Cooper our Airedale we purchased in 2011. He was the best buddy we have ever had. He passed away 3/21/24 at 12.5 years old. He would kayak with us and go tubing with our grandkids, all the neighborhood dogs loved him. Darren is the best breaker. This was our 4 th Airedale we purchased , our first with Darren we will always go back to him.

In 2019 I tragically lost my Airedale and in an attempt to ease my pain I was on the hunt for another Airedale. I had searched for weeks and contacted 20+ breeders who all refused to not alter a puppy as I wanted to keep the tail in tact. Just before losing hope I came into contact with Darren. From the very beginning he was very polite, respectful and informative. He kept me updated on how mom was doing, the minute she delivered, even how the delivery went. I received multiple updates on the puppies including pictures and videos. When I finally received my puppy he came with his akc paperwork but also included was his original collar and a piece of a blanket that smelled of his mom. It was and had always been apparent that Darren really took good care of these dogs. I never once had any issues with Darren returning my phone calls. I would absolutely do business with them again.

Purchased a puppy who is now 4 & 1/2 months old. Darren and Susie Susie were very professional to work with and I left puppy with Susie for a month’s training. Due to an untimely death in our family it turned out to be 93 days before I was able to meet with them to pick up our puppy. He is a wonderful puppy and easily steals everyone’s heart. He was well socialized for small children and other dogs.As to the reviews that say Darren did not return their calls I question these individuals’ honesty. Darren returned all of my calls and usually answered on the call on my first call. Yes, I want to emphasize that he answered my calls before I picked up my puppy and even now a month later. He answers any concerns I have and offers advice.

My Lola is sweeter than the tea here in SC. I will always be thankful to Darrens Airedales for her. But turns out you cannot reason with someone that is in a heartfelt business for the money. He was dishonest and took advantage of my naivety. I was very clear of my intentions & what my needs were. I no longer had to work, had a GSD, may breed 1 or 2x for the experience and love of the breed. When we met July 2016, he brought 3 girls with Sockie. We chose Orange & Susie also thought she would be good for us. She is my ride or die. BUT, she had a protruding belly button. Now, had he informed me of this beforehand, I would have researched this. He advised "this is no problem, it will go away in a week or two, it is normal." (Quote, Unquote) We believed him. He was the "professional" had researched him along with others, never heard of such a thing,2 days later, my Vet laughs & asks "where did you hear such a silly thing? I tell him the breeder for which he replies that any professional breeder knows its an Umbilical Hernia, a bad one at that. You could see pulsing blood flowing thru. Not really dangerous unless you wanted to breed, might be hereditary, or burst. I paid $1500 in 2016 for her, knew I wanted to possibly have a litter. After all the heartache we had been thru with adoptions, we decided to go ahead with the surgery, make sure Lola would never have a problem, & HOPE it was not hereditary. Now knowing Darren would not be honest about it, wait & see. I would deal with one litter only. Turns out it was not hereditary. But, to add insult to injury, when I tried to register Lola's AKC, unbeknownst to me, I was given a "Limited" registration which meant later I could not register my litter. I wanted to advertise my babies on the AKC website, for those like myself that wanted a pure champion bloodline plus be professional. I would choose them based on their experience with the breed. It was never about the money, I told him that. MY ad always said NO BREEDERS OR SHOW DOGS. I refused to ship or transport with strangers. I insisted on meeting everyone. If they did not work out, they had to return them to me. But I did decide to call him to ask for the unlimited registration because I had been upfront about my intentions of wanting one or two litter. I did not want to be his competition, was in SC. Every time I drove the 50mi to Folley Beach with Lola, everyone would ask what kind of dog....etc. Research also showed the closest breeder was in TN. The time was right but I did not want to be a professional breeder, I would do it like a professional, with the real human touch. I absolutely loved it. 3 litters was enough for me. It was hard work, I was lucky as I did not have to do anything but take care of them along with my other 2 dogs, and my very demanding hubby. But Darren refused to give me the full registration UNLESS I gave him MORE money. He was rude, lied said I never told him that. I was shocked & disgusted. I never even told him about the Umbilical Hernia. I just hung up & blocked him. Lola turned out to be the perfect Mama. 10 perfect babies 3x, so perfect, only needing my help and motivation, a Tums daily. Updates still come from Buffalo to Utah. NO health issues, aggression, or lies. Papa Lord Gordon hails from KY. PLUS HIS GREAT GRANDFATHER IS: SOCKIE. TRIPLE BONUS for the CHAMPION BLOODLINE. Turns out, I was honest and all they want is the BEST healthy Airedale family member for which the love of the breed & Champion bloodline drew them to Lola's babies. It is not slander or libel, IF IT"S TRUE. You really should be honest. Lola is such an awesome girl. I will aways be grateful for her. But I never recommended Darren to the many people I turned away. I referred them to Gordy's parents in KY. These are our family members. After research, I still would have bought her, but he should have been honest, paid for the surgery, given an unlimited registration. One or the other, that would have been the right thing to do.

These two - five years apart - both from Darren’s Airedales. After finding this breeder, we only buy from them - why? Because my first two Airedales from other breeders both had health issues and my dogs from Darren are super healthy! His pups are raised on lots of land as opposed to living their first 2 months in tiny pens like most breeders. Susie plays with them, trains them as babies and gives them an amazing start in their journey. Darren knows Airedales- he is very knowledgeable, loves his dogs and welcomes tons of questions- that I always ask 😉. Airedales are my jam - and Darrens Airedales are where I shop for high quality, well cared for pups!

Stay away!!! The process started in June, when I reached out to Darren. He seemed nice enough and I left a $250 refundable deposit. After a few weeks, I decided to check in on the progress. Since then, Darren has been sporadically responsive, and then eventually unresponsive. After a few months, once I realized that there's no way I'm getting a puppy, tried asking for my deposit back. No luck either! Save yourself some money and most importantly your nervous system - find a different breeder!

We bought a puppy from Darren and Susie in January. Susie trained her for us and did an excellent job. This is by far the best dog we have ever had. She has the sweetest disposition, so beautiful, intelligent and full of funny personality. We couldn’t be happier.

WARNING: DO NOT TRUST DARREN AIREDALES .Weeks after paying a deposit for a puppy, I requested a refund. After numerous calls, texts, voicemails, and emails Darren ignored me. I filed a PayPal claim requesting a refund which also was ignored. I soon realized that he was promoting delivery of puppies 4 weeks after birth which is a MAJOR RED FLAG.

Our Airedale will be five years old this week. I still remember picking him up from Darren and his wife. They are kind people and amazing breeders. Super helpful and knowledgeable.

STAY AWAY!Same thing happened to me as to person who left review before me. I paid deposit of $250.00 for the puppy, at the beginning Darren returned my call and after that i never heard from him, didn't get a puppy or my $250! This is a big scam stay away from this guy!!!!!!!

Do not do business with Darren. Was unable to provide a puppy after many months stating the litters were small. Will not respond to emails and will not return the deposit. No longer listed on the AKC Marketplace.

Darren and Susie are awesome folks and great breeders. We’ve acquired two Airedales from them and both are awesome, healthy animals.After researching several Airedale breeders in the southeast, Darren was by far our first choice. He and Susie take great care to ensure their pups are cared for and have all required shots. Paperwork for breed verification was in order and clearly healthy pups.

Very upsetting. They took my money and will not provide a refund and keep pushing back the date of receiving a puppy. They state that the litter was les than expected. Won’t answer calls, texts or emails. Not trustworthy at all.
