Carbon Hill AL store had no employee at the registers so we all had to use self checkout. I didn't get to use my coupons because there was no employee there to fix the register so they would apply to my order. People were talking about just walking out and taking their stuff for free. Unbelievable!

Most Dollar General stores are excellent for picking up odd and ends you made need but don't want to have to go to a big store but when it comes to the DG in Carbon Hill avoid it at all costs. The shelves are always half empty. Aisles are very cramped and products stacked everywhere. Usually only one register working and then the person working said register takes their time. I live in Carbon Hill and I think we deserve a better group of people running our store

Sometimes prices not accurate, excessive time checking out when someone goes for a drink and 45 minutes later comes back citing long check out line. Shouldn't take 15-30 minutes as often as it does to run in and get a drink. Doesn't take that long when I get several things but consistent when Godson goes for just a few minutes to get a cold drink.

The employees are pretty nice. There is always a line that wraps around and bleeds into aisles where people are trying to shop. We often buy propane tank refills here but 1/3 of the time they are either leaking or refuse to let out any gas... Some quality control on that part would be very helpful. We told one of the cashiers that our tank was defective and she placed it back in the cage without marking the tank or putting a sticker on it. Who knows, she might not have been allowed to do that, but I feel bad for whoever depends on that tank to heat their house at night, cus it ain't happening.

They are nasty they don't know how to keep anything on shelves stock anything there store is always looks empty u tell them that some one trying to take something they don't care u tell them that some one had something in there pocket that came from the store or u seen a lady that had a empty perse when she walked in and came out and the bag was full and all they say is I we will look and they probably didn't even look that store is the worse

It was awful!!!!! The system didn't take off my Dollar General coupons. The clerk attempted to correct the problem by re-ringing my purchases which did not work in fact the total was even more the second time she rang it all up. She said their system wasn't working properly and that she would have to re-ring it all up once again. By this time I am totally frustrated and said just forget it. So I left and have no plans of ever shopping with Dollar General ever again!!!!!!!

Goto place when I need sumthing. Good& quick transaction.However today Jan 7,2021 I rate with only 3 stars due to the Outside lighting issue ~For the last 9 MONTHS there continues to b NO OUTSIDE LIGHTS at this Carbon Hill Dollar General. This is a serious issue and continues to be safety hazard as its NOT SAFE FOR EMPLOYEES OR CUSTOMERS!! I have reached out by email and also by completing multiple DG receipt surveys& have yet to receive any feedback from the email sent corporate office last month(Dec. 2020)

The Carbon Hill storeusalways nasty and there are always boxes and shipping containers blocking all the aisles. Some aisles are completely blocked. Steben and Linda are the only 2 ppl who are polite, friendly and helpful.

Horrible! I've boycotted DG as they are doing nothing to stop spread of covid19! No sanitizer, mask or complying with having to wear mask for entry. Not one but every one I been to. I quit going or spending a dime with them 3 months ago

Why in the Sam hell is carbon hill al DG milk $3.80 but right up the road in jasper al all the 5 or 6 DG’s is only $2 that is rediculous and robbing the customers in Carbon Hill they’re is no excuse for it and it makesMe mad to no end!!!! I will not shop there again till the prices match and hope everyone else can do the same I know a lot can’t but they are just trying to take advantage of the LIL small town!!!!

The Dollar General in Carbon Hill is right on the main drag, its easy to find. They have a large selection of reasonably priced food and house hold items.

Would give 4 or 5 star but when they are the busiest, there is only one register open. One register is only for cash, the other is just for credit card.

Never have what u need and the stuff to stock the selves is alway still on the buggys lined along the back aisle so u can never get to what u need from the shelf at the back of the store
