The lady's at the front desk were so helpful and super sweet. I had to pick up dewormer and vaccines for my fur babies. She explained everything that I needed ta do. I will definitely be back.

Would put zero stars if possible old lady at the desk could not care less about a puppy hit by a car! Showed up 5 minutes before open waited thirty five minutes for a cart to bring the dog inside then was asked to leave because we asked them to hurry! Most useless people I have ever seen perfect for the town over priced and over rated! Old lady at the desk is just mad she made horrible life choices and still had to work! Go to Chelsea vet or mac animal hospital cheaper and they care!

We have been visiting Shelbiana Animal Clinic for over 13 years. The entire staff is wonderful. We currently have 4 dogs and a 19 year old cat. I credit the good health of all my pets to Dr. Thornburg and Dr. Self. I want to personally thank them for always being there for our sweet pets.

I take both of my dogs here.A French Bulldog and a Pekingese .This place is fantastic.Both of my dogs thrive because they come here.The vets are very knowledgeable.The support staff are fantastic and friendly.The rates are very reasonable in my opinion. This is where every dog should go !!!

Our Agnes was so sick throwing up and diarrhea both with blood on a Sunday we had to take her to a vet hospital but come Monday she was still very sick.. I called Shelbiana and told them what was going on with her and they told me to bring her on… with in 1day we saw an improvement 2nd day she was able to come home with meds.. the Staff and Dr Thornburg was amazing.. Dr. Thornburg called every day checking on her…I will and have recommended Shelbiana for your Pets needs

We have used Dr Thornburg and Dr Self for over 15 years. We have moved away lived in Starkville (Home of MS) and Texas, but thankfully we came back to AL and I can honestly say these two gentlemen and their entire staff are wonderful and care. There is something to say about a practice that has the same ladies for 10-30 years working with them.Over the years I have had to lay two of my family pets to rest, at the office. Recently we just lost our beloved 14 year old doxie and we can’t express how grateful I am for the kindness and support my husband and I were given during this difficult time. We thank you so much.

Everyone is so polite and knowledgeable. It's a very pleasant environment and reasonable pricing. My sweet girl bandit needed surgery and I was able to take her in and bring her home in the same day. These are honest, practical people who are NOT just out for your money. Other vets have always shamed me for trying to avoid spending money on every unnecessary precaution. These know exactly what your pet needs and does not need and are not afraid to tell you the plain truth. We took our last dog to a different clinic to be spayed and she was released same day, not given a potty break, handled rough, bruising all over, sick as anything and wouldn't eat for days (and EXPENSIVE). We took Matilda here to be spayed and they cared for her overnight, already eating well, she came home happy and energetic, I can tell they took special care of her (and I paid exactly what they quoted me weeks earlier down to the penny!). I really appreciate the obvious integrity, knowledge, and compassion of the staff I've interacted with so far.

We started using Shelbiana Animal Clinic about 8 years ago, when we moved to the area. We could not be happier. The doctors are very caring and compassionate. They have always put the needs of my pets FIRST! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The office is always clean. They have an excellent boarding facility and a nice big yard for the dogs to run. We are treated like family, and my pets feel right at home here!

Dr. Thorneburg is wonderful and knowledgeable, the office is clean, and staff friendly. Some of the staff is knowledgeable but at least one is clueless and had no idea about basic dog issues. I had called to ask about my parents retriever once because his skin was changing color and she told me over the phone that i must be mistaking it for dirt and that I should just bring him in for a bath. I got tired of arguing with her and just called back until someone else answered the phone and knew exactly what I was talking about. But overall, it is a great place with competitive prices. Definitely recommend it

Charles Thornburg has been my vet since the mid seventies.He and his staff are very caring, empathetic, knowledgeable & professional..The clinic is always well kept inside and out. Very clean.He even answers questions regarding my daughters dog who is not even a patient of his (live some distance from Columbiana, in another county).And, upon returning for a checkup with my dog, he asked about my grand dog and how she was doing.If you want your pet well cared for, this is the place to go.

I have used this vet for multiple years, but after Monday I will never go back. At 11:15 I called and explained that my 13 year old dog had been attacked by coyotes and was unable to move, bleeding everywhere. I couldn't move her and was waiting on my friend to help move her. Darlene told me that unless I could get her in in the next few minutes that they would not take her because they had to go to lunch (at 12) but she so "graciously" offered me a 1:15 appointment for my dieing dog. She had to be taken to another vet over a half an hour away and did not survive. Darlene's lack of empathy and caring for a life or death situation will steer me clear of this business and I urge everyone to do the same. I am simply appalled by the way I was treated in the last hour of my baby's life
