The Dollar General on Selma Street beside Piggly Wiggly in Dothan was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced while shopping ever in life, a 1 rating is too generous to give them. Saturday afternoon July 15th around 5:30 I walked in the store and asked the Cashier whose name was Selena where was the carts, she answered with her charming personality and said outside, so I walked back outside and there were no carts outside. I walked back inside the store and there were no carts inside, so I walked over by the makeup section and saw a cart she was using to stock with and so I unloaded it and was going to shop with it. I’m 59 years old and there was no way to shop without a cart. Selena then comes over and says ma’am that’s my cart I use it to stock with, I said I understand that but I’m a Customer trying to shop and I needed a cart you can have it back as soon as I’m done. She walked over and told Brittney whom I assumed was her shift supervisor or manager and she proceeded to say ma’am that’s her cart and again I said I’m a Customer and needed a cart to shop with, I loaded 3 12 packs of Cokes and a few other items in the cart, I asked what their name were that I planned on calling the District Manager and they freely gave their names, they went on and my husband walked up so I then told them that they could have the cart and all my items inside. They were the 2 of the worst people I’ve ever dealt with while shopping and I lived in several different states and even another Country. I hope they don’t treat their regular customers that shop in that store this way I can’t understand why she made it a big issue and she was going to get the cart back after I was done with it. Dollar General please stop hiring people that don’t respect their customers.What ever happened to the customer is always right. Selena and Brittney take notes from DG in front of Southeast Health some of the busiest yet friendliest people around!!!

I don't know what has happened to this company. They never have stocked shelves, roll cages on the floor, new stock stacked everywhere but no one working stock. In this time with everything going on you would think a company would give them hours so this stuff can be done. How do you expect to make money if you can't afford to give hours so stock can be worked out. I worked as a supervisor for this company for almost 3 yrs. They do not care about the employees.

Great store to shop for low prices and has a variety if everything. Cashiers are friendly and management is excellent. Very helpful and pleasant. I shop Dollar General frequently. My kinda store, food, shoes, clothes, drinks, medicine, household goods and cleaners and a whole lot more!! I LOVE IT!!! FAVE STORE! ONE STOP SHOP!!!

This Dollar General on Selma Street by the Piggly Wiggly and I'm sure it's at the other ones too in Dothan Alabama, they'll have a price tag on the shelf and is clearly the item that it's talking about on the price tag but when you go to the register it brings up something different more it's always more I saw there's some class action lawsuits going on about Dollar General Walmart charging more than they're supposed to do on items so this one here should be in the class action lawsuit is well and it's several times that it just happened to me I am in the process of calling corporate as we speak

I love that they offer online shopping with store pick up but they need to train there staff better because a few times I when to pick up my items, the employee will be lost in what to do in the machine, there should be some kind of machine attached to the pickup area, that will allow us to just go up to the machine n check out the items without having to wait for an employee. Dollar general needs to update there store pick up, asap bc if is a no wait pick up I shouldn't have to wait for an employee to figure out there equipment....

Lines can be long. Inventory often scattered on sales floor. Like any other Dollar General I have visited, under staffed to shelf inventory and meet cashier and other customer demands. Prices are reasonable for certain products though.

I live close to this Dollar General so I shop at this store quite frequently. The service has always been good and the employees pleasant. BUT.......I went there last week, May 14, and I made it to this store by 7:50pm and the new store hours have them closing at 8:00pm. The manager this night closed the doors and had the cash register closed out by 7:50 and they would not let me in. How disappointing that was to know this store did not abide by the store hours. They saw me at the door and would not let me in.Not very good publicity for this store or the manager for this night.

I say it's a great place to shop but the services is to slow like really if I have to do a quick run in don't stop there will not be quick. I just wish people stop rubbing them it's close home

Store can look a little remodel but great workers , I come in all the time their my after work buddies . Cashier she’s always friendly and nice move pretty quick and is very helpful with everything!! Love it

Really a great store! Somewhat neat and organizing! Just need to get better on sales meaning 2 for so and so....and red dots and much more but overall a great store to get all thinhs needed.

I don't know where they find the people that work here but they are rude. Can't hardly answer any questions and when they do, good luck understanding them because all they do is mumble and speak quietly and act like they just don't want to be there. Do yourself a favor and go to any other Dollar general in town.

Not organized at all. I think they need more stockers. Out was a mess. They did have what I needed and the check out person was delightful.

Don't visit here much, usually really quick to get in and out of. But the store more times than not. Is a mess. I don't blame the staff. I just believe it's because they aren't enough staff to take care of it.

Dollar General on Selma St was great tonight..the employees were very nice with a smile on thier face...I shopped on the clearance isle and the $1 isle and both had a good selection ..I got dog food,soap,food,and all from these two isles...good job DG

EVERY DG I've been in has poorly stocked shelves and aisles full of priduct... you can't sell the things people can't get to.

Very rude and unfriendly cashier when she yelled across the store for a child with a see through back pack, to leave his backpack at the desk. Totally too loud!

Was pleasantly surprised that they had most everything in stock. Most local stores have about half of their merchandise in stock. Kudos! 🌻

Charged me for items then failed to put them in the bag. Didn’t notice till I got home. Tried to call the store and of course, no one answered. They were too busy talking to care to do their jobs.

This dollar general is horrible no customer hospitality everything I needed is on metal rack unstocked while there is a employee smoking a cigarette outside and acted like I was the problem for needing the merchandise on the rack will never go back i will go way out of my way to never go back there just shop there and see for yourself
