviting for bringing your furry friends. The customer service at this store has been phenomenal the both times I've been here. They were knowledgable and very patient to answer all the questions I had. I would typically give 5 stars for all this greatness but the one drawback is that they were out of stock of some items both times I went and couldn't really say when they'd be back in stock. That very well may not be in their control with all the supply-chain issues these days. Even so, this is a new favorite store for me!!

I went tonight in search of a pleco (algae eater) for my aquarium. I was upset by the condition the tanks and fish are kept in. Not only did multiple tanks have dead, decomposing fish that were in the process of being eaten by other fish, but crowding and ammonia burn was evident as well. SOOOO many fish were crowded into one tank, especially the goldfish. I've always loved Oranda goldfish, as well as fancy tail goldfish, and was disheartened to find them amongst the crowding. No one ever approached to offer help, but did at least tell us to have a goodnight on the way out of the door. Pet Supermarket- if people cannot be properly trained and provide adequate supplies for animals, INCLUDING fish, just don't carry them. It's not fair to customers or the pets (including aquatic) that people go to purchase.

New Management? Not sure but whatever happened to the store it's A+ across the board. The workers are happy and atmosphere is relaxed. I think I've spotted a couple new big brands in the premium food trade as well. If y'all are local we all remember the door that was never fixed lol. Well it's fixed and so many of the little things inside are better too. They've impressed me with add ons and I'm already ready to go back.

Refused to help with getting fish when asked because she was training a new employee as she stated she had to stay in the front of the store. I started to walk out and she happily walked to the back of the store to help a customer with dog food.. 🤯 will never go back.. nice to see employees have options on what they want to do instead of helping the customer

I arrived at the store at 7:45pm and felt a little bad because it was 15 minutes until the store was about to close but when I walked in to flag down workers to grab me a live mouse from the back, I was told to ask someone else twice and I did not appreciate the way I was talked to. I would like to acknowledge that I had explicit good service once, but every time felt off putting.

It works if your in a pinch and need pet food on the go, but it is on the pricey side of things. It's not right that the cats they sell sit in it's cage 24/7. They look extremely depressed. None of the pets they sell get natural daylight. It's just sad, they could do much better in caring for the animals they sell.

I got my newest fur baby from here. It is a marshell ferret demusked fixed and has all of its shots. Because they are marshell ferrets they are hand raised and bred to be docile. They are also checked to make sure they dont have any defects. Pet supermarked also carried EVERYTHING i needed ro set my sweet baby up.

I used to go for the variety of fish available but that has rapidly gone down hill. It's always the same ole same ole now and rarely does my store have what I'm looking for. I asked the manager to order an oto for me and when I went in tonight I saw that she in fact had. It took 20 minutes to find out if there was anyone able to help me with getting some fish and once I did find a mere 2 employees they were bickering with each other and then seemed bothered by my wanting to purchase fish. The person who helped refused to sell me minnows stating they're feeder fish and they don't sell feeders because they feed them to store critters. I've purchased them from here before, yes you do sell them! I asked for 5 tiger barbs to which he asked what those are. I pointed them out and he bagged them. Realized when I got home that I paid for 6 but only actually got 4 anyway. I asked for 5 cherry barbs and was sold 1 because it was the only one in the store (despite the tank next to the tank it was in being full of them). I bought 5 feeder goldfish instead of the minnows and he was so eager to get rid of them that I was given 8! And, back to my oto, he refused to sell it to me claiming it was actually an SAE and they don't belong in community tanks. Huh? I've looked forever for an SAE and all anyone ever carries are CAE's. I even asked to order an SAE but have always been told they couldn't be found. Even online stores don't carry them so the chances of you guys having a sole SAE (in a tank of goldfish) is slim to none. Nonetheless, I have a CAE in all 6 of my tanks and have no issues. But regardless, what I pointed out was an Oto anyway that I requested last week and your employee wouldn't sell it to me. I realize this is a high school kid kinda job but a little bit of training goes a long way!

I love the staff here and and I love the stuff that they have for my furry friends.. However, comma if there is someone out there that is needing a job who knows how to take care of reptiles please make them hire you are you. No one I talked to today know how to take care of any of the reptiles they have. I'm not a reptile expert myself but I do know a snakes shed is not supposed to come off in peaces.

I came in to get new fish for my daughter and while standing back there a woman approached me and asked how I was, I replied good then she walked away Instead of asking if I need help! And she was on her phone! Her tag said store manager above her name LAUREN so I stood for ten more minutes waiting when an associate named Stephanie came and asked if I needed help. She was able to give me better recommendations and you could tell this girl was passionate about her job, gave me lots of info and helped me quickly. I can’t believe a store manager would act like this, I’m only giving two stars for the nice girl who helped me

Wonderful store. Employees and atmosphere great. There is a groomer there, I'm sure all of them are good. I just used Amanda. She is so good with the animals. My stubborn dogs would let her do anything. She is up on all the different cuts and will go out of her way to show you pictures of them. Great place

I used to shop there alot but it's gone downhill as far as I am concerned. The good inventory of pet foods us the only reason I give it three stars. Everything else was subpar. No one offered to help me and it was hard locating things. It was not easy getting someone to assist. Alot of items weren't clearly marked and it was extremely overpriced. There were no pets in the store for purchase except birds. Very disappointed at how poorly the store was stocked other than pet food. Dog toys, etc were lacking.

Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Fish section is well maintained and tanks are kept clean. A few dead fish here and there, but nothing unexpected. If you're going to use a chain pet store in Dothan, I'd recommend this one.

Was there 4/28, just getting a chance to do this review. Not forthcoming to offer any help. And when asked for help, all 3 workers looked at each other like deer in headlights and did not have a clue as to whether they had what I needed or not. Did not have what we wanted, which was an actual buckle collar not a quick release.
