I’m glad the old manager is gone. The girls there now have the freedom to care for the animals the way they need to. I didn’t forget about Isaac. You guys continue loving animals and research to be even better keepers. Thanks for not pushing sales and caring about the animals.

Update-I got a phone call from the store manager the very next morning after this review. She reviewed the camera footage and agreed that Sara's coworkers were absolutely not doing what they should have been. She assured me that she would have a talk with the employees in the wrong and definitely give Sara praise. This is not how her store is ran and asked if there was anything she could do to make my experience better. I don't usually do reviews, but this particular experience hit me. However, the way it was handled by the store manager was exceptional! I have changed my review from 1 to 3 stars and the next time I visit if I see a difference it will go up. Good job pet depot for acknowledging a real complaint and having intentions of correcting it!The one star is for Sara... She was the only employee helping customers while her other 3 Co workers sat on their behinds! She even waved at them to get help. This girl deserves a raise, bonus, letter of recognition... Something! This is not OK at any job and shouldn't be OK for her. To make matters even worse she gets in trouble if she says something about it. I will always be specifically asking for Sara for all my pet needs from now on until pet depot starts to acknowledge their hard working employees and educating the ones that need to learn what teamwork is!!!!

I can't really blame the employees here. They were great. I got 3 rabbits from them and they seemed fine for a bit. Not even 4 days later, 2 of them passed. The last surviving one(she's doing great now) was taken to the vet and it was found out that they had Coccidia, an intestinal parasite. The vet believed they had it since I got them. I did call to inform them to clean the enclosure really good to keep it from spreading, but I'm not sure if anything came out of it.

This place is straight trash. Manager is mean and has no idea what she is doing. Bought two ferrets from here and one of them died 10 days later it won't even let you purchase them until Friday's even though they are perfectly fine to go before that none of the other pet Depot's have this policy or the poor attitude of this one

I really like this place, but the fish are really poorly cared for. There were a lot of dead fish in the tanks and signs of fin rot on the angelfish :( We really like this place, but that's a deal breaker for us.Edit: After responding to the manager's e-mail -we returned 2 days later and the tanks were worse than ever. More dead fish were found in other tanks and the dead angels were severely decomposed. We will not be returning and I do not advise buying fish from this location. Do adopt (they do those through 3 party rescues), but do not buy animals directly from them.

It's been years since I shopped here. Pet Smart is closer but they were out of stock of what I needed and I remembered Pet Depot. We used to shop there weekly until Pet Smart opened up. I went in 2/7/20 and walked up and down every aisle looking for something they said was in stock over the phone. No one greeted me. I don't even know if anyone was working other than the person who was busy at the register. They seriously need to consider moving this location (and add some staff because you missed a sale). I am a female and I did not feel safe from the time I left my car, walked inside the store and back to my car. I'd overpay to not experience this place again. I won’t be back as long as this part of the shopping center remains sketchy.

If I could do no stars I would. My grandmother and I went to the new store location. There were two birds in a cage in the middle of the store that were obviously freezing and she told them about it (one was a shift manager) and they didn’t seem to care. And were rude at that. Will not be going back. Very unprofessional and do not care about their animals or their customers.

I wish I could give a negative star.I bought my little girl a pacman frog for Christmas I got everything a pacman frog needs as we have had them before so I'm not new at having amphibians or reptiles. This frog was 70 dollars and it has now died. My guess is I bought it while it was already sick and it has now died even after proper care.If y'all could have even met me half way with a replacement or some type of help with the situation that would have been great but nope. I will not do anymore business with your company. And, I hope someone reads this before they come to y'all for any type of amphibians or reptiles.

Pet Depot has been very helpful as I search for the best food for my cat. Now we are special ordering food that the store does not normally carry and they have made if easy. I like knowing that I am getting quality products for our animals.

This store gets an occasional unusual fish, but most of the people who work there don't know much about them. This is not a big deal unless the fish is delicate and can die from rough handling. I was excited to find Rummy Nose tetras there once. There were seven in the aquarium, I wanted to buy all seven. I ended up with five because the young lady who netted them killed two while she was trying to catch them. They denied my request to net my own fish. I don't think I will buy fish from them again.

Very good staff and knowledgeable about the critters they sell and their products she's really enjoying her little friend she got for her Birthday and I think he enjoys her as well ❤️.

I haven't been in Pet Depot in a longtime. I had received poor service in the past. This visit changed my view. Associates I interacted with was wonderful and helpful. Store was clean and selection was great. I'll definitely be back.

Great place for pets. It’s where I go to get treats and food for my ferrets. When we bought our second ferret they let our first meet the ferret we wanted to buy to see if they hit it off. It is the first store I go to for all my pets needs.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Comprehensive stock. A sale in process meant I got almost a year's worth of Greenies for less than box of 96 normally cost. I was very pleased with that!

Everyone is sooooo rude. You are interupting them by shopping there.Sign on door says "mask required".Not one employee had a mask on. I ask the emploee in the fish dept. she said her dr. said she didn't have to wesr one.I asked the VERY RUDE cashier and she said " My dr says i don't have to wear one". Well then she certianly should NOT be working the check out where she comes in contact with EVERY person that buys something.I never saw so many sick teen agers!!!I guess they all have a drs note!!!Also only one other customer had a mask on out of 4 other customers.Unfortunately i have to go there for mice.

I walked in and out and was never spoken to. I needed assistance with dog food and after standing there for 5 minutes, I left. I have been shopping at this store for over 2 years and will never return. This is not the first time I've had this problem!

I walked in concert with my babies weight that he wasn’t getting the protein he needed so I walked to the dog food and looked didn’t see no one at first but then this guy from the Cullman store came out from the back I told him I didn’t care about the price I needed help my baby needs help holding back the tears for concern he Motions me to the dog food he’s suggested this one brand I can’t remember the brand right off because I just got home with it and fed it to my baby he was like an angel that I needed at that moment because my baby was on the verge of death because he is so skinny and he said this should work if not come back and we will try something else. I dint know his name he was young kinda on the big side longer hair but I want to say thank you for being my angel in a time I didn’t know what to do the boy deserves a big tase for what he did that’s my opinion

Absolutely horrible, I had several item's bundled up ready to buy including fish flakes, aquarium filters and water treatment and was standing at the back of the store with all this in my arm's wanting to buy lots of fish, there were some employees at the front looking back that way every now and then, I waited 15 minutes no one offered to help me get fish, I then decided to put all my stuff back on the shelf and walk out, on my way out the cashier said have a nice night.

They have great knowledge of all kinds of pets including the reptile family. And many others! Wonderful products to choose from! Plenty of pets to choose from as well. I would definitely recommend Pet Depot!

Fish all dead in the tanks..staff know nothing about the fish. Also had a rat on the run told the lady...said ok thanks and went back to fixing her shelves! Really rude! Told me thank for the evidence it wasn't evidence!! Will never be back nor recommend them! No care what so ever about the animals! So sad to see this!

This is my favorite pet store. I took it for granted when I lived in cullman. I moved to bham and have been to pet stores all over and none are as well stocked and as nice as this one. This one always carries multiple brands and multiple sizes of things. I love love love the little bakery area for dogs. You can’t find those cute little dog cookies anywhere in bham that I know of.

It's ok if theirs nowhere else to go. They are expensive and no one seems to be overly friendly nor helpful. You may get different answers from the few staff working there. I was given a price on dubia roaches and got to the register to find out they were twice as much as I was told. The first price I was given was expensive but the actual price was outrageous.

The lady that works in the grooming department doesn't like German Shepherd's. So we don't go there for any grooming needs. Pet smart does that only go there in emergency.
