Skinners Seafood is amazing! Their seafood steam was so delicious! We had snow crab legs, fresh shrimp, red potatoes, and corn on the cob. They were all cooked to prefection. They are friendly and fast! We didn't think it, though, cause we were passing through and didn't have any utensils or a crab cracker; however, we improvised and ate it at a small park nearby. Thank goodness we had a roll of paper towels, an extra beach towel, and a single dude wipe in the car. It was super delicious. My kid and I ate it all, and it was totally worth the beach towel casualty (which we threw away cause we didn't want the smell in the car for the rest of our trip) and sticky fingers till we could find a place to wash our hands. We will definitely come back... next time we'll be more prepared for sure!

Fresh seafood, 😍 what else can you ask for! Make sure to grab a steamer tray while you’re there. The snow crab & shrimp were so good and in the words of my daughter, “this is the best corn on the cob ever!”

Coming from a south Louisiana boy who loves his seafood this place got it going on!!! I wish we would’ve heard of it before our last night here but we will be back. If you’re looking for seafood on dauphin island or nearby this is no doubt the place to be! They got it all. Much appreciated fellas

This was our first visit to Skinner’s, and it did not disappoint! Delicious seafood and sides. And that shrimp+crab gumbo was great! Fresh, ready on time, pleasant and efficient staff, and decent prices for 4lbs of Alaskan Snow Crab legs, 2lb potatoes, and corn on the cob. The seasoning was delicious. We really have nothing negative to say about this place!

I wanted to eat here EVERY NIGHT!!!! fresh fresh fresh seafood, steamed to perfection, with a side of red potatoes and corn. All at a very reasonable price. The scallops just fall apart in your mouth- soooo good! Crab legs were delicious!! Love it!

My wife needed fresh shrimp for her boil so we had to stop in. Customer service was great... The gentleman (might have been the owner) was courteous, respectful and knowledgeable. Typical fish market on the inside but everything was clean and organized. No bad bad fishy odor throughout the premises. We go back we'll definitely shop there again.

What an amazing spot for incredibly fresh seafood on Dauphin Island. We stopped by here probably too many times during our trip, it was just that great. We tried a huge variety of steamed seafood including scallops, snow crab, crab claws, oysters, and lobster tails, but the show stealer was by far the Argentinian Royal Reds that they keep in the freezer. They are deveined/butterflied and come in 2lb bags, and after having them steamed I enjoyed the tastiest, sweetest, plumpest shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. I think over the course of the week we ate ~10 lbs of these guys. Friggin amazing!Be wary, if you are a fan of seafood (particularly shellfish) you may find yourself dropping a lot of $$ to try everything that there is to offer — and it will be worth every penny!

We got the steamed dinner with shrimp, royal reds, snow crab legs, sausage, corn and potatoes and it did not disappoint. The mild spice level had a nice little kick to it and it was absolutely amazing. The best crab legs I’ve ever had. Well worth it.

This is a great place. First thing, this is not a sit-down restaurant. Skinner's is a seafood market. They offer fresh seafood caught from the Gulf such as red fish, red snapper, varieties of shrimp, scallops, and much more. Skinner's will steam the seafood for you, and they also offer call in orders for pickup. They sell spices, breading and other things that you can purchase for preparing seafood if you want to cook it yourself. Their health grade is a 99, and it's posted on the back wall with two previous ratings of 99. I ordered the red snapper, and shrimp, and a side of coleslaw and corn on the cob. The fish and shrimp were fresh, very good, and the slaw was too. The corn on the cob was nothing special, but I wasn't there for the corn. If you're looking for something different besides waiting in line for a restaurant this would be a good option.

We called ahead and ordered snow crab, blue crab (spicy and mild), sausage, potatoes, corn, and chowder. The food was ready right on time. Everything was delicious. Although the spicy crab was good, the heat was enough to obscure the sweet crab a bit. The mild was perfect. Our chowder was obviously prepared fresh, with large chunks of crab and shrimp. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone else stopping at Dauphin Island.

It’s been 3 years and I still can’t get the coleslaw out of my mind. In my 42 years on this earth, I’ve never had better.Also, the crab claws are out of this world. Will get some of those when I drive half way across the country to get more of that slaw.

Fantastic! We ordered ahead early, snow crab, medium and jumbo shrimp and baby red potatoes. We showed up earlier than planned and they had our order steamed to perfection very quickly. We also ordered the crab/shrimp bisque which was the best we've ever eaten! Lastly, the coleslaw, also very delicious!Helpful, friendly staff! We will definitely be back!

I ordered 1/2 lb of oysters and scallops. This is not 1/2 lb of oysters. The service was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. Especially the mother and son. The corn was the only decent thing in my platter.

I ordered the shrimp plate for lunch on my only full day on the island, and it was steamed and served up quickly. It had about 20 shrimp. If I had been able to spend more time on the island, I would've gone back to work my way through the menu!

Great for lunch. A half pound of steamed shrimp, potatoes and corn on the cob. Ready in a few minutes for less than $10. Take out, no dine in.

Decent selection of seafood. They sell large "red" shrimp, which are heads off. They may be the Argentina (pink) royal red variety, not as sweet. Prices are about what you would expect. The folks in the shop are all very friendly. This is a must stop while vacationing nearby. They will steam your selection if you don't want to cook.

Really delicious food and reasonable prices. Service was good. They got us in and out pretty quickly. We didn't get pictures because it was too good to wait! We got some frozen crab stuffed mushrooms, crawfish boudin, and had gulf shrimp, royal red shrimp, scallops, blue crab claws, potatoes, and corn steamed in spicy flavor and it was all delicious and plenty of food for 7 people! We also got some frozen seafood bisque we haven't tried yet, but most reviews said it was a must try.

This place is absolutely amazing! We stayed at Dauphin Island for a week and went here 3 times. The fish was absolutely delicious and their steamer dishes were great. On our way out the kind gentleman brought the cooler back to our camper on our way out of town. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much for your kindness and recommendations!

I don’t think I’ve ever been treated this rudely at a place of business ever! There must have been 6-7 workers, they all ignored me for 15 minutes while no one was even in there. I purchased 2 pounds of medium shrimp that I was not shown and they were placed in a black bag. When I went to cook them they were the size of bait shrimp, smaller than popcorn shrimp. I should have left when I realized how rude they were all being and ignoring me. I felt like I was in a bad horror movie like wrong turn. Never again.
