With all the good reviews I was disappointed. The sides were good, slaw and potato salad great. Ribs were tough on outside like they had been in warmer too long. Had a hard crusty exterior which was like leather and not edible. I cannot believe this is the same place others raved about the ribs. Probably the worst ribs I’ve had anywhere.

Based on the review rating we decided to give it a try during our one night in town. We opted for a slab of ribs, a pound of pulled pork and the coleslaw. It was all fantastic! The ribs were tender and moist with just the right amount of sauce. The pork was finely pulled and moist with a great flavor. The coleslaw was super finely shredded with the perfect combination of creamy and sweet without being too sweet. We will be back the next time we are in town.

Okay barbeque but the okra and chicken wrap is good!Owner is friendly but her staff isnt always friendly.Update 1/24/24... chicken sandwich was good as usual, noticed a decrease in size (width). However, Some of my fries were cold, not room temperature but cold?

I enjoyed the food the quality was great the ribs met my expectations my only complaint was the quantity I purchased a sandwich and a plate and they both came with the same amount my only complaint is the number of bones I received. Overall the food was great and I will definitely go again!

Traveling for business across 7 states in the SE mostly on secondary roads. Needed some BBQ and this looked like the kind of place I needed on my route.Got a brisket plate, collard greens and beans, very good. Out of sausage but should have got some ribs, too.My wife is the BBQ expert as we gave hit the top 75 places across Texas and I brought her no leftovers, still 2 more days to get home. I would put it in our top 15 so far.And killer cornbread !

Absolutely THE BEST BARBECUE I have ever had! We had a pulled pork sandwich, ribs, slaw and beans. It was all fabulous! We had to take a pound of pulled pork to go along with their delicious slaw. We will definitely be back on our next trip through Demopolis!

2023 One Year Later: same order and totally different experience. Worst BBQ in a long time!Ribs, potato salad and beans, served with a side of extra thin sauce. Tough, burnt outer layer of meat with layers of fat you have to scrap away. Beans were straight from the cheapest can, no seasoning, no simmering. Potato salad was diced potatoes drowning in some sour cream and dill dressing.So disappointed. $38.50Sad, sad, sad. New owners or new chef? Don’t know but waste of money.So sorry this place changed so much2022: Holy moly! Best BBQ in a long time!Ribs, potato salad and beans, served with bread and side of extra sauce. Fall off the bone ribs, with all of the smokey goodness and bit of char. Homemade potato salad and beans.Perfect, perfect, perfect! And great friendly service. Low and slow to perfection.Definitely a must stop and enjoy place!

On a road trip through Demopolis, searched for somewhere to have lunch. A Slab and More came up first. There’s a reason why! We had brisket that was the best I’ve ever had! Absolutely delicious, You can’t go wrong with their sides either. Would have loved to try everything on their menu but with their generous portions there’s no room, lol, .wished they were closer to home! I highly recommend this place!!

This is hands down the best BBQ restaurant in Demopolis! Don't waste your time at the others! You can actually taste the smoke in the meat and all of it is delicious! I've never had a bad experience here due to high friendly the staff is and how quick they get the food out to you. If you're ever there and they have banana pudding, make sure you grab some because you want regret it!

Great traditional barbecue joint. Very nice people too. The plate comes with white bread and sauce (Dreamland style). The potato salad and Brunswick stew were exceptional. The pulled pork was a tad crisp for my taste, but was very good. I would definitely go here again and I look forward to trying more menu items.

Everything was delicious. The BBQ pork, the BBQ sauce, as well as the banana pudding just yummy. Bought the homemade BBQ sauce to take home. And yes the food price was more then reasonable. The staff was also very friendly. Definitely a place to frequent.

So on lunch break, I ordered a loaded spud (NO BACON) and a side salad (No BACON). This is my FIRST experience with A Slab And More. I sent a coworker to pick up the lunch, she specifically told the staff upon pickup no bacon. So I’m eating and halfway through, BAM! Bacon. The spud was good at first but was ruined with the bacon. I called the restaurant to make them aware. The staff stated that they scraped the bacon off but some pieces must’ve been left behind my lunch was ruined, and the receptionist on the phone wasn’t very receptive to the idea that you should remake a dish rather than scraping off toppings that a customers doesn’t like or specifically asked to be omitted. She did however apologize and offer a credit. I just want them to communicate to the kitchen that if someone doesn’t eat something for religious reasons or whatever reason, you should remake the dish.The side salad was good 😌

The food, omg the food! Tender, flavorful ribs and chicken, crispy catfish, okra, and fries, mouthwatering potato salad and baked beans. This is a small eatery on a back street but it is well worth the stop. We even got beans and potato salad to go after our meal. The cook didn't like how one of my pieces of fish looked so he tossed it and made another one. The service was friendly and the prices reasonable.

Delicious! I've eaten inside and takeout and both were nice and hot and well-seasoned. I had the catfish plate. Catfish plate was excellent. Sides were nice and hot! Friendly service! I'll be back often!
