I went in there today and as always I take my puppy in there with me first let me start by saying my puppy is registered as a Service animal. This lil old lady approach me at the door and 1st thing she say is you can’t bring your dog in the store and I asked when did they come up with this rule because is have always brought him in with me and no one said anything. So I proceeded to take him back to the car while I ran in there to get some hot dog buns. She never asked me if he was a service animal or anything and she started to explain to me I guess on why I couldn’t bring him in. At this point he’s already back in the hot car. Another thing I didn’t see anything posted that NO PETS ALLOWED in store. From my understanding service animals was allowed any where and no I did not say emotional support animal I said SERVICE ANIMAL. I will be contacting my lawyer.

My experience was absolutely horrific! I placed an online pickup order and never received an email about picking up after 5 hours had went by! I decided to go in store and ask about it, the manager proceeds to tell me it isn’t anything she can do because she didn’t receive an order because her device glitches?? I even showed her my confirmation email & actual order receipt. She told me if I repurchase in store I couldn’t use my DG digital coupons! This store seriously needs to hire people who knows how to work basic electronic devices (tech savvy)! Mark however is great!!!!

I been having a great experience lately at the dollar general I had to come on here an say Mr. Mark Bell has excellent customer service experience I’ve lived in Columbiana 2 years and this is the first time I felt compelled to do at review for this store he is always friendly eager to help he makes you feel like he appreciates your business so tonight I asked him his full name I want to surprise him with a shot out for a job well done!

The people in this store are awful. One cashier will put all of your groceries in one bag. So now you have the risk of your bag ripping. They don't speak, the floors are filthy. I could go on but I'm not.

Both cashier and manager are more worried about chitchatting in office than to help costumers. They refused to take one of their in-store coupon because according to the cashier "she knows nothing on how to apply a coupon". The manager did not even bother to help to apply the coupon. Only self check out was open, and when I hit the help button, it took the customer behind me going to knock on the office door to get their attention to come help (10 minutes spawn of time from the time I hit the help button to the time they came to help). also the customer behind me mentioned that they do this all the time and refuse to honor their in-store coupons. this store needs serious change of management, this is beyond unacceptable.

My first trip to this location was a nightmare! The lady at the check out was apparently have a bad day but she couldn’t figure out why my $5 off $25 coupon wouldn’t work! She just wanted me to accept it and leave!! I explained I only shop at DG to use my digital coupons. It was sass and really embarrassed me. After I explained my subtotal was over $25 (before tax) and I needed her to apply my coupon. She went back over the “system” deal and whatever but she ended up fixing it but I told her that I have been doing these coupon transactions for years and I would NEVER go back to this location EVER again! It’s a shame b/c my mother lives 2 mins from this place!

Dollar General in Calera Al is not a good place to work at. The manger yells at you on the phone in front of customers. Plus they do not pay you enough for the work you is doing there. That is why they can't keep any workers because of the manager.

Worst customer service ever!! Stay away from this location. The blonde girl who runs the register should not work in customer service as she is rude and confrontational. You might as well drive a few minutes up the road to Publix where they value their customers.

Called ahead and was treated wonderfully and came and was able to get what I needed super fast and staff was so sweet . Very clean store and very organized . Everyone had masks on which I appreciate clerk made convo with everyone and was super sweet . I will def be coming back here for my stuff and stuff for my friends . Loved the experience and keep up the great work, ❤❤

Consistently dirty & unorganized Always uboats full of stock to be unloaded all over the store. You literally have to "work" your way through the store like a maze. Filthiest floors in any store I've ever been in. Been that way for 3.5 years. I don't go to that location unless I have no choice.

Was a great place to shop when it first opened, now it's horrible and I can't stand having to stop here. There is ALWAYS a long line no matter what time you go. Store is always a disaster, they have out of date meat products out for sale. Nothing is ever stocked on shelves. In my opinion I think it's piss poor management to ruin a brand new store that fast. I try my best to shop elsewhere when I can.

Not very well managed, employees seem overworked, and there's never enough registers open. Be prepared to stand in line for 20 minutes or better. Have personally witnessed the manager goofing off and making small talk with irate customers as the check out line continued to back up. Also one very rude employee, and older lady that yells at the others.

Convenient, but it didn't take any time at all for the clogged aisles and general disarray to take over this new store too. I assume that, in spite of Dollar General Corp. losing multiple lawsuits due to customer injuries, it just doesn't sink in that this is NOT the best way to keep your customer base.

Went today. Early this morning. Had an incident with a truck unloading and blocking me in. The manager was the rudest person and didnt care at all that a customer had been blocked in for well over 20 minutes. I won’t be back. I’ll go half a mile down the road to the store that is exactly the same where they treat their customers with respect.

I wish they would clean the place up and restock the shelves. I dont know if they need help or what but they always have boxes sitting in the middle of the floor you have to go around. And when you try to find things you cant find it because they haven't stocked it yet.

I Love going to the dollar general in Columbiana it has everything you need. Everything is in stock I don’t know why that review was on Columbiana they are great they are in top of everything. While the one I go to in my home town has nothing and the DG coupon app does not work there anytime and that one is Calera.

This place always takes forever to check you out. It doesn't matter if the parking lot is full or if there is only one other shopper in the store. The wait getting to the cash register is ridiculous and no one moves with a purpose. I find more often than not the store is poorly stock too. Maybe the problems lie with the store seeming to be under staffed.

I rated 3 stars because of the lack of inventory. It seems as though they are constantly out of products that I need. Not to mention the revolving door or employees. They always have someone new and they're not always the friendliest.

I'm trying to print out coupons off the website and it just keeps prompting me to install the coupon printer. Never had a problem before and went and printed coupons off other websites, checked the trouble shooting, it appears it's just the DG website.
